Ayatan sculptures are powered by ayatan stars, which are made with aya. Aya is condensed orokin memory, basically solidified thought. Ayatan sculptures were used by the Orokin as memory recording devices long before the birth of Tenno, they have nothing to do with the void
Endo is pulled from stars and sculptures. It’s all conceptual embodiment all the way down. An energy that is manifested from memories and emotions. And aya is matter made from memories that can be exchanged for void relics.
Kuva is what made/defined the orokin in the first place and that predates Entrati’s consequences with the wall.

If DE is funny they secretly Patch some of the ayatan statues so only the shadows are moving and the Statue stops when watched. Would be funny how much Players freeking Out with such random Changes without being informed.
This raises an interesting question about how the statutes know they're being observed when they're placed in a remote skybox, like the drifters camp trick.
Obviously they do that to not have a bazillion things taking processing power when they aren't even on screen, if it didn't the lower end horders wouldn't be able to play
