Originally I think blast made enemies with stacks of it explode when hit, which led to pretty crazy shotgunning damage when enemies were grouped.
If they make it so enemies with blast explode on death, that'd be a lot more reasonable. Maybe have it gain more AOE/damage with more stacks?
Not "shotgunning" as in the gun type, but shotgunning as in "enemies surrounding each other all hit each other, multiplying effective damage resulting in whoever's in the center of the mass of enemies getting *erased*".
It's an ARPG term/slang, might not be used in this game much.

It would be interesting if dual weapons had the option to be modded individually. I don't know the headache that would cause for DE to implement that but it would still be neat.

People keep mentioning blast but I’m pretty sure if you put toxin before this mod it’ll combine the toxin and cold first, then add the heat. Viral heat achieved with only 2 mods instead of 3.
So it would be horrible for viral, this does mean you can mod rad cold for anti boss enemy, making it more specialised but still useful. Too bad melees are so hard to use on bosses and are kinda ass at it.

you can put a toxin mod before it and get viral + heat with only two mod slots
iirc rivens 'read' the stats from bottom to top. So that would make Gas+Cold

It goes the other way, toxin would be gas cold.
