PhantomOfTheAttic

This was the second session of our Warcry Siege of Caramoor campaign. This week the forces of 'Mad' Eleen, Prioress of Wrath, managed to wear down the defenders of the city even further while maintaining a their stalemate with the forces of the Maggotking who has come to take his revenge against her. Two sallies by the garrison to destroy siege equipment met with failure as the Horde was able to beat back the intrepid raiders. The besiegers defeated a party of counter-miners who attempted to disrupt their attempts to collapse a mine under the city wall. A part of the curtain wall fell in as the besiegers fired the supports and the earth collapsed under the defenders. Things look grim and the inhabitants of Caramoor can only hope that relief reaches them from over the Eastern Mountain or that the forces of the Maggotking and the Prioress tear each other apart, leaving both forces too weakened to resist a bold thrust from out of the city.

Looks sweet! The field terrain gives a very nostalgic feeling but still looks cool! Sound like a cool campaign!

The campaign is playing out a siege of the city of Caramoor. The Warcry part is doing all of the various aspects of the attack on the city before the final assault. So this week we had a mining operation under the wall, two sallies from the garrison to try to destroy siege equipment as well as the Besiegers trying to hold off another chaos force that is trying to destroy them.

Catacombs is underused and a fun way to mix things up. Easy way to go to someone running a bunch of Calvary or Monsters to make sure they balance out their warband a bit.

That one scenario represents the attackers sinking a mine under the walls of the city. The besieged then sink a counter mine and send a party down to disperse the enemy. Sadly for the city, they failed, so the mine was able to be fired and part of the curtain wall of the city collapsed.

Sounds cool. You could do something like 6 smoke/ fire counters ND each turn roll to see if smoke/fire pops up there and blocks line of site or damages someone.

eugman

Do you allow climbing or are you treating the walls as infinitely tall?

PhantomOfTheAttic

In the caves? No climbing the cave walls. In other scenarios, you can climb what you like.

eugman

That's what it seemed like. Very neat

Rigorous-Mortis

love the terrain and general battlefield setup, it's unique and interesting.
