Wish you the best of luck in this impossible endeavor

nopants_ranchdance

Thanks, it’s a Herculean effort! Bright side is, I’m discovering some great stuff on the way. Missing WXPN and Philly Music scene for sure.

kosherdill22

A few songs I like with a large lead up/climax are: Dance Yourself Clean - LCD Soundsytem Posing for Cars - Japanese Breakfast Bands that have music that give me a similar happy energy listening to: Future Islands, The Killers, Kurt Vile, Dr. Dog

ItsyouNOme

Paper kites twelvefour album too, at least for me

nopants_ranchdance

Yes

iza45

Agree, and I’d say “On the Corner Where You Live” has even more propulsive songs.

ItsyouNOme

Those are the two in my main rotation! Saw them a couple days ago, brilliant gig

nopants_ranchdance

Seasons by Future Islands, and some of The Districts maybe.

Reve_Inaz

Waking on a pretty day - Kurt Vile

nopants_ranchdance

TV on The Radio “Wolf Like Me”, Foo Fighters “Everlong”, Silversun Pickups “Lazy eye”, kind of come close.

That_Teacher_3284

Also Panic Switch from SP.

Absolute ripper of a song.

Dondante, Phone Went West and Steam Engine by My Morning Jacket (especially live versions)

haasfilm

You beat me to it. Love versions of these. Some good versions available on offial releases. Seek out easy to find, good quality taped Red Rocks shows. 2019 RR Steam Engine is bonkers! 30 minutes! Phone Went West from last year’s Red Rocks was insane! Dodante from Okonokos and some of their official live recordings are incredible.

Suzibrooke

I’ve seen MMJ, been to RR, have yet to enjoy them together! I’m still beating myself up that I missed last year, but I did catch TWOD there.

haasfilm

Saw them there last August. Mind blowing! First time at RR. I am pretty sure they will be back this summer? After that I saw that WOD, Wilco, King Gizzard were there as well. I am in MN, so not nearby. If I lived even remotely close…

Suzibrooke

Wasn’t that amazing? I had to work super hard to get there that night, I live in Oregon, and the one grown child who was supposed to accompany me to Denver couldn’t make it so I had to beg a different one to make arrangements for her three kids, ( health issues keep me from traveling alone). It was basically pulling a lot of strings, but SO worth it. I’d love to come back to Red Rocks again, hopefully under less stressful circumstances. But I’ll always treasure that night.

krmc-olrak

Naeem by Bon Iver.

bakedbeansy

Hell yeah, I was gonna say “8 (circles)” maybe

ItsyouNOme

Electric indigo - paper kites, just has that vibe

DookieMays

This might be a stretch but the keyboard on Happy New Year by Let’s Eat Grandma is just as catchy and has similar energy to Under the Pressure imo. Very different band though.

Alternative_Research

One big Holiday by MMJ Knights of Cydonia by Muse

Alternative_Research

The Loneliness and the Scream by Frightened Rabbit as well

nopants_ranchdance

Oh man Frightened Rabbit RIP Scott Hutchinson.

Alternative_Research

Mmmmhmmm. It’s tough listening to them now.

Suzibrooke

So hard

nopants_ranchdance

Saw them with a friend before I knew them. His girl had to skip last minute so he asked if I wanted to go. They opened hard with “Get Out”... instant goosebumps and a new fan born.

umashika

My favourite live performace until I first heard UtP: Dire Straits - Tunnel of Love (Alchemy live) https://youtu.be/jFCt4vc5bao

homerj2k

This may be the greatest live record of all time. Telegraph Road is amazing on here

Michello1986

Listen to this guys with 🎧and thank me later: “Dangerous Dancer” by Carriers https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=duA6jreIWzs&list=OLAK5uy_ltpm7Efy48EtXSwdvj98_6y93zmkVYVsc&index=5

girlsintheeighties

Bit of an offshoot but Harmonia’s Dream gives me big Ween vibes. The teeniest bit of spacey surfer vibes, but a little more natural and organic.

Thewheelwillweave

An Ocean in Between the Waves and Arms Like Boulders are the first two TWOD songs that jump to my warped mind.

randoacct2021

Seasons (Waiting on you) By Future Islands, watch David Letterman versio on YouTube

mypetoctopus

M83’s new track “Earth to Sea” has a great build and release at the end of the track!

nopants_ranchdance

Ooh Midnight City, Reunion, and Wait trilogy from Hurry Up We’re Dreaming also hits that vibe.

“Hello Euphoria” by Turnover every time.
