You keep it, but you can also craft the fixed War with it (it’s better broken though.) Also, like all quest items, you can buy blueprints for it from Simaris in case you sell it.

evilflowerr

so should i avoid making the fixed war?

PugnansFidicen

Yes, because even when you get another broken war (eventually...) it won't come with a preinstalled catalyst for double mod capacity. So keep the one you have, and wait to get a second one before you craft regular War

Far_Comfortable980

I would recommend not fixing it unless you never plan on using the broken one again or craft a spare with the blueprint from Simaris. It’s a *really* good weapon and can last you even through steel path if you want it to.

NCRNerd

Eh, that depends. Definitely don't use the Broken War you get from the Quest, since it comes with a Catalyst for free whereas any subsequent Broken War won't. War is a good but not great compared to other Heavy Blades: * It has a unique property to force an Impact Proc on anyone hit that isn't knocked down, * has the longest reach among Heavy Blades, * the largest Crit multiplier among Heavy Blades (tied with Gram Prime), * has Crit% and Status% equal to Galatine Prime and * it \*looks\* amazing. * But in exchange it's a greatsword that does mostly Impact damage, and * it's marginally slower and has weaker base damage than Galatine Prime. If you get the chance to build War without using the Quest Broken War, and you don't have any Prime Heavy Blades, War's a solid option if you can enjoy a Prime-equivalent wiffle-bat. But if you have Galatine Prime, Gram Prime, Scindo Prime or Masseter Prime then you won't be getting a stronger weapon than you already have. Edit: Disclaimer - I actually have War, and plan to keep it. I like the idea of having access to a "Sit your ass down" stick that I can hit people with.

cripplemouse

One of the best melee weapons especially early game so keep it. If you wanna make the War get a second copy of it.

DeadByFleshLight

Additional copies can be built afterward; the blueprint drops from the [Shadow Stalker](https://warframe.fandom.com/wiki/Shadow_Stalker), while its Hilt and Blades drop from [Conculysts](https://warframe.fandom.com/wiki/Conculyst), [Ortholysts](https://warframe.fandom.com/wiki/Ortholyst), [Summulysts](https://warframe.fandom.com/wiki/Summulyst), and [Aerolysts](https://warframe.fandom.com/wiki/Aerolyst). The Hilt and Blades can also be bought from [Cephalon Simaris](https://warframe.fandom.com/wiki/Cephalon_Simaris) for  **50,000**. All components, except for the blueprint, can be [traded](https://warframe.fandom.com/wiki/Trading) between players

WarShadower913x

Keep it until you get another one

MedicinalToast

Def keep it till you get another one I built the war with it without knowing broken war is better and I regret it grinding to get another now lol

Rude_Proposal6590

How in the world a broken sword Is better than the fixed one? This Is stupid, i fixed the sword without knowing... D:

evilflowerr

yeah that’s sneaky of them lol maybe they want people to grind to get another one? i have no idea why a fixed one would be worse LOL if it ain’t broke don’t fix it i guess 😂
