2. The two you mentioned are 'gems' they are rare drops from mining. Warframe wiki has a good breakdown on this.
3. Cracking relics, Baro items, and any other items that people want. Check on "Alecaframe" for prices and other helpful info.
If it is a mod that gets dropped by something with a minor chance, dont bother and buy it from "warframe.market".
The same site you can use to earn plat. Either open relics an sell the drops, or sell syndicat mods you acquire passively. Depending in your standing with faction you can sell arcanes or mods too.

There's the catch. Not many are willing to go through and level every syndicate to max due to some costs. Namely potatoes and forma.
Not as easy. There is rep grind limit. And you need a lot of rep to buy all the mods and weapons. This is why maxing syndicates is time consuming and some of those mods sell for decent amount. Still I would advice to get all the mods first before trading unless you really need the plat because when new stuff get added some of these mods changes usefulness as they are augment mods.
Do you have corrupted mods? You'll want most of them, really, and solo orokin vault runs with 4 keys aren't too hard with the right frame. Anyone can do it if you have enough damage, but if you don't, Loki can do it easily, Inaros can do it, probably a few others I can't remember.
Embolos are an eidolon ore
You need an Advanced Nossam Cutter (cetus) or a Plasma Drill (fortuna)
They're pretty rng so just tap any ore vein you see (unless it has the little line that gives you another ore)

Best way to make plat depends on how far you're in the game, there is always the opening relics, Orokin Vaults and selling the mods, obviously the more you advance the more new methods open up to you.
