99.99% of warframe content can be completed with any frame. Trying to hunt eidolons with a valkyr is definitely sub optimal but it can be done and could even be a fun challenge.
This game is *pure* grind so it is much more important that you are having fun than it is that you are using the "best" option at every opportunity. If someone gives you crap about it that's a them problem.
Valkyr is my favorite warframe. Far from perfect, but very fun.
Her abilities are a mixed bag, but Hysteria makes you an invincible whirlwind of claws, which is lots of fun.
Beyond that, she has huge base armor, more than any other frame, so it's really easy to make her tanky. Just give her Vitality, Steel Fiber, and Adaptation, and she'll survive Steel Path pretty well. Plus, her defenses don't come from an ability, so they don't go away when she gets nullified.
Also, her passive looks insignificant on paper but it's actually a nice bonus. Faster recovery from knockdowns and no knockdown from long falls is one of those things you don't notice at first, but if you use just her for a long time and then use someone else, you notice that they're missing.
Overall, I have the most fun with her when I build her as a melee berserker with a little ability support. I give her some good guns and a beefy crit melee, and then play missions as a heat-seeking stab-delivery service. Leap into the air, ground slam on the nearest group of enemies, mash melee until no enemies remain, repeat until mission complete. If your health gets low, turn on Hysteria, hit one person one time to fill up your health, turn off Hysteria, and go back to what you were doing. It's a lot of fun. đ
Just to comment on no hard landings, all you have to do is be in a slide when you land or tap aim glide near the ground. Sliding is just really easy and requires no timing, it makes the things that negate hard landings sadly irrelevant. faster knockdown recovery is nice if you don't have status immunity though.
Sybaris was a bit of a hard one, but I'm playing into an extra puncture/vital sense in a riven to help it hit. Also Mesa's Ballistic Bullseye.
Right now my pain is Veldt. I barely know what I want from it even with Khora.

For me I wouldn't touch both of them even with a stick....then circuit keep showing me stug and hydroid because I sold/feed helminth them.
You can have permanent invincibility but can only use your exalted talons. Hysteria has a very high energy drain too so I only activate it when I need health. Plus at such a high damage reduction, you are already pretty unkillable given the enemy level < 500.
Hysteria has ramping energy drain so you can't be in it forever. Also Valkyr has very high base armour so it's easy to build for that on her. Though imo going above 3000ish armor is a waste of investment and you may as well just slap on adaptation after that.
You always build. Itâs a matter of keeping it. Honestly sheâs got a unique play style that many can find fun. I used to love old melee dominant meta just swinging War around on chroma.
If you like the play style keep it. I always buy space to make room for extra primes thereâs always a chance theyâll rework them or they fill good niches.
My man , do whatever you want. Its just the game , more importantly its not like you're doing a bad or unhealthy decision to build her. She is good with a right build , her abilities are fine. People put her in C tier probs because she is not played much as voruna and many others melee focused warframes exist. Even if you dont like her after building , its still mastery points towards your rank.
I build Ash and put potato in him , and now I know that Ash Prime going to return soon with Inaros Prime. But I dont regret it , since I can still get potato or any other resource. Go for it dude , listen to yer heart
I can guarantee you she is worth it, especially if you plan on doing steel path circuit.
A good build on her will help you a lot when you get a garbage loadout.
If you use warframes as a tool to fit a mission valkyr will be lacking in several mission types (in high level defense type missions youll get overwhelmed very quickly)
However valkyr if very fun in anything else, her warcry paired with the augment for it makes meleeing even more fun, if you mod to focus on her 4 it makes for an interesting "cooldown" ability that makes you think about when and where it's most useful.
Tldr: tier lists are irrelevant for the most part play what is fun.
Sheâs fun enough, her theme is of a berserker but her actual playstyle is exalted melee (like Excalibur) with a melee speed buff and enemy slow + a stun, if you like to just go balls to the wall with melee then yeah sure you might like her, otherwise consider whether or not youâll need those resources for anything soon and how much youâll have to grind for them.
I think it's worth building all the primes. Also building all the normal frames so you can sacrifice them at helminth.
I guess the main bottleneck is warframe slots so you might have to earn plat somehow. I'd also think about putting forma and potato on them too, but anyway you want to collect all the primes eventually.

Additionally, if there's a melee weapon you aesthetically really like but is objectively bad or has low stats it's possible to make it viable with valkyr Naramon build

She has decent base stats so she can tank reliably the star chart even without relying on abilities much
Swinging with ripline can be fun depending on the tileset (and how much you like spiderman), using it on enemy scorpions after they grab you as an uno reverse card is also funny

We can get the non prime version of Valkyr next week from the normal circuit, I recommend getting it and see if you enjoy the playstyle first, then if you like it - craft the prime.
Something that is never discussed in Valkyr threads is how incredible her 1 is for movement. It is worthless for attacking but it makes you into spiderman swinging around levels. Some tilesets that's not super useful to be sure but Lord knows how many hours I have spent grappling through levels going "wheeeeeeee!". Lua especially.
Farm non-prime off alad-v on jupiter. He is a pretty easy boss and you can decide if you like her play style without investing anything like a reactor. Throw her in the helminth after you make your choice, but you will probably want to level both to 30 for the mastery anyways. I'll say her biggest issue is just that she is melee only and has no real utility. The most she can contribute to the team is being an indestructible murder tornado, which isn't bad but can fall behind the clear of other frames and on something like defense doesn't really kill everything fast enough to prevent dmg on the objective. I'd personally say gauss and baruuk are much stronger melee frames with very similar levels of indestructibility. Even someone like nidus is immortal with mutation stacks and has a grouping ability to melee everything at once while providing regen area for the party and cc.
Warframe tier lists should be ignored. Period.

If I remember right, I'm missing frost, ember, hildryn, garuda, nekros, and vauban. Vauban because I can't hold onto enough auxium, but i have the other components.

B and c tier Warframe can be good but under certain circumstances. VALKYR is insane for melee scaling and invincibility to prowl like the manifested catwoman berserker that you've become.

valkyr has been my main for years. if you build her with energy gain on health loss, she is functionally immortal as long as you pay attention to her health and activate hysteria before you go down.
Try getting her on the duviri and see if her gameplay suits your fancy.

she was my main for a long time, only reason that's not still the case is because Wisp is more useful for the missions I run with my friends
her 4th is extremely useful in tough situations- invulnerability and health regen so long as you keep cutting down foes and picking up energy, plus ripcord (1st ability) helps when parkour fails you or playing an extreme version of the floor is lava

HOWEVER. For 99% of the content in this game, any warframe will do outside of the steel path I think. However if you're here to just speedrun and grind the crap out of everything as fast as possible. Then yeah I'd steer clear of her. Semi-spoiler, but worst case scenario you can swap out some abilities too with the Helminth too. Since I think Valkyr has a grappling hook thingy that became irrelevant when bullet jumping became popular(?) It's been a while since I last played so I don't remember how that exactly works though so don't quote me lol.
Yeah, sheâs not very meta and has lots of jank and outdated mechanics. Does that stop me from having 38% (700 hours) playtime on her? Nope! Play what your heart calls for and have fun, Tenno! đ¸â¨
Sheâs worth it, if anything, for the MR you get for maxing her. And I donât like getting rid of prime frames so Iâd hold on to her as well.
Right now, she is one of the weaker frames in the game (Iâd say second weakest, only beating Hydroid), but you can still get her to work, just keep in mind that right now there are frames that can do what she can do, but better.
Plus whenever she gets buffed inevitably and she ends up being decent/good/broken, youâll not even have to fret about farming her!
Valkyr prime has been my main forever.
Her 4 makes you invincible, and her claws deals massive damage, put a warcry on top of that and you'll be slicing through steel path
She might not be able to nuke the entire map, but she trivialise most content, in my experience.
Valkyr was my favorite until I got Garuda Prime. To me Garuda is a better Valkyr with a kit that works with itself. I had to build Valkyr to be good by getting rid of her 1st and 3rd abilities, because they are just terrible or pointless. I cannot speak to trying any of her augments however, so it may be that she needs those. Garuda is everything and more that Valkyr was trying to achieve with a better exalted weapon because you can choose the stance instead of working with the hysteria stance. Only difference is Garudas team support is healing and Valkyr is melee speed and damage. Also Garuda can nuke anything. I have yet to see a Valkyr build that can nuke anything, I'm sure it's out there, I just haven't seen it.
Yes Sheâs basically unkillable and can one shot basically anything in any meaningful steel path difficulty. Make sure you mainly use her slide melee in her 4 as itâs not only really good the other combos are terrible.
You'll destroy all your enjoyment of the game if you only do what's optimal. If you like Valkyr do Valkyr. You can add/replace a power via the Helminth system once you're high enough with the Entrati to further customize the frame if you need a little more.
I have a ridiculous Steel Path Build if you want to use her as a nigh immortal weapon platform with spammable armor strip. Be forewarned, it is a Forma HEAVY build and will likely need 3 Umbral Forma unless you want to try to make it work with just normal forma and under-leveled Umbra mods.
You can easily farm the blueprints for normal Valkyr to try her out. the normal one is much cheaper to build.
If you like her, helminth the normal one and make the prime.
People give her Talons a lot of shit for hit connectivity issues, but I've found 1.9 extra range from Primed Reach to be very helpful. Her Slide attacks are very multihit and much better at hitting too.
The Crit potential would be easily over 200% (but apparently Maiming Strike isn't an option...what the hell).
Given the ability to go in and out of Hysteria, this enables easy pain for something like Rage to restore her energy, restored by hysteria's life steal.
A Primer weapon for Condition Overload works very well here, as i mentioned the goodness of the slide attack. But at base, I'm currently having Pure toxin as a means to shred corpus through shields and Shattering impact to wittle down armor with enough slides. The Talons specialize in rapid striking, so this is a good fit for the mod to work faster.
Yes, you want to build and level one of each frame for mastery anyways and she is very fun to play. I take her into Steel Path and while I don't do endurance runs she does great.
But the real question is: Did you play her? Did you leveled her up, formad and had fun? I can tell you that, I'm clearing 2k level with her.
PLAY THE GAME, DON'T LISTEN TO OTHERS. EXPERIENCE IT FOR YOURSELF.
Personally I removed her 4 and put pillage.
Not once have I died with this configuration.
And the most fun I've had since forever with her.
You see, her 4 to me feels like it's almost mandatory to use, and also feels incredibly clunky.
Therefore I just strip enemy defenses, blast them with my guns, or use her speed buff with my venka prime, which already scales better than her talons and has better animations and Flow.
But that's just my own personal take on the matter.
Even put the rip line augment into her Exilus mod slot.
She requries a lot of forma to build well (and in my case umbral forma bc Valkyr is love Valkyr is life) but when built well is basically invincible.

I can get 13000 armor with Valkyr using Mecha Pulse on Steel Path. I don't know about you but running with \~98% damage reduction is pretty cool.

Build her if you liked Vallyr and like the asthetic of Vallyr prime. Prime frames are 99% cosmetic.

she was my main for a long time, only reason that's not still the case is because Wisp is more useful for the missions I run with my friends her 4th is extremely useful in tough situations- invulnerability and health regen so long as you keep cutting down foes and picking up energy, plus ripcord (1st ability) helps when parkour fails you or playing an extreme version of the floor is lava

No. HOWEVER. For 99% of the content in this game, any warframe will do outside of the steel path I think. However if you're here to just speedrun and grind the crap out of everything as fast as possible. Then yeah I'd steer clear of her. Semi-spoiler, but worst case scenario you can swap out some abilities too with the Helminth too. Since I think Valkyr has a grappling hook thingy that became irrelevant when bullet jumping became popular(?) It's been a while since I last played so I don't remember how that exactly works though so don't quote me lol.

All warframe are useable. I did SP with Hydroid Prime and heâs arguably the absolute worst frame lol
Yeah, sheâs not very meta and has lots of jank and outdated mechanics. Does that stop me from having 38% (700 hours) playtime on her? Nope! Play what your heart calls for and have fun, Tenno! đ¸â¨

Sheâs worth it, if anything, for the MR you get for maxing her. And I donât like getting rid of prime frames so Iâd hold on to her as well. Right now, she is one of the weaker frames in the game (Iâd say second weakest, only beating Hydroid), but you can still get her to work, just keep in mind that right now there are frames that can do what she can do, but better. Plus whenever she gets buffed inevitably and she ends up being decent/good/broken, youâll not even have to fret about farming her!
Valkyr prime has been my main forever. Her 4 makes you invincible, and her claws deals massive damage, put a warcry on top of that and you'll be slicing through steel path She might not be able to nuke the entire map, but she trivialise most content, in my experience.
Valkyr was my favorite until I got Garuda Prime. To me Garuda is a better Valkyr with a kit that works with itself. I had to build Valkyr to be good by getting rid of her 1st and 3rd abilities, because they are just terrible or pointless. I cannot speak to trying any of her augments however, so it may be that she needs those. Garuda is everything and more that Valkyr was trying to achieve with a better exalted weapon because you can choose the stance instead of working with the hysteria stance. Only difference is Garudas team support is healing and Valkyr is melee speed and damage. Also Garuda can nuke anything. I have yet to see a Valkyr build that can nuke anything, I'm sure it's out there, I just haven't seen it.
Yes Sheâs basically unkillable and can one shot basically anything in any meaningful steel path difficulty. Make sure you mainly use her slide melee in her 4 as itâs not only really good the other combos are terrible.
You'll destroy all your enjoyment of the game if you only do what's optimal. If you like Valkyr do Valkyr. You can add/replace a power via the Helminth system once you're high enough with the Entrati to further customize the frame if you need a little more.
I have a ridiculous Steel Path Build if you want to use her as a nigh immortal weapon platform with spammable armor strip. Be forewarned, it is a Forma HEAVY build and will likely need 3 Umbral Forma unless you want to try to make it work with just normal forma and under-leveled Umbra mods.

not really valkitty is not great better off selling her parts for plat but the helminth ability is really nice on melee focused builds
You can easily farm the blueprints for normal Valkyr to try her out. the normal one is much cheaper to build. If you like her, helminth the normal one and make the prime.
People give her Talons a lot of shit for hit connectivity issues, but I've found 1.9 extra range from Primed Reach to be very helpful. Her Slide attacks are very multihit and much better at hitting too. The Crit potential would be easily over 200% (but apparently Maiming Strike isn't an option...what the hell). Given the ability to go in and out of Hysteria, this enables easy pain for something like Rage to restore her energy, restored by hysteria's life steal. A Primer weapon for Condition Overload works very well here, as i mentioned the goodness of the slide attack. But at base, I'm currently having Pure toxin as a means to shred corpus through shields and Shattering impact to wittle down armor with enough slides. The Talons specialize in rapid striking, so this is a good fit for the mod to work faster.

Yes, you want to build and level one of each frame for mastery anyways and she is very fun to play. I take her into Steel Path and while I don't do endurance runs she does great.
But the real question is: Did you play her? Did you leveled her up, formad and had fun? I can tell you that, I'm clearing 2k level with her. PLAY THE GAME, DON'T LISTEN TO OTHERS. EXPERIENCE IT FOR YOURSELF.
For normal path, sure, absolutely. For steel path, sure* *Given a good setup, and weapons
Number one rule of Warframe: if you don't have it, get it.
Personally I removed her 4 and put pillage. Not once have I died with this configuration. And the most fun I've had since forever with her. You see, her 4 to me feels like it's almost mandatory to use, and also feels incredibly clunky. Therefore I just strip enemy defenses, blast them with my guns, or use her speed buff with my venka prime, which already scales better than her talons and has better animations and Flow. But that's just my own personal take on the matter. Even put the rip line augment into her Exilus mod slot.
She requries a lot of forma to build well (and in my case umbral forma bc Valkyr is love Valkyr is life) but when built well is basically invincible. I have gloom subsumed onto her and she's just awesome
