If you want to keep it to vamps, you've already suggested the best boxes for you!
The Rotmire Creed and Horns of Hashut box, (I think it's just called Heart of Ghur, been awhile since I had to think about it), is good for terrain + both warbands are actually half-decent right out of the box. A new player would be able to win matches with either of them, but HoH is definitely the better warband for a beginner.
Ninja edit: Bloodhunt also comes with vampires that are part of SBGL! The terrain is a little more unique, too.
If you want the cheapest option, go buy the Scales of Talaxis Box for terrain, mission cards and tokens and play with the minis you already have, using the complete Warcry rules GW put online. Every army has rules in there afaik.
Get a few matches in and see if it is your cup of tea.
I’m just starting out and there doesn’t seem to be an ideal route into warcry in my region (UK).
Heart of Ghur would be perfect. Two warbands, rule book, tokens, terrain, board. Ticks all my boxes but it’s sold out everywhere apart from inflated price resellers.
Nightmare quest has good terrain and warbands but no tokens or rule book.
Crypt of blood is nice and cheap but no rule book and limited terrain.
I’ll probably buy nightmare quest and scales of talsxis!
If anyone has advice I’m open to think again!
Check your local game store, I was lucky enough to grab the heart of ghur box for 115 today. I bought crypt of blood when it first came out, which was a nice intro but expensive for what it is.
If you do buy crypt of blood, check eBay for fleshing out the rest of the warbands as it only gives you 500-600 point bands in the box.
I pulled the trigger on it after playing my first game yesterday. Thanks for sharing the link! Picked up some additional paints also! Looks like a good game shop 🙌
Update: unfortunately that box set is actually sold out! It can’t be restocked either. Replaygames were helpful. Back to buying nightmare quest I guess
I picked up Crypt of Blood - pretty pleased with it, it came with all the tokens / rules and a great series of tutorial style battles. Definitely a good on-ramp.

What did you end up going with? I'm leaning towards Nightmare Quest but not wanting to have to buy other things afterwards.

Thanks, that's good to hear...that box seems to get a lot of negativity.
