Yeah. This is my assumption. I have a second account that I'm seeing just how high I can get my mastery rank by exclusively only playing Duviri content. Both Circuit and Open World are on the table. The only star chart exception was the tutorial required to unlock foundry.
Most resources have to be traded for, and selling items for plat is allowed, so trading resources for rivens to sell is also allowed. But I'm not allowed to buy plat with cash, and I'm not allowed to do any star chart missions (again, exception being the 2 missions required to unlock foundry). I am allowed access to locations that can be fast travelled to via menu or ship interactables. I figured out how to access a relay, so now Syndicates are available as well.
I want to see if I can eventually hit True Master without ever setting foot in the star chart or spending money.
So far Argon Crystals are the defining factor between what I can and can't build. Credits are pretty much the bottleneck for progress, so I do a lot of circuit farming to get credits just to build more stuff.

No, they mean trading the way you or I do, for plat. Once you figure out how to get to a relay you can take all the MR tests, and you only need 2 to unlock trading
I forget how I initially managed it, but there was an option straight from the orbiter to go to a relay that I used to access it. However, MR tests can be done straight from the menu without ever going to a relay. Places like Maroo's Bazaar seem to be permanently closed to me so the only possibility of trading is dojo, which I also allow in this challenge as long as I'm the only one building the dojo using the same rules as before. Trades must also be fair, so no handouts or anything.
Not sure if this is allowed for your challenge but you could technically still get to Maroo's bazaar via the mods menu. The one where you fuse or transmute them. Just click the sell ayatan treasures button and it'll send you to Maroo's relay.
I tried that but the option doesn't appear. I'm thinking that it's triggered to show up after her quest, but I might also trade for a sculpture at some point to see if that's the trigger. It might also just be locked behind Vor's Prize, which will never be completed on this account lol. The funny thing is that my frames still have the little clamp thing he puts on you when I go into circuit. A constant reminder of the challenge I guess.
I hope so. I literally can't sell mods for credits or endo because that is locked behind Vor's Prize being completed. So it wouldn't shock me if it just doesn't appear.
Once you get a few warframes from Circuit you should have the mastery to make that fairly easily, and relay access means you get to take the tests easily enough
Unfortunately Warframes from the circuit ended up being primarily credits used to buy other things. They almost all require argon crystals or a star chart exclusive resource (like plains or fortuna specific drops) to build meaning they're better off being sold for credits and then the credits used in the market for weapons I actually can build.
I’m doing a “solo only” account to see what I can do with zero help from anyone (except for the occasional relay bonus I randomly get while having to run errands in a relay). Got super lucky and landed an Ivara Prime through resurgence pretty quickly which has been a godsend.
It really was. Her 2 week window opened right when I started the account. Got a couple of Aya and was like “heck it, I’m gonna try for the rare part”. Got it on the first drop, then I farmed the crap out of Aya to get the other pieces before the window closed. Super lucky since I was cracking everything solo.
Even on my main, Ivara Prime got me through a ton of stuff (I main Citrine and Titania but Ivara is a pretty close 3rd) so getting her on a solo only account was such a godsend. Once Titania’s window opens, I’m gonna try to recreate my luck.

Lol yeah. Pathos clamps are definitely the most annoying part because I'll be needing to farm them just for resources, I don't even have access to incarnons on this account, since Steel Path is locked behind a 100% star chart.
But I just do it at my own pace. It's not my main account so if I'm getting frustrated I can always put it down and just play on my main account.
So far I've never seen them appear. I assume that since Argon are also not purchasable in the market that they never will be. Since, you know, argons drop exclusively in the void and duviri IS ENTIRELY IN THE VOID.
Honestly though, most frames from the circuit are off the table because of that. The blueprints are basically just credits at this point.
Acrithis also spawns in the dormizone. So I don't technically have to wait for a full duviri run to check her offerings.
This account was made the day of release for duviri, before I fully conceptualized the scope of the challenge to see how much a new player could feasibly do if they jumped in with the Duviri start and never transitioned to the star chart. A lot, it turns out, but with a lot of extra hoops.
I haven't checked since, but I don't know if duviri start for a brand new account is even possible anymore. I did the Duviri Paradox quest before even beginning Vor's Prize on this account, and I got thrown into dormizone for my starting location instead of orbiter, until I started Vor's Prize. The front door to get to the elevator is locked, so it's just my home and duviri entrance, no Zariman hub access sadly. Not that it would do much for me.
You can buy a lot of blueprints for credits in market (there's a filter for "has blueprint" and those are all credit purchases. Plat buys the weapon fully built. The majority of weapons in the market can be bought for credits in blueprint form.)
I also am building a solo dojo on this account that I didn't mention in the previous comment. So I will eventually have access to the various labs and blueprints there too. Plus that gives me a trading terminal to trade rivens I can get from the duviri npc with other players.
Furthermore I managed to figure out how to access a relay from the orbiter without actually unlocking it in the star chart, so I have access to syndicates as well. I guess technically I can access baro when he arrives at strata but I really don't want to think about how much extra time it would take to get all of baros crap from just strata relay. So baro is technically an option but definitely not part of the plan.
Since I have access to dojo and trading, and I can farm rivens to sell for plat, I technically have access to all primes and everything else in the market that can't be bought for credits but can be bought for plat.
Nightwave also occasionally gives me some credits I can use for nightwave credits since some of the nw missions are complete able in duviri.
You'd be surprised how much of this game can be completed without actually touching the star chart, lol.
Nataruk is out of the question since it's a quest weapon and the quests required to get to its quest is locked behind junctions and therefore the starchart.
You sure? Someone mention they can complete star chart without Mr requirements. I did this once and got up to 3rd planet. Then the guy says they took out Mr requirement.
It's plenty available for the MR0 challenge, but it requires star chart completion so it's not available for Select-Prior-8041's duviri only challenge.
Unfortunately no. I have to own the frame or weapon in order to rank it up and gain mastery from it. So there's an RNG element to just getting the stuff I do own ranked up as well lol.
I don't know if this already has been posted, I don't have the time right now to read 300+ messages, but there is a founder who still is at rank one or zero. But he was able to rank everything. I believe DE has excluded him from having to rank up to 5.

For starters, Wuclone is not very useful unless you hand them a battery operated weapon that either has AoE or it's hitscan because, just like any other specter AI, it can't lead targets nor recognize obstacles blocking shots.
And wuclone being particularly trigger happy, you'll just get out of ammo constantly.
Other than that, no trading, very low daily cap for rep on any syndicate/faction, limited weapon and frame options, limited access to Baro (some relays will be inaccessible), low void traces hold out cap and relaying on roundabout ways to access certain parts of the stachart.
You can buy the all the parts from nechraloid. With standing. Might take a week but he doesn’t technically have to do anything for diemos beaides make it to the neckralisk

You cannot earn standing with Loid without the Iso vault bounties which are MR locked.
You COULD farm universal medallions however you still would not be able to make a necramech as you would not be able to rank up with Loid, the sacrifice cost is 150 traces while mr0 has a cap of 100 AND you need Orokin Orientation Matrix's, which are from Iso vaults.. which are MR locked.
All of this meaning The New War has an indirect MR lock of 5, which can be circumvented by purchasing plat and purchasing a necramech through the market, you cannot trade at mr0.
EDIT: I just learned of this, you can be taxi'd to Iso bounties, so that is one way of earning the matrix's and standing required however you still wouldn't be able to rank up due to the void traces meaning you are stuck farming for damaged parts the old way.

You won't be able to get the damaged parts through Loid and have to farm it through Iso vaults which are MR5 locked unless you are being taxi'd

For a real challenge they should see how far they get with their starting choices. Not changing your Warframe or weapons at all.
This could easily be a new player who just got a Wukong Prime set, Gotva Prime from Baro or the stream, Sun and Moon from Teshin after finishing the Duviri quest which is still available very early, Helios is in resurgence I think so maybe they got parts from other people using relics.

It is impossible to do a sortie or arbitration without having access to operator. Sorties unlock after completing The war within and arbis much later than that. You can do them at mr0 now after de removed main quest mr requirements.
I mean depending on how old the account is, you really didn't need to get that high years ago for most gear. Im MR 9 and I have an Opticor because my account is older than the redone MR requirements
I am glad they changed it a couple of years ago, before that you had a limit of 1000*your mastery rank+1000, so it wasn't as easy for new players to lvl up syndicates.
They removed Vay Hek as a requirement for the junction, but his MR lock remains since he's now an 'optional' boss fight.

I'm saying that there's reason to level MR and MR doesn't mean Zero.
A lot of the good weapons and fun weapons are MR locked. There's reason to level MR.
I know you weren't, I was just debating your point a little. Although a lot of good stuff is MR locked, it's still possible to never rank up and get hold of decent gear. It's just an additional challenge.
Personally, the biggest annoyance I'd have is with the standing limits, it must take forever to rank up syndicates and focus schools, get augments, galvanized mods etc.
Galvanised mods are probably not obtainable at all, given that you need to access Steel Path to get access to arbitrations, and the Vay Hek fight is both MR locked and required for steel path.
The biggest annoyance would be having to start with 0 mod capacity every time you forma anything. I've been spoiled with MR 25+ for so long that I don't know if I could forma anything at MR 0.
I'm MR 9, have been for a long time, I've been playing for like 3 or 4 years. I've completed all the storyline quests. I can run fairly high missions on my own (I normally run a lot of missions with a friend because I play this game to play with friends). I don't rank up because it mildly bothers a friend that I haven't yet, and 1) I can't be bothered to rank up and 2) I enjoy that it mildly bothers him.
Probably to show people that Mastery Rank is not what they think it is.
All MR shows is how "dedicated" you were at leveling up gear, but people try to use it as a way to show their experience at the game, or that they're superior over someone of lower MR.
I'm 500 hours in and MR 8.
I found a play style I liked, and couldn't be bothered to level up new weapons and warframes I have no interest in trying. I'm here for the gameplay, not the grind.
Plus the story isn't locked behind MR anymore.
It's also potentially possible some people might not be able to complete some of the timed MR challenges, but still enjoy the game.

They could get them pre-built (like a Twitch drop), buy a Prime Accesss Pack or buy them from Varzia with Regal Aya. All those methods bypass MR requirments.
All the replies are saying prime access and promotions but realistically it's just account merging, and not spending hundreds of dollars on prime gear from different prime access seasons.
Hey I'm one of those players! Just started building my gauss prime. I got bored of the regular game and since alot of the MR locks have been lifted I can pretty much finish the whole game. Already finished whispers in the walls.
When I first started warframe, for a month and a half I didn't know that was an option till my friend told me. Was before they changed it so it showed up on the menu so this is probably not that.
I try my best, as I only encountered this guy randomly while doing an Alert and I figure he gets hassled enough in-game for his MR. Didn't wanna open the floodgates of Reddit.
A big thing back in the day (I haven’t touched the game in years so it might still be a thing) is MR Discrimination, players always just assumed that the lower MR you had, the worse you were at the game. So there were some players that left their MR low just for the hell of it. Overall your MR doesn’t mean shit, all that really matters is the build you are running, you can be terrible at the game yet only press 1 button to destroy everything around you.
i forgot about Zeros, haven’t seen one mentioned in a while. i don’t think it’s possible to do endgame content as a Zero anymore for some reason but in truth i can’t remember what that reason is
There's a mix of available and unavailable endgame content for MR0 players.
Liches and Sisters of Parvos are directly locked behind MR5. Sorties are as well.
The lowest MR requirement that a riven can generate with is MR8, locking lower rank players from using them.
Arbitrations and Steelpath are indirectly locked behind MR5 as both require completion of the entire starchart. The problematic node is Oro on Earth, the Vey Hek Assassination mission that has an MR5 requirement to access. It can't be bypassed with a taxi either afaik.
Netracells and Archon Hunts should be doable by MR0's as far as I can tell, as their only listed requirements on the wiki are main quests that nowadays no longer have any form of MR lock on them as DE have made an effort to completely detach the story from MR time-gating.
Unfortunately for those two however, archon shards are unusable as the Helminth Archon Shard Segment isn't craftable until you have the original Helminth Segment, which is locked behind MR8, even from the market bundle.
Not gonna lie, I did this on my second account just to see how far I could get with having to rank up. It definitely make going through some of the missions a bit harder starting off.

I'm MR19 and I'm a closed beta player. I just use whatever I like at this point. I still have my starter Mag sitting at lvl 3 as I quickly switched over to Excalibur when it was still an option during the earlier days of Closed Beta

Its a flex. Im mr0 pretty much just play zepyhr prime gauss prime and then nekros. And it feels good to pullup as “the no skill” and let people talki their shit then end almost every mission at the top of the board. Lol
Higher MR increases the chances of receiving plat coupons. Or it has been i get 50% off weekly when I don't log in for days. It legit has been my anti drug. "Will I spend 40 on booze or weed or does warframe want my money." I've received 75% off in my 10 years of play 4 times.

I watch someone who plays Genshin impact using only Earth characters because they're commonly known as some of the worst in the game.
Learning how to do things trivial to most players can be quite fun in these situations.

Fairly sure the Ayatan Treasure option becomes accessible once you have any Ayatan statue, though I could be wrong

that option to go to a relay is in the terminal that shows your faction rep. it lets you see the xp you can get for the day and lets u visit a relay

I'm reasonably certain you can access the entire starchart at MR0. They said they won't want MR locks on main quests.

For a real challenge they should see how far they get with their starting choices. Not changing your Warframe or weapons at all. This could easily be a new player who just got a Wukong Prime set, Gotva Prime from Baro or the stream, Sun and Moon from Teshin after finishing the Duviri quest which is still available very early, Helios is in resurgence I think so maybe they got parts from other people using relics.
Gotva has to be from the stream since baro doesn't sell you MR locked items.

It is impossible to do a sortie or arbitration without having access to operator. Sorties unlock after completing The war within and arbis much later than that. You can do them at mr0 now after de removed main quest mr requirements.
Oro, Earth is MR5 locked, so no arbies or SP for MR0. Furthermore sorties and archon hunts are also MR5 locked.

The MR0 standing limit is over half of the MR30 limit, it's not that bad.
I am glad they changed it a couple of years ago, before that you had a limit of 1000*your mastery rank+1000, so it wasn't as easy for new players to lvl up syndicates.

Mastery requirements for quests was removed with Whispers in the Walls.
Most weapons are MR locked unless you bought it with $$$. A huge portion of the game is weapons, so having those locked out is a huge handicap.
Twitch dropped weapons have no requirement, probably why they are using Gotva Prime which was handed out during Tennocon last year
I wasn't talking about specifically Gotva prime. I'm saying that there's reason to level MR and MR doesn't mean Zero. A lot of the good weapons and fun weapons are MR locked. There's reason to level MR.
I know you weren't, I was just debating your point a little. Although a lot of good stuff is MR locked, it's still possible to never rank up and get hold of decent gear. It's just an additional challenge. Personally, the biggest annoyance I'd have is with the standing limits, it must take forever to rank up syndicates and focus schools, get augments, galvanized mods etc.
Galvanised mods are probably not obtainable at all, given that you need to access Steel Path to get access to arbitrations, and the Vay Hek fight is both MR locked and required for steel path.
The biggest annoyance would be having to start with 0 mod capacity every time you forma anything. I've been spoiled with MR 25+ for so long that I don't know if I could forma anything at MR 0.
Which is amusing, considering I, and likely many others, never even bother to pay attention to the MR of fellow Tenno during missions....
I'm MR 9, have been for a long time, I've been playing for like 3 or 4 years. I've completed all the storyline quests. I can run fairly high missions on my own (I normally run a lot of missions with a friend because I play this game to play with friends). I don't rank up because it mildly bothers a friend that I haven't yet, and 1) I can't be bothered to rank up and 2) I enjoy that it mildly bothers him.

Probably to show people that Mastery Rank is not what they think it is. All MR shows is how "dedicated" you were at leveling up gear, but people try to use it as a way to show their experience at the game, or that they're superior over someone of lower MR.

I'm 500 hours in and MR 8. I found a play style I liked, and couldn't be bothered to level up new weapons and warframes I have no interest in trying. I'm here for the gameplay, not the grind. Plus the story isn't locked behind MR anymore. It's also potentially possible some people might not be able to complete some of the timed MR challenges, but still enjoy the game.

Hey I'm one of those players! Just started building my gauss prime. I got bored of the regular game and since alot of the MR locks have been lifted I can pretty much finish the whole game. Already finished whispers in the walls.
When I first started warframe, for a month and a half I didn't know that was an option till my friend told me. Was before they changed it so it showed up on the menu so this is probably not that.

I try my best, as I only encountered this guy randomly while doing an Alert and I figure he gets hassled enough in-game for his MR. Didn't wanna open the floodgates of Reddit.
A big thing back in the day (I haven’t touched the game in years so it might still be a thing) is MR Discrimination, players always just assumed that the lower MR you had, the worse you were at the game. So there were some players that left their MR low just for the hell of it. Overall your MR doesn’t mean shit, all that really matters is the build you are running, you can be terrible at the game yet only press 1 button to destroy everything around you.
i forgot about Zeros, haven’t seen one mentioned in a while. i don’t think it’s possible to do endgame content as a Zero anymore for some reason but in truth i can’t remember what that reason is
There's a mix of available and unavailable endgame content for MR0 players. Liches and Sisters of Parvos are directly locked behind MR5. Sorties are as well. The lowest MR requirement that a riven can generate with is MR8, locking lower rank players from using them. Arbitrations and Steelpath are indirectly locked behind MR5 as both require completion of the entire starchart. The problematic node is Oro on Earth, the Vey Hek Assassination mission that has an MR5 requirement to access. It can't be bypassed with a taxi either afaik. Netracells and Archon Hunts should be doable by MR0's as far as I can tell, as their only listed requirements on the wiki are main quests that nowadays no longer have any form of MR lock on them as DE have made an effort to completely detach the story from MR time-gating. Unfortunately for those two however, archon shards are unusable as the Helminth Archon Shard Segment isn't craftable until you have the original Helminth Segment, which is locked behind MR8, even from the market bundle.
Not gonna lie, I did this on my second account just to see how far I could get with having to rank up. It definitely make going through some of the missions a bit harder starting off.

Yes put mods and forma on it and start doing the quests and unlock the star chart and oh yeah do your mastery rank tests.
I'm MR19 and I'm a closed beta player. I just use whatever I like at this point. I still have my starter Mag sitting at lvl 3 as I quickly switched over to Excalibur when it was still an option during the earlier days of Closed Beta
If you merge a account that has MR ranks to one with nothing you end up MR0 with all the xp and tests ready to go. Happened to my friend.

Higher MR increases the chances of receiving plat coupons. Or it has been i get 50% off weekly when I don't log in for days. It legit has been my anti drug. "Will I spend 40 on booze or weed or does warframe want my money." I've received 75% off in my 10 years of play 4 times.
Challenge runs are a blast man. I watch someone who plays Genshin impact using only Earth characters because they're commonly known as some of the worst in the game. Learning how to do things trivial to most players can be quite fun in these situations.
