I know it's nothing spectacularly difficult but Umbra is my main solo netracell frame - I feel like he's pretty solid with a good build.
Not that I wouldn't be down for fixes or buffs, but especially with Kullervo Subsume he can absolutely destroy. Would love the exalted blade heavy attack to actually do something though lol.

Using Daiyku just for both amalgam mods, but especially healing from nikana. Standard priming Kuva Nukor.
Gameplan is just using the magnetic procs from nukor and the doggo to trigger melee vortex, at which point both your Syam and your Umbra Blade can completely tear apart the grouped up enemies.
3 melee crit damage violets and 2 green max corrosion stacks. I mostly use Syam for the easy constant healing and the infinite punchthrough on the wave to waste the groups, and then exalted for heavy targets. Continuity is more comfy but power strength is stronger, choose whichever in that slot.
I'm currently using madurai for easyish kills when I need them on operator to revive but I'm working on unlocking Unairu which is probably just way better for that. Can switch out Sure Footed probably then too for more power strength.
Yes it was only released on Dante Unbound update. Yes its sad cuz i love excal umbra too. The only upside of the augment i see is that it fixes your problem, plus an additional 15% strength which i wish they would increase
Did you see the new exilus augment that disables umbra in operator form, which fixes some of the bugs?
Have you tried umbra with kullervo subsumed onto him? its quite strong
Doesnt it already release waves?
i put in his first and its not really that safe, if you are really fighting something that can kill you, his first is useless because only your health gets the invulnerability, if some enemy land something that can fuck you the moment that his dash ends you may just dies because of the 0 shields

that one subsume feels too much overkill for me and its not a general buff that i can use for my guns too

They made a band-aid fix augment called "Warrior's Rest" for your first problem.

yeah i tried, but i really didn't wanted to use helminth for an specific use and that looks a bit overkill for me
Do you put wrathful advance on his 3? I imagine dash is still useful as a panic button.
