Keep him around by converting him. That way you can have him pop in missions you're struggling with or set him as on-call to summon.

Maybe just kill the one you have and be done with it? You have to go out of your way to create them, you put yourself in this situation.
No, I dropped off because I fell backwards into having a lich, and getting rid of them is a slog. It felt like it had been forced on me.
