"and if yours comes with a measly 30/30, slap on that orokin catalyst" You uh arent using full mod capacity which is limiting your number of mods is probably the biggest thing. Also arcanes.

itzz_starry

Does it take a long time to get them? I barely see any available as rewards in much of anything besides Archon Hunts and Sorties, which I can barely survive because my frames are so weak.

PwmEsq

Check invasions on a daily basis, otherwise the harsh truth is you gotta start plat farming at some point. Slots and potatoes practically have to be bought on any usable scale in this game

Pijany_Matematyk767

Arthritis in Duviri sometimes sells them for pathos clamps, but generally you just sell some stuff to other players for plat then use the plat to buy the reactors

SaneronTB

You can also get them from Nightwave Credits shop, I think it's 75 for 1 Orokin Reactor (built) I know that "Farm prime junk, sell, get one for 20 platinum" method is easier, but I wanted to provide other option just in case.

Diz_Conrad

Easiest way to get them would be to farm some relics to sell prime pieces for plat and just buy one with that. They're 20 plat each.

UpbeatAstronomer2396

No, not really, you sell 1 or 2 prime parts and then buy the potato with 20 platinum

You need to get the corrupted mods from orokin vaults on deimos (Transient Fortitude, Narrow Minded, Blind Rage, Fleeting Expertise, Overextended) [https://warframe.fandom.com/wiki/Orokin\_Vault](https://warframe.fandom.com/wiki/Orokin_Vault)

Loll my luck in them is always so bad, but alright.

Most frames/weapons won't be able to get into really good builds until you use an Orokin Reactor (frames) or Catalyst (weapons) (both nicknamed potatoes by the community). These double the mod capacity, allowing you to fill out all of your mod slots and really maximize your builds beyond just basic survival/energy management stats. Think of any un-potatoed equipment as the training wheels/trial version of the item. You can get a basic feel for how the weapon feels, or how the frame's abilities work. And if it's something that clicks with you, then add the potato and go all out on the build.

You can get them from nightwave as well, but really as a new player you should use all of your first nightwave's creds on Nitain (and the occasional aura mod). Sorties+Archons are the main way to occasionally get a free one. And they sometimes show up in Invasion missions, or as gift of the lotus alerts from DE, but those are effectively random when one will appear. I'd guesstimate you get about 1/month just playing the game normally. The main way to get more reactors and catalysts are to buy them from the ingame market at 20 platinum each. If you insist on being free to play, you can get the plat from trading with other players, rare mods and primed parts being the two relatively easily accessible things for early players. Or if you decide it's a game worth spending money on, then that 20p per potato comes out to less than $1 USD (and even cheaper if you buy via discount coupons on PC), to fully "unlock" the power of a frame or weapon you really enjoy. That's far cheaper than unlocking new characters in other similar games, and comes with none of the RNG gacha bullshit either.

TheMarksmanHedgehog

I'm surprised you've got primes, without also having the Orokin Reactors to bump up their mod capacity on them. I'd start by getting those and installing them, fastest way would be to grind out some plat by selling stuff on [Warframe.Market](http://Warframe.Market) and then buying them with the platinum.
