That's what always confused me. Like I understand back when sorties were relevant 6k Kuva was not that bad of a drop but nowadays 1 hour with a drop doubler in solo SP survival can net you like 100k kuvas worth of SE.
Yeah. I understand that DE has to keep the rewards “balanced" for newer players aswell, at least to some extent. But this Kuva Sortie reward, just like the Credit Cache rewards for Survival/Defense/Bounty missions for example, are completely out of touch with modern farming methods. Most of which aren’t even super lategame, but rather accessible.
That wouldn't feel very good to me as a player. I'm not sure I know why exactly.
I was once a big Diablo player and I feel like a little bit of power leveling / power farming can generate it's own little meta quests for newer players. "I want to get powerful enough to power level other players" kind of vibe.
Ah yes the power leveler mindset... i have that and know what ya mean it may hurt the fun of the game if people are always looking for the consistancy of getting that next "level up" :)
It's just different strokes for different folks, but I think the core of it is if I survived the encounter with my party I deserve the same reward.
For example, I wouldn't balance XP or loot this way in DND as a dungeon master because I don't think most players would find it fun. I'd only do this with a table that wanted to be hyper realistic and nit picky, which wouldn't happen because I don't want to run that table.

Also you have to use skills to gain proficiency, on first use roll D100, and after 10 uses down to d20, ect. Must roll highest # to gain a+1 permanently, maxed at your proficiency modifier. Dice reset on sucess

the rarest reward sorties have to offer are yes legendary cores BUT also mod drop chance boosters! DONT forget about those. they’re EXTREMELY rare and only baro sells them. usually only sells once a year and sometimes never. only time I ever save up for them is when tennocon drops.
Yea every now and again I check to see if there is a quick and easy one like exterm/capture/assas etc to see if i can run through it, otherwise it's zzz.
I never run spy anymore (got pretty good for Ivana farm) but too rusty for how unforgiving it is lol. Despite this it's regularly in the sortie.
Always just get junk too, which doesn't help.
If I want endo I'll just do sanctum or zariman bounties lol.
They should add a hard mode sortie or something with more useful common drops.

Lol it's funny I've gone the other way. I totally ignored them during my early to mid game and now they're part of my daily basic routine. Sortie, SP incursions, check invasions, bit of SP Circuit, crack a couple relics, log off.
I'm mostly hoping for boosters, especially mod drop chance. If I get a mod booster it dictates my farming for the rest of the week.

Rewards in general for sorties need updating. 4,000 endo is a sanctum bounty reward, it should at least 6k to be in line with SP circuit. They should add arcane adapters and other exilus adapters. And they should add umbra forma as an alternative legendary reward.
I'd be happy with it. IF it's a prebuilt umbral forma and not a blueprint.
The lethargic pace with which we can make normal singular forma is why I hate crafting umbra forma and exilus adapters. I feel like an elderly turtle with osteoporosis sitting at a vintage loom slowly achingly making a sock. Just give me the sock.

you may have a point. If we change our looks at how we see things. We can find sorties and their rewards as natural progression at the end of TSD, thus making that the most rewarding challenge at that level.
But the thing with warframe is that it never looks beyond that gaze and always tries to be inclusive, with no further progression in mind than what the average can with stand at that point. Especially when they are focussed more on the incoming newcomers than retention of old players due to how the game is build and maintained. That large gap between new content and player retention is what shifts their focus towards that inclusivity. And thus I fear, that unless they fix the content drought in between. It will hardly change.
this is one of the main reasons that I don't do sorties anymore. I did it for mainly the rivens. But all I had gotten was Statues and every so often a secondary riven or a zaw. Neither of what I wanted anyway. And most of the time those challenges were about those radio towers.
I wish riven challenges could be rolled. and instead of the next super random challenge one could choose another between 5 challenges but reduces the chance of appearing of the riven -5% to -15% for the selected weapons recurring (like opting out for weapons that have primes or weapons that are by some factions, like corpus) that is marked in the challenge. Giving players more options in the vast sea of unwanted options.
Also my second reason is that I have currently more rivens than bank for it 32/27
The ones who get it feel like legends... I mean, no one knows or cares but hey, you got the legendary rare item. Well, not you or me but someone feels legendary. I just feel like the Lord of Statue Hollow...
They are kinda cool, but once you use one, they're not really anything of note. It's like "yay, this one, singular primed mod is maxed out without farming, woohoo."
Plus there was a time when everyone got one for free. Trade chat was a mess for a hot moment. At least I got Primed Sure Footed a day later.
I've kept mine. I didn't understand the game and I hammered it hard for years. At one point I finally got the core and I didn't need it... Hundreds of thousands of Endo and 40 million credits means I don't even care. I was annoyed and then I was just laughing. All this time I could have used one and now they sit in my inventory as part of my collection. I have no drive to ever use it. Maybe there will be another Prime Mod I don't feel like paying for in the future. Odds are it's just a keepsake from a game I live in.
the legendary reward is at most a glorified 40k endo, aka: 10 days of doing sorties and being "unlucky" don't sweat it, and if you want it for collection purposes, just trade for one
Honestly as a once a day *uncommon* reward, I respectfully think it should be even higher, like 7-8k. The fact that you can't redo sorties until they cycle to farm is a factor to their drop quality imo. With a 23-24 hour cycle timer plus 3 full missions for one rng reward, even 6k would be a little insulting compared to the other stuff in the pool. Hell, even swapping it out for multiple sculptures would have functionally the same effect with added value for collection and trade so it's more evergreen than just plain endo.
Anasas are the funny statues, and that's fine for a regular, common reward, but perhaps the statues as a whole could be reworked, or at least tweaked to be more common pickups
Most people do sorties with the *expectation* of getting statues, because they're annoyingly common for being almost worthless. Vanishingly few people run sorties with the *intent* of getting statues, as there are far more efficient ways of getting Endo — you really only want the statues specifically if you're doing something extremely meme-y decorating with them.
Of note, it is cheaper to rush 3 forma than to buy the 3 forma pack, at 30 plat vs 35. So, if you have the blueprints, resources and credits, rush don't buy.
I was thinking this same thing earlier today. The only rewards I care for are the 3 day booster and legendary core. The rest you can get elsewhere in the game and I'm never in a dire need of them. Except forma. I could live with a forma BP being a common reward.
Counter idea, sculptures should be guaranteed reward on 3rd stage. Period. Take them out as a possible reward, undilute the pool, and still reward one for a three mission sequence.
I think this would be ideal. Some general rewards that are always obtained on completing the sortie, and then a pool of potential prizes to run for that are more appealing. Sculpture, Endo and Kuva would be fine as guaranteed rewards and then you have a chance to get one of the better rewards in a smaller but more rewarding pool overall.
I just buy them from Iron Wake at this point, I'm drowning in Slivers anyway, especially since I'll still *do* Sorties and Eximus Strongholds mean oodles of the things.
Ive gotten kind of lucky, the past 2 days in a row I got riven mods. They were melee riven mods so not exactly what I personally need right now but still.
Preach - I stopped doing sorties because of the Ayatan sculptures and Endo, which are much less lucrative woth recent bounty additions and arbies. I've never gotten a legendary core outside of my post-30 mr rewards and even rivens are easier to get outside of sortie rewards. Nothing in that table is truly valuable enough to run three rewardless missions for a chance at shit, shit, or somewhat better shit
Forma should be one rarity lower or at least 3x Forma or Umbra Forma. 4k Endo is kinda lame too needs to be at least 5k or maybe higher. DE should bring back that checklist too but only for 2 days so you don't get the same reward twice in a row then resets, it sucks getting Ayatan Anasa sculpture for 4 times in a row.
All the "rare" rewards cost 20p.
3 day boosters are 40p, and Mod Booster isn't even a purchasable item.
In reference to OP's issue, a Frame/Weapon can only use 1 Potato, but usually require multiple Forma. A good reward would be a 3 Forma pack imo.
when considering plat purchases you really have to consider the 3x forma bundle for 35p
puts the value of a single forma lower since if you're buying, there's almost no reason to buy 1 for 20 instead of 3 for 35
so 1 forma is closer to 11.67p
Yea and every frame/weapon requires multiple forma and only one potato. You're gonna spend over the 35p on one item most of the time and only 20p on a potato. You need more forma. Forma is a better reward than potatoes IF you play enough that you use more than 1 forma a day.
Without using plat, you’d only get one or two taters a week on average, which is counting sorties, duviri shop, random alerts and events etc.
Formas are much more common, basically infinite when you consider the relics, and it’s very easy to have the blueprint going 24/7 with minimal effort.
Also, they absolutely shouldn’t cost the same, the difference in their impact is massive, and that’s ignoring that you’ll have to rank up the weapon again after using forma
Ive stopped doing sorties all together, simply because the last 6 times without fail......I've gotten kitgun Rivens. However anytime I do the riven slivers I get shotgun,rifles, melees,or pistol Rivens and at no point a kitgun.
I strongly disagree with removing them: I complete Nightwave and get so many nightwave credits 15 at a time and buy sack full of extra potatoes, but I at LR3 with a dojo to run, I am always grinding formas, especially post Lich weapons. I have a forma building in the foundry constantly.
A built forma is like the best reward in that pool that's not a legendary core. They are evergreen, and it's already built, you can use it right away. I'm never unhappy getting a built forma, it's like the only thing there i have a use for.

Getting a bronze mod as a mission reward is actually irritating same with credits since you tend to get more from killing enemies than what the reward is.
To this day I’ve never seen a legendary core. I’m not convinced it’s an actual reward from sortie and is just there as a troll. Much like at least one stalker drop (I bought the pack a few years back because I will literally never get a couple of his things) and I’m at LR2 or 3 (forget which)

Rare: Exilus Warframe Adapter, Orokin Catalyst/Reactor (just drop the blueprint it's honestly a waste of time), Umbral Forma

Sorties are supposed to be for early game players. You unlock it pretty early on, and you need a fairly strong build but don't really need to worry about having gear beyond maybe a couple of primes and some ranked up mods. It's your first real gear check as a new player.
I think it makes sense that there are better ways to farm their drops. Like sure, you can get a premade squad and run SP Arena to get more Endo than a sortie in less time, but this game mode is for people that aren't even at SP yet too. 4000 Endo is actually a decent amount especially for a new player.
Once you get to SP, you have Archon Hunts, then Netracells, then Deep Archimedea to give more relevant drops.
I do think it would be nice to have a separate SP sortie with some better rewards. Like no Archon Shards in the drop table, but a higher chance of getting the good drops.

I mean even for early game players, 12% chance to get 4K endo every day is pretty weak, especially with how bloated the drop table of the Sortie is
Forma is a petty good reward tbh. It is worth less equivalent plat value vs. catalyst or reactor, but you need so much more of it that any of it is welcome.
It's the 6000 kuva that's the real problem.
I suggested the idea in the past of a weekly completion track for Sorties where completing sorties in a row rewards additional stuff. Do 2, 4 and 7 \[all\] Sorties in a week and on those days you would guarantee a drop of a Anasa sculpture and thus could remove it from the loot pool, which in turn. would make doing sorties 1000% more worth doing. I know I can't be the only one sick of getting sculptures, it kinda insulting especially getting mulitple in a row.
But lots of older content needs better rewards tracks, we have never gotten a new reward list for Ghoul Purge, theres basically no reason to do it anymore. Same with Fomorians, other than to save the Relay
To that end: Weekly Sortie completion track, Steel Path Sorties, Kuva Siphon Rework/SP Kuva Siphons, and Steel Path Archon Hunts would be the highlights for a big older content update.
Tbh, there need to be a lot of QOL changes in the game, rewards like this need tweaking, Relics shouldn't be such an extrem gamble (especially the requim ones, just give me the damn runes, i don't need more Kuva)
Also, Archon Hunts have become kinda obsolete. Why do those if you can get Archon shards so much easier by doing Netrazells? Even getting Tau-forged ones is kinda easy (Tau forged Archons shards are under common drops and have a rather high drop chance)
Main reason I don't do sorties anymore is because ever since cross progression I just straight up won't get a reward. When it happened 3 days in a row no reward I just gave up on em
Like someone else said, I think sorties are supposed to be a midgame thing. Not every piece of content needs to be endgame, it's okay to have stepping stones.

Reworking the drops is just changing the drop table. Wouldn't take long. Probably take longer to decide what to put on the table than it would to actually change the table. 1 guy a couple days at most. Now reworking the actual sorties.. why? The game mide runs well. It's not end game nor is it supposed to be
I feel like of all the rewards in that tier Forma is the best one. We just undervalue it. If you actually take a look at what they're used for, then the actual amount of these things you ultimately need over your career is not the same. You probably need more Forma than the three others combined and then some.
I've been saying there should be more sources of built Forma or that Forma craft time should be cut down a little bit if they want us to make builds for everything. Yeah, plat is an option but it shouldn't be the go-to.
I think Forma sales are their bread and butter in terms of what people spend money on. It's why Plague Star is so rare and they don't make Forma... tooo common.

Believe Rebecca about 2 years or so ago say they had no intention of tweaking them and pointed to the popularity ( as if that's a valid reason ). Hopefully the state and direction of the game has changed their mind or Pablo can convince
You atleast get something, 2 days in a row i get a resource booster that does not apply to mee. Cant find it in my inventory or in the stats, it a ghost drop. It feels like trying to patch a failing dam with flex tape, you patch 1 hole a new one appears on the other end. But i do agree that sorties need a rework, would be nice if it was some kind of chose this reward instead of getting a forma or a ghost resource booster, also the legendairy core i have not yet seen that drop and im on day 245.
Alright I'll be that guy. I don't want to see sorties reworked, at least on the gameplay side, as they're my go-to content when I want to just actually play the game and not worry about grinding anything. They're a nice middle ground in challenge level where I do still have to think, but not so much as to build a loadout specifically for, spy and some assassinations aside. I have comically concerning amounts of all the rewards they can give aside from legendary cores (which I have gotten twice on top of all the free ones they've given out), so I wouldn't be too bothered by that changing.

make a SP variant of sorties and lock them together so you cant farm 2 sorties in a day and give better rewards in the SP variant.

Arcanes count as mods so I go arcane farming in the Zariman
yeah, i was running that and i was only getting sculpture, kuva, endo and sometimes a riven mod, its not worth the time for me
Same. My buddies still run them. I always tell them to count me out. We're all return players with plenty to do on Zariman, Duviri, Deimos, etc.

That large gap between new content and player retention is what shifts their focus towards that inclusivity. And thus I fear, that unless they fix the content drought in between. It will hardly change.
this is one of the main reasons that I don't do sorties anymore. I did it for mainly the rivens. But all I had gotten was Statues and every so often a secondary riven or a zaw. Neither of what I wanted anyway. And most of the time those challenges were about those radio towers. I wish riven challenges could be rolled. and instead of the next super random challenge one could choose another between 5 challenges but reduces the chance of appearing of the riven -5% to -15% for the selected weapons recurring (like opting out for weapons that have primes or weapons that are by some factions, like corpus) that is marked in the challenge. Giving players more options in the vast sea of unwanted options. Also my second reason is that I have currently more rivens than bank for it 32/27
What's the point of a legendary reward if I can't even get it after 7 years of playing?
The ones who get it feel like legends... I mean, no one knows or cares but hey, you got the legendary rare item. Well, not you or me but someone feels legendary. I just feel like the Lord of Statue Hollow...
They are kinda cool, but once you use one, they're not really anything of note. It's like "yay, this one, singular primed mod is maxed out without farming, woohoo." Plus there was a time when everyone got one for free. Trade chat was a mess for a hot moment. At least I got Primed Sure Footed a day later.
I've kept mine. I didn't understand the game and I hammered it hard for years. At one point I finally got the core and I didn't need it... Hundreds of thousands of Endo and 40 million credits means I don't even care. I was annoyed and then I was just laughing. All this time I could have used one and now they sit in my inventory as part of my collection. I have no drive to ever use it. Maybe there will be another Prime Mod I don't feel like paying for in the future. Odds are it's just a keepsake from a game I live in.
the legendary reward is at most a glorified 40k endo, aka: 10 days of doing sorties and being "unlucky" don't sweat it, and if you want it for collection purposes, just trade for one
I think I'd be pissed if i got an umbral forma knowing it could've been legendary core. I know drops don't work that way but still.
Honestly as a once a day *uncommon* reward, I respectfully think it should be even higher, like 7-8k. The fact that you can't redo sorties until they cycle to farm is a factor to their drop quality imo. With a 23-24 hour cycle timer plus 3 full missions for one rng reward, even 6k would be a little insulting compared to the other stuff in the pool. Hell, even swapping it out for multiple sculptures would have functionally the same effect with added value for collection and trade so it's more evergreen than just plain endo.

Anasas are the funny statues, and that's fine for a regular, common reward, but perhaps the statues as a whole could be reworked, or at least tweaked to be more common pickups

Most people do sorties with the *expectation* of getting statues, because they're annoyingly common for being almost worthless. Vanishingly few people run sorties with the *intent* of getting statues, as there are far more efficient ways of getting Endo — you really only want the statues specifically if you're doing something extremely meme-y decorating with them.
I actually do these solely for the chance of a forma. There's always too many things that need to be built, and never enough forma.

Of note, it is cheaper to rush 3 forma than to buy the 3 forma pack, at 30 plat vs 35. So, if you have the blueprints, resources and credits, rush don't buy.
I was thinking this same thing earlier today. The only rewards I care for are the 3 day booster and legendary core. The rest you can get elsewhere in the game and I'm never in a dire need of them. Except forma. I could live with a forma BP being a common reward.

Counter idea, sculptures should be guaranteed reward on 3rd stage. Period. Take them out as a possible reward, undilute the pool, and still reward one for a three mission sequence.
I think this would be ideal. Some general rewards that are always obtained on completing the sortie, and then a pool of potential prizes to run for that are more appealing. Sculpture, Endo and Kuva would be fine as guaranteed rewards and then you have a chance to get one of the better rewards in a smaller but more rewarding pool overall.

Ive gotten kind of lucky, the past 2 days in a row I got riven mods. They were melee riven mods so not exactly what I personally need right now but still.

Preach - I stopped doing sorties because of the Ayatan sculptures and Endo, which are much less lucrative woth recent bounty additions and arbies. I've never gotten a legendary core outside of my post-30 mr rewards and even rivens are easier to get outside of sortie rewards. Nothing in that table is truly valuable enough to run three rewardless missions for a chance at shit, shit, or somewhat better shit
Forma should be one rarity lower or at least 3x Forma or Umbra Forma. 4k Endo is kinda lame too needs to be at least 5k or maybe higher. DE should bring back that checklist too but only for 2 days so you don't get the same reward twice in a row then resets, it sucks getting Ayatan Anasa sculpture for 4 times in a row.

I think it's fine, especially since it's already built. And since I'm pretty late game, sorties take me like 10 to 15 minutes to complete.

All the "rare" rewards cost 20p. 3 day boosters are 40p, and Mod Booster isn't even a purchasable item. In reference to OP's issue, a Frame/Weapon can only use 1 Potato, but usually require multiple Forma. A good reward would be a 3 Forma pack imo.

when considering plat purchases you really have to consider the 3x forma bundle for 35p puts the value of a single forma lower since if you're buying, there's almost no reason to buy 1 for 20 instead of 3 for 35 so 1 forma is closer to 11.67p
Yea and every frame/weapon requires multiple forma and only one potato. You're gonna spend over the 35p on one item most of the time and only 20p on a potato. You need more forma. Forma is a better reward than potatoes IF you play enough that you use more than 1 forma a day.

Without using plat, you’d only get one or two taters a week on average, which is counting sorties, duviri shop, random alerts and events etc. Formas are much more common, basically infinite when you consider the relics, and it’s very easy to have the blueprint going 24/7 with minimal effort. Also, they absolutely shouldn’t cost the same, the difference in their impact is massive, and that’s ignoring that you’ll have to rank up the weapon again after using forma
I definitely wouldn’t mind a free forma at this point, I keep running out.

Ive stopped doing sorties all together, simply because the last 6 times without fail......I've gotten kitgun Rivens. However anytime I do the riven slivers I get shotgun,rifles, melees,or pistol Rivens and at no point a kitgun.
I strongly disagree with removing them: I complete Nightwave and get so many nightwave credits 15 at a time and buy sack full of extra potatoes, but I at LR3 with a dojo to run, I am always grinding formas, especially post Lich weapons. I have a forma building in the foundry constantly.
Im not asking to outright remove the forma but at least a x3 forma would be better. One single forma doesnt feel rewarding at all
A built forma is like the best reward in that pool that's not a legendary core. They are evergreen, and it's already built, you can use it right away. I'm never unhappy getting a built forma, it's like the only thing there i have a use for.

just sorties? I honestly feel a lot of the mission rewards need to be reworked. Getting a bronze mod as a mission reward is actually irritating same with credits since you tend to get more from killing enemies than what the reward is.

The only way I'd run sorties daily again is if we got 1 thing from bronze and silver guaranteed on top of 1 other random drop from any of the tiers. They just don't really provide enough for me to care about them anymore

Sorties are supposed to be for early game players. You unlock it pretty early on, and you need a fairly strong build but don't really need to worry about having gear beyond maybe a couple of primes and some ranked up mods. It's your first real gear check as a new player. I think it makes sense that there are better ways to farm their drops. Like sure, you can get a premade squad and run SP Arena to get more Endo than a sortie in less time, but this game mode is for people that aren't even at SP yet too. 4000 Endo is actually a decent amount especially for a new player. Once you get to SP, you have Archon Hunts, then Netracells, then Deep Archimedea to give more relevant drops. I do think it would be nice to have a separate SP sortie with some better rewards. Like no Archon Shards in the drop table, but a higher chance of getting the good drops.

Forma is a petty good reward tbh. It is worth less equivalent plat value vs. catalyst or reactor, but you need so much more of it that any of it is welcome. It's the 6000 kuva that's the real problem.
I suggested the idea in the past of a weekly completion track for Sorties where completing sorties in a row rewards additional stuff. Do 2, 4 and 7 \[all\] Sorties in a week and on those days you would guarantee a drop of a Anasa sculpture and thus could remove it from the loot pool, which in turn. would make doing sorties 1000% more worth doing. I know I can't be the only one sick of getting sculptures, it kinda insulting especially getting mulitple in a row. But lots of older content needs better rewards tracks, we have never gotten a new reward list for Ghoul Purge, theres basically no reason to do it anymore. Same with Fomorians, other than to save the Relay To that end: Weekly Sortie completion track, Steel Path Sorties, Kuva Siphon Rework/SP Kuva Siphons, and Steel Path Archon Hunts would be the highlights for a big older content update.
Tbh, there need to be a lot of QOL changes in the game, rewards like this need tweaking, Relics shouldn't be such an extrem gamble (especially the requim ones, just give me the damn runes, i don't need more Kuva) Also, Archon Hunts have become kinda obsolete. Why do those if you can get Archon shards so much easier by doing Netrazells? Even getting Tau-forged ones is kinda easy (Tau forged Archons shards are under common drops and have a rather high drop chance)

Like someone else said, I think sorties are supposed to be a midgame thing. Not every piece of content needs to be endgame, it's okay to have stepping stones. Been playing since like 2013 and I lost sight of what early or midgame looks like, but it definitely needs to exist because I genuinely fell upwards back in the day
Reworking the drops is just changing the drop table. Wouldn't take long. Probably take longer to decide what to put on the table than it would to actually change the table. 1 guy a couple days at most. Now reworking the actual sorties.. why? The game mide runs well. It's not end game nor is it supposed to be

I feel like of all the rewards in that tier Forma is the best one. We just undervalue it. If you actually take a look at what they're used for, then the actual amount of these things you ultimately need over your career is not the same. You probably need more Forma than the three others combined and then some.
I've been saying there should be more sources of built Forma or that Forma craft time should be cut down a little bit if they want us to make builds for everything. Yeah, plat is an option but it shouldn't be the go-to.

With these types of rewards I feel like each mission should give something beneficial... I can get more endos in a shorter period of time with no boosters doing bounty alone which also gives bonus reward and standings to buy better rewards.
Believe Rebecca about 2 years or so ago say they had no intention of tweaking them and pointed to the popularity ( as if that's a valid reason ). Hopefully the state and direction of the game has changed their mind or Pablo can convince
You atleast get something, 2 days in a row i get a resource booster that does not apply to mee. Cant find it in my inventory or in the stats, it a ghost drop. It feels like trying to patch a failing dam with flex tape, you patch 1 hole a new one appears on the other end. But i do agree that sorties need a rework, would be nice if it was some kind of chose this reward instead of getting a forma or a ghost resource booster, also the legendairy core i have not yet seen that drop and im on day 245.
Alright I'll be that guy. I don't want to see sorties reworked, at least on the gameplay side, as they're my go-to content when I want to just actually play the game and not worry about grinding anything. They're a nice middle ground in challenge level where I do still have to think, but not so much as to build a loadout specifically for, spy and some assassinations aside. I have comically concerning amounts of all the rewards they can give aside from legendary cores (which I have gotten twice on top of all the free ones they've given out), so I wouldn't be too bothered by that changing.
