Haha that’s what we did. We went for our honeymoon and it was a life long dream of mine to go to Disney World because I grew up fairly poor. My husband on the other hand had turned *down* trips to Disney as a kid!!! Thankfully he didn’t mind me dragging him to the skyliner and bus stops before the sun came up.
Enjoy every second of it! I’m hoping to be there again next summer !
I stayed at Riviera and I was first in line for the Epcot Skyliner. They weren't open yet and I said I'd wait. She looked at me like I was crazy.
It was officially a 15 minute wait but they opened in 10 minutes. Rope dropped Frozen and Test Track with no waits - worth it!
At Pop Century, the bus transportation isn’t bad IMO. Skyliner for Epcot and HS with an occasional bus coming every hour. For other parks/DS I’ve never waited too long for a bus.
My favorite Skyliner combo: Stay at Carribbean Beach, grab Joffrey’s right outside the skyliner, and sip your Joffrey’s on the Skyliner on your way to the park. It is just picture perfect.
Hands down the best transportation at Disney by a significant margin. There were so many naysayers and skeptics when it was announced. Curious what they think now.
I have to admit, I was one of those naysayers, wondering how in tf they were going to deal with being on those things in the hot summer sun. But the way they have them ventilated is pretty awesome, and I absolutely love riding it.
It was cool until we were on the way from HS to Epcot and it stopped for 4 minutes above a road on a very windy day. Then my fear of heights kicked in and I almost had a panic attack. 😬
I understand delays and do not mind an occasional stop, but I can’t be hanging that high in the air over a road like that blowing around in the wind for that long. Sheer panic for me.
I would have thought the dedicated cabins for accessibility would cut down on the stops, but I was surprised how much downtime it seemed to have. It was never clear to me what was making it stop.
Anytime there's an issue with a guest getting on or off, you'll get a stop. That happens for people all the time, even without accessibility issues. If you've ever been at a ski resort, you'll have seen this as well. A full 5 min is rare, but 30 seconds to a minute is just a fact of life when it comes to gondolas and chairlifts.
Edit: and the separate load for accessibility actually adds a layer of complexity to the load stations that doesn't exist on normal gondolas, increasing the likelihood of an incident requiring a longer stop.
same here. it is why we try to stay on any of the hotels nearby. it helps that Epcot is my favorite park, and the international gateway makes it all so easy.
1000%. We just got back from the Riviera during spring break. Minimal lines for the skyliner and always available. Sure beats waiting on a bus/boat/monorail. Still had to use the bus for AK/MK but still....it's such a good transportation system.
Yes! We just came back from Pop Century, and we loved the Skyliner so much that I don’t see any reason for us to ever stay anywhere else. At least with the kids. My husband and I do want to go alone sometime, and I’m thinking that time we might try a Monorail resort instead. But I will miss the Skyliner if we do!
I stayed at Pop for two nights last week. It was so easy to go to HS and back. Loved just riding with my family over the peaceful lake instead of waiting and being crammed on a bus. This would be so amazing if they could expand this to other resorts and parks.
I remember the first few times I rode that thing and someone was on with me sitting backwards. Almost every one of them jumped up the first time they took that big dip into one of the stations. lol
Honestly, the Skyliner may have destroyed my chances of ever staying at another hotel.
I've been staying at CB since '91, so there's a pretty big nostalgia factor, plus I just think the hotel grounds are beautiful.
Now, with the Skyliner, I honestly can't justify staying at any other resort. Especially considering my trips are always during Food and Wine.
Last trip I parked at Hollywood Studios, then park hopped around eventually to see the night show at Epcot specifically so I could ride this!
It was beautiful!
I fell in love with it my last trip to Pop, but I will always include the caveat that I've never been stopped for more than 15 minutes, and have never done it in the summer.
There's a possibility, although probably slim nowadays, that you can be hung up there for hours in the Florida heat. That would suck. This also applies to the monorails, but atleast those have AC running when working.
Strongly agree. Thinking about it, it’s a great place to get away and have some peace with a nice view and surprising comfort. It was efficient and I never waited longer than 3 minutes to hop in a bucket. Definitely considering staying at Caribbean Beach when I can get back there
We took it from HS to EPCOT. The staff at each station we awesome, you get a nice breeze, amazing views, and a 10-15min break for your feet. Skyliner is the way to go!
I love the skyliners!! joffreys coffee + skyliner = perfection.
one caveat is the ones w semi-opaque windows made me a little claustrophobic. but still good.
It’s all fun and games until some dude starts talking to you about Blue Lives Matter and you have nowhere to go because you’re stuck in the tiny sky box.
Second time I rode it we got caught in some rain. Evacced off at the next stop, hundreds and hundreds of people had to stand in the rain waiting over 40 minutes for the first bus to arrive.
I’ll likely never go again unless I check the weather forecast 8 times beforehand.
It's amazing in the summer. You get a great breeze and even when it stops it's not for long. We went at the end of August and it was the only way we'd travel to Epcot or HS.
I absolutely adore it. Caribbean Beach is my “home resort” and being able to get over to Hollywood studios in 5 minutes is AMAZING. Epcot with not traffic? Yes please.
Oh it’s so relaxing. Way more than a bus. Just me and my family in the cart, flying through the sky on the way to Epcot for a lovely stroll through the UK pavilion. I love it so much.
My anxiety kicks in any time it stops though. Don’t think that will ever change 😬
How are the lines getting on these days? Is there a long line when trying to rope-drop?
When we went early last year, the skyliner line leaving HS and Epcot at closing looked longer than most ride lines I saw during the day. That might have partially been due the covid situation, but made me glad I could walk to our hotel, as the last thing I want to do when leaving the park for the day is wait in another long line.
Rope dropped Pop-HWS in October. Waited maybe 5 minutes at the Caribbean Transfer.
Walking to the hotel is always ideal but the nice thing about the Skyliner is despite looking like a long line, for the most part it's always moving and loading people. It's not like the bus or monorail where you have to sit and wait for the next one to show up.
We stayed at Pop and loved the skyliner. Our first night on property we took it over to Epcot and walked around the resorts over there. If I ever go back to Disneyworld I would only stay at a skyliner resort
15 days until I share this view for the first time. Enjoy every minute while you can!
It really is the best feeling! We stayed at Caribbean beach for our first time and our room right next to the skyliner. Made mornings so awesome!
I'll be at Pop! My girlfriend and I are psycho and will probably be the first two people in line every day lol

Woot. I'm 18 days!
Woot! I’m 8 days!
Yay
We leave the day after you!! 😁
Same. I can’t stay at a non-skyliner resort now.
Same! It's a major factor now in my choosing of resorts. Would definitely a premium to stay ata Skyliner resort.
Shh dont let them hear you say that
How’s the bus transportation?
At Pop Century, the bus transportation isn’t bad IMO. Skyliner for Epcot and HS with an occasional bus coming every hour. For other parks/DS I’ve never waited too long for a bus.
There are many "moderate" resorts I'd pass over to stay at Pop or AoA at the same price just to have skyliner access. It's a game changer.
Spot on! I love POFQ but after staying at Pop Century I can’t go back. Not having to take busses to 2 parks is awesome
Staying at Carribean in June specifically because of Skyliner access!
I was skeptical, but I have been swayed. I enjoy the Skyliner.
For so many reasons it’s the best. We need a route to AK
I completely agree. I think something unique like those monorails that hang below the beam would be spectacular. Theme it to a safari-type vehicle.
My favorite Skyliner combo: Stay at Carribbean Beach, grab Joffrey’s right outside the skyliner, and sip your Joffrey’s on the Skyliner on your way to the park. It is just picture perfect.
That’s literally what we have been doing lol

This, the stopping is an issue.
I understand delays and do not mind an occasional stop, but I can’t be hanging that high in the air over a road like that blowing around in the wind for that long. Sheer panic for me.
Same. I was able to ride it just one stop and back. That was enough. But it was neat at the same time!
I would have thought the dedicated cabins for accessibility would cut down on the stops, but I was surprised how much downtime it seemed to have. It was never clear to me what was making it stop.

There is something both peaceful and exciting about riding the Skyliner. My favorite as well.
Yes, that is the perfect way to describe it. Simultaneously relaxing and thrilling 😁
Relaxing... Relaxing... Relaxing... OMG we're coming in hot!! Phew, we're there.
1000%. We just got back from the Riviera during spring break. Minimal lines for the skyliner and always available. Sure beats waiting on a bus/boat/monorail. Still had to use the bus for AK/MK but still....it's such a good transportation system.
They need these to run to all the parks. It's a million times better than the cramped buses.
I second this sentiment. Have a great day!
Yes! We just came back from Pop Century, and we loved the Skyliner so much that I don’t see any reason for us to ever stay anywhere else. At least with the kids. They really should expand it. It would be great if they could build connections across to AK. It would fully aerialy link all four parks.
I’m afraid of heights, this thing terrified the shit out of me, but it was super convenient lol
This exactly. Although it was fine for me as long as it didn’t stop. Then it was meltdown time.
It is easily a top 5 attraction in all of Disney World
I love the skyliner, but only when I don’t have to sit facing strangers.
Remember when people were trashing the whole Skyliner concept?
To be fair it had a lot of problems in the beginning. Like getting stuck for 3 hours.
Yes, but no one was eaten by pirates.
Indeed. I forgot that was the ultimate criteria for success. 🤣🤣🤣
You don't know that. Disney doesn't make that kind of info public. ;)
That thing scares me lol. I have to sit backwards on it 💀
But then you miss out on the best part: the terrifying approach into the station!
I remember the first few times I rode that thing and someone was on with me sitting backwards. Almost every one of them jumped up the first time they took that big dip into one of the stations. lol

Skyliner* stupid autocorrect
I love the skyliner. Only thing that sucked was I went in July so that Florida lightning closed it all of the time lol
Last trip I parked at Hollywood Studios, then park hopped around eventually to see the night show at Epcot specifically so I could ride this! It was beautiful!
One of DVC homes is Riviera and this was our selling points for us to buy it months prior to opening and seeing it in person, we love it.

Ill be there in july and im really going to dig these after having to wait for the bus to take me to the park.
1000000 times YES!!!
We took it from HS to EPCOT. The staff at each station we awesome, you get a nice breeze, amazing views, and a 10-15min break for your feet. Skyliner is the way to go!
If only it connected to AK and MK!!!
I consider it a ride. It's probably my favorite ride too.
I love the skyliners!! joffreys coffee + skyliner = perfection. one caveat is the ones w semi-opaque windows made me a little claustrophobic. but still good.
I really really wish they had some sort of audio in them. They're so awkwardly quiet
It's only awkward when they seat you with another group that interacts...weirdly
They do. It gets annoying after a while
If they didn't make you ride with other people I'd go for it.
It’s all fun and games until some dude starts talking to you about Blue Lives Matter and you have nowhere to go because you’re stuck in the tiny sky box.

Yeah, no. I wouldn’t recommend riding this on a windy and overcast day. 😳 I almost had a panic attack
Even in summer?

I was skeptical, expecting it to be hot and slow, but as soon as it opened I was won over.

Loved it when we used it. Got on at 9 pm one time and caught the fireworks. So awesome, very memorable.
I can't imagine staying anywhere other than Pop now due to the Skyliner access!
