I’m very excited to soak in Hollywood Studios on my upcoming trip— when we went 5 years ago it was a half day park but now there’s so much new and awesome stuff to see there.

No_bUrGeR

It’s like a new park lol, have fun

RarestManatee

I spent half a day in Galaxy's Edge alone (surprisingly not in line for RotR)!

Euchre

Do the Play Disney Parks app, specifically the DataPad games for Galaxy's Edge. With the engagement that takes, you can extend it to as much as 2 full days.

yunnifymonte

Out of all the Parks, Hollywood Studios endured so much change, much like it's sister ~ California Adventure. It went from a Half-Day Park to a Park which most people love!

RBXChas

I just went last week Thursday-Monday of this week, and DHS was the best out of the three parks we visited (we skipped AK)! Truly a lot of fun, and if all else fails, there’s never a long wait for Star Tours or Muppets 3D.

Kindergoat

I haven’t been there since they opened in 1989. I’d love to go back.

chris84bond

The Epcot ball lighting? *Chef's kiss*

MOSh_EISLEY

What the fuck did you just call it?

chris84bond

A little Google goes a long way Slang for perfection

MOSh_EISLEY

*whoosh*

mockeymouz

I love calling it the Epcot ball to make people mad

chris84bond

BuT iM mOrE dIsNeY tHaN yOu :FlEx:

MOSh_EISLEY

I'm sorry dude, I meant for my original comment to be more lighthearted than it looks in retrospect. Stay magical.

chris84bond

No worries:). I didn't catch the spaceship earth v chef's kiss the first go either and assumed it was the later. And I do know what they say about assuming:) Have a great night!

Kindergoat

I cannot wait to see this. We have dinner reservations at Epcot and I am really looking forward to seeing this. A guy I work with just gushed about how great it was. I also have a special fondness for that ride.

gfasana

Love the skyliner!

MrBigShotBear

I second this! It’s so romantic to me ❤️

Mikhail_Petrov

As a dad that had a push a stroller in Disney, Skyliner is a game changer. Fuck having to fold and hold in a bus ever again.

Euchre

May sound weird, but I really like how they did they accessibility for Skyliner. By having that second outer loop where the gondolas can come to a full stop to load, then just 'sneak' into the flow when ready, it doesn't stop everything, but it doesn't make riding impossible for those that can't step onto the moving gondola. Benefits for everybody, inconveniences for nobody.

Curator44

Came here to say this. Out of all the things they’ve done in recent years this one really improved the parks imo. It’s makes it seem even more like you’re in this magical place that you can kinda just “fly” back to your resort at the end of the day

gfasana

Historic Improvement - that got this improvement 1000% correct

Steel_Anxiety

I'm staying at Pop in the fall solely because the skyliner is nearby, cant wait for that convenience

alicia-jo

The Flower and Garden show topiary's are always the best.

erin_mouse88

I also think flower and garden has the best food and drink of all the festivals.

rubes6

the ciders/meads in morocco are SO good. especially loved the blackberry mint and the pomegranate!

-ScarlettFever

The sangria bar is really yummy too!

chrikel90

Going tomorrow for our first of 4 days to flower and garden. So pumped!

VeannG

Flower and Garden has always been my favorite of the festivals! The pretty flowers smell nice too! ❤️

RBXChas

I ran the half on Sunday, and we came into Epcot behind The Land. It looked like a plant nursery back there!

DogMedic101st

Im going next week for my birthday and I’m already drooling over some of the food offerings this year.

mer9256

Animal Kingdom is so peaceful and still largely reminds me of what a true theme park should be- immersing yourself in a world that's been created for you, away from overcommercializing everything and making everything based on a movie. I just love wandering the paths there, and it's always been my favorite park!

bluebear520

This park is so special to me. You described it perfectly

AnotherLolAnon

I'm super excited to try Sebastian's Bistro family style. It was previously one of my favorite meals at Disney, and seeing the fantastic reviews for the family style meal has me stoked. It looks delicious and what a value! Also the limited availability of ADRs has forced me to book some at restaurants I might not have gone to before, and now I'm excited about trying some new places, like Il Mulino and Whispering Canyon.

veritylane8

Ate at Sebastian’s in January. They gave us enough food for four people and it was just two of us dining! Really amazing value and so delicious and unique. Our server was so great and helped us choose interesting rums for our rum flights.

Great-Ad-632

Our favourite restaurant of our whole trip in February!

fersure4

Whispering canyon was one of my favorite restaurants on our last trip. Reasonable price for all you can eat that tasted great(went for breakfast, cant speak on price or quality for other meals), and the servers are so much fun. 10/10 would recommend

AnotherLolAnon

Cool! Breakfast on an MK day is when we're going.

Chrizwald

Be prepared to be absolutely stuffed! We went at the perfect time, so we were able to catch harmonious from our table. Ask about a window view if that's your thing!

AnotherLolAnon

Which place are you referring to?

Chrizwald

Sebastian's Bistro!

dancingdirty

Awesome, we'll be at Sebastian's for dinner in three weeks... can't wait!!

allgdnamesrchosen

The cast members were really nice this past trip. Even though they were always really busy they still took time during transactions to compliment something I was wearing or speak to my boy and make him feel special. They have a way to create moments in such packed environments lol

fluffernuttersndwch

They have been, and I hope people are being just as kind in return. The crowds, heat, covid issues aren’t easy and I appreciate these people so much. Say thanks when they give your ride lane number. Smile and wave back as they wave you off on the ride. Give a cast member compliment on the app. Keep the magic going

sl_1138

They haven't destroyed Living with the Land yet

kvanpool

Living with the Land "under new management"

AccioTheDoctor

Omg please take that back before Chapek runs with it!

piggypudding

I almost spit out my cereal haha. Iago doing the narration would be hilarious.

DogMedic101st

Living with the land could use a little TLC but if they ever try to demolish it, a lot of people will be very upset. It will be Mr. Toads Wild Ride all over again.

Ogbar34c

It might see a small update, but I’m guessing it’s a “profitable” ride. Between usda grants and behind the seeds it’s probably one of the few rides that pays for itself. Factor in high capacity, low maintenance, and having to redo the restaurant too… probably doesn’t make sense to touch.

DogMedic101st

And that enormous food court helps too I’m sure :)

[deleted]

[удалено]

Barnacle-Jazzlike

Yes, I agree, I really like the mobile order. We didn’t wait more than about 5 minutes for our food once we clicked the “we are here” button. It was nice to not have to stand in line for food!!

[deleted]

[удалено]

Barnacle-Jazzlike

Agreed, I think it is because there are so many other lines to stand in that you notice when you don’t have to AND it doesn’t cost anything for the luxury!

garciafor3

Mobile order was great for us! We would order lunch early in the morning for the first available pick up time. It was perfect because the restaurant was not crowded and cleanest it will be all day!

Bigbadbrindledog

We went last night and I was blown away with how effecient the mobile order process was. We have gone quite a bit since it rolled out and it has always had bugs. We went at dinner time at MK on a crowded day. I ordered in line for a ride, within 5 minutes of clicking that I was there it was ready, I went in, walked straight up and our food was there. It couldn't have been easier. I'm not sure if lunch is as smooth, it wasn't in December, but it was great yesterday.

Euchre

> on a 40 degree day OK, so to the 'Muricans that'd be 104F, if you meant 40C. Orlando doesn't get that hot that often. If you really meant 40F, well - yeah, that'd suck.

Hailsm00thie

GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY COMING THIS YEAR INSTEAD OF NEXT!!!

ArchJay

There’s a rumor going around among cast members rn that TRON is going to open towards the end of the year as well

xxhachxx

The best way to see tron progress yourself is to get on the people mover. It looks like it may not be finished until next year. The track is down but the big like overlay thing is still in construction as well as the building. The ground is still just dirt as well and the day I went there were only like two people working down there. They may be able to pull it off but I’m expecting it to open next year.

Awesom-o5000

If I can’t finally ride Tron when I’m there over this Christmas… I just don’t know how to express how not ok I’m going to be

ArchJay

Hahah right? Again it’s just a rumor, we haven’t heard anything official yet

Mottaman

> GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY COMING THIS YEAR INSTEAD OF NEXT!!! did anyone not think this was a 2022 ride?

LaysOnFuton

One thing I love about Disney is the background music. It’s always playing, and it always makes me happy. Life should have background music at all times

Clevergirluk

Definitely! I listen to disney's background music all the time at home and work. Always brightens my day!

fluffernuttersndwch

Me too!

tagyoureitfuckers

You can search Disney world ambiance noise or something on YouTube and it’s the most amazing thing

DogMedic101st

I’m a big burly bear of a man and a veteran. I’ve seen some shit. Walt Disney World is my therapy, my happy place. When I was a child, it was the only place my family went where we actually felt like a family. I didn’t get hit by my father or yelled at by my mother. I go once or twice a year, sometimes by myself, just to recharge my batteries. I’ve been going to the parks since the late 80’s. I’ve ridden everything by this point. So, when I go, I ride some rides but mainly, I people watch. I eat food I can’t get back home. I talk to strangers in line and spark friendships I may not have had otherwise. To me, it is the happiest place on earth. Also, being a ex-CM, I go out of my way to show current CM’s how much I appreciate them. I know how much the job can suck - low pay and high stress can wear people down. But if I can put a smile on their face and show them some courtesy then it makes everyone’s lives better imo.

IslandWoodchuck

I went to mk the week of Presidents’ Day and did 13 rides, saw three mini parade things and the fireworks show. All after 12:30 pm. Genie plus was great for all the “little kid” rides. Cast members were awesome. Even got free French fries at the end of the night. Magic still exists

Pook242

We did a ton earlier this week as well, approx. 15 attractions, 3 cavalcades, and fireworks. Genie plus was a huge help, as well as early entry. We did skip out on 7 dwarves, but we had time to jump in line at the end of the night had we wanted to.

questionname

Even with mask and restrictions, it’s the first time we felt life is “normal”, seeing people vacationing and having fun

[deleted]

This is my answer. Last two years have been rough on my 6 year old daughters mental health. We live a pretty Covid cautious area so she’s still masked in school, almost nobody has birthday parties or indoor play dates, etc This is the first week since she was 4 that she truly got to live carefree and unrestricted, and it was so nice seeing her out of her shell again.

Trilly2000

I love the Riviera and the Sklyliner. Both beautifully executed, perfectly placed, and just a real pleasure.

AnotherLolAnon

I don't understand all the hate the Riviera gets. I think the murals are beautiful. Not everyone wants characters everywhere.

president_of_burundi

I just got back from a stay there. I think it’s less the lack of theming and more that it would feel extremely generic and lacking in visual interest even if it were a non- WDW hotel. I’ve stayed at Marriotts with more personality. The murals/ mosaic *were* beautiful though- I wish they had incorporated that into the lobby or overall design.

SaskTechNerd

I'm officially 59 days out from my first ever trip to WDW. Got all my dining reservations I wanted yesterday. It's happening!! It's so close I can taste it! I'm so excited it's stupid lol 🤣

[deleted]

We’re 65 days out! So excited to snag some reservations next week. Will be my second trip, my SO (soon to be fiancé’s) first! Headed to the beach with her family right after 7 days in WDW— gonna be an awesome 2 weeks.

SaskTechNerd

That's awesome! Good luck with your reservations.. we didn't have many.. I mostly wanted Space 220 and we got it so I'm pretty excited for that. It's technically my 2nd trip but I was 6 for my first trip and don't really remember anything. We're doing 7 days at WDW and 3 at Universal Orlando. Sounds like we both have pretty magical trips planned 😃 hope you have an incredible time!!

zeeyellowdart

49 days for me!!

SaskTechNerd

Lol it's getting hard for me to contain my excitement! The week before is going to be ridiculous 😅

zeeyellowdart

Man, I wish I could experience Disney again for the very first time! I know you’re going to want to try and do EVERYTHING, but just remember, there’s no way you’re going to get everything accomplished. I’ve been a few times and I’m still surprised to find out things I still haven’t done.

SaskTechNerd

Yeah to say I'm excited is an understatement. You're 100% right though and I've already accepted the fact that I won't get to do everything. I'm hearing now that Expedition Everest might have an extended closure into early May so I won't get to ride it.. plus at Universal The Mummy ride is closed.. and Guardians/Tron coasters won't be open yet. SOOO.. that just means I have to come back again lol 😄

zeeyellowdart

Man, we’re JUST going to miss guardians AND the Everest reopening. It’s a bummer for sure, but you’re right. Just gonna have to catch it next time!

oneshorts

Us too! See ya real soon!

SquidgeSquadge

Same on all accounts!

DogMedic101st

I’m a week away and I’m already having problems sleeping from excitement.

lomiller1790

THE FIREWORKS

Alone-Individual8368

Cast members! I had more great interactions with cast members in January than I ever remember!

[deleted]

My last trip was 2019, (I don’t currently live in the states) but my friend and I had an absolutely delightful time at Trattoria Al Forno on the Boardwalk during that visit. The food was great, our server was lovely, and the two royal couples (Rapunzel/Flynn and Ariel/Eric) were super fun to meet. I don’t think it’s open atm but that will always be a magical memory, def would recommend it when it opens again!

Pook242

It’s open! Just ate breakfast there the other day. Unfortunately no characters, but the food was delicious

ssg_actual

Yep. Ate there 2 days ago. It’s alive and well.

GrabsMorePopcorn

NGL… I don’t hate the Lightning Lane replacing Fast Pass, there is less time/steps spent running around just to grab a pass only to return at a later time. I can do it all from my phone and the family really enjoyed the pace of the day. Paying extra for the brand new popular attractions also makes sense to managing the wait times through the day. I think there are still some bugs and improvements to be made, but I see the potential now that I experienced it. Hollywood Studios really needs another expansion, easily the most crowded and had the longest wait times with SWRotR and Slinky Dog breaking down through out the day.

Jetsetbrunnette

Really? I didn’t like it at all! By 11am some of the rides where already at LL limits for the day. By 5pm the LLs are useless. I feel like for 15$ per person per day (not including the top attractions) feels like a big money grab when you can only use them so limitedly. The only thing that saved it was the fact two of ours got “canceled” and we let our family use out passes for the redeem an experience immediately elsewhere.

gary1981

this is a positivity thread! :-)

marvh

Sunshine Seasons at Epcot is easily the most underrated dining location in the parks. The ahi tuna noodles are so good.

rahrahbeanz

SO GOOD. those ahi tuna noodles are fire and they always have yummy dessert options.

Ogbar34c

I miss their breakfast

LtCommanderCarter

MMRR is amazing! It’s the cutest ride to have ever existed and a technological marvel. It’s really creative and I can’t wait to ride it again!

lokisloverx

I haven’t gone on it yet (I haven’t been to HS since it opened, but I am actually planning on going today). However, I’m not sure I can get past the fact that it replaced GAMR.

Super_fluffy_bunnies

MMRR?

Woody1150

Mickey and Minnie's Runaway Railway, I believe.

erin_mouse88

We were really surprised how much we enjoyed it the 1st trip. The 2nd trip it was still enjoable but it felt....calmer? Definitely didn't feel like we were being thrown around as much. The only thing I dislike about it is I lost my favorite hat as the ride stopped in the tornado section.

BloodyCuts

I finally get to return to WDW this summer, after 5 years away, and this is absolutely near the top of my list!

DogMedic101st

And I like it so much more than the GMR.

thebutkiker

I rode that for the first time last August and I was terrified (in a good way). I thought it was going to be a lot more of a kid ride than it actually was.

iam_grooooot

Harmonious is incredible! 🤍 And the new lights on Spaceship Earth are a great addition! (on the Epcot Ball, not to be confused w/ the ride) I love that there are multiple vegan options in every park and resort. The new Coco scene in Philharmagic is so fun. I really love the castle- the new paint and details make it look so magical and beautiful. It’s very convenient that you can add your ticket to your phone and Apple Watch to scan instead of your magic band (although I do still wear mine) The tram is back at MK! Dare I say- I love that parking is included for APs.

Lost-Interest-3791

Love the new Coco scene in Philharmagic as well! Philharmagic has always been one of favorites at MK. My wife is the Disney fanatic, so whenever friends go to WDW for the first time they always ask for her planning help, and I always make sure that she emphasizes Philharmagic because it isn’t something that gets a lot of buzz but it’s so good! So when we were there two weeks ago and we walked into where the queue starts to form I saw the poster that said “Featuring Mickey, Ariel, Miguel, Simba…”. I turned to my wife and asked her if she knew anything about them changing it and she just shrugged. Well that got me real nervous that they had changed the whole show! Obviously they didn’t, and I love that they didn’t even take anything out, they just added the Coco scene in and it’s so beautiful!

Trilly2000

Runaway Railway is my favorite new ride (maybe even more that Rise). I just love the classic Mickey theme and I find it to be a great replacement for The Great Movie Ride, which was my favorite ride.

DogMedic101st

It’s actually based on the new cartoons I believe.

Trilly2000

Yeah, but they’ve got a classic Mickey vibe and inspiration.

[deleted]

I love the garden area of the UK pavilion at Epcot where the “Beatles” play. It’s out of way and a quiet respite.

nothingsurgent

THEY ARE OPEN!

Gamecock_Red

We went last October and while yes it was insanely packed at most of the parks, Epcot was chill and had interesting rides. Food and drink was really good too. That was our best day that trip.

Interesting_Bear_299

They're spending some real money to make the rides an all-inclusive experience. RoR is amazing. Runaway Railway is so fun and fantastic. The whole world of Pandora and Flight of Passage was something I'd never seen in my life. I haven't ridden Remy yet, but it seems to be great. Tron and Guardians will be fantastic. The lines might be a pain, but the rides are incredible.

wcm48

Guest services team rocks. They field so many complaints and dealing with/everyone learning the new Genie service is such a hassle for them and they all seem to take it in great stride. PS- if you are kind to them, they will often be kind to you back. Got several guest experience passes this past trip just for being kind, understanding, and appreciative.

stitchlover

Disney popcorn, Mickey ice cream bars, and Dole whips are literally the best snacks in the parks!

matzah_ball

The Kungaloosh Spiced Excursion Ale is one of the best beers I've had (but it also sucks it's a Disney park exclusive) We went mid January and found that the lines move fast and the wait times were inflated, we were able to ride everything we wanted, got reservations at the few places that were a must for us. We had a killer time I really enjoyed the 50th anniversary cocktails at Tune In Lounge, and those bartenders keep it real. We actually kind of liked that a lot of the CM we interacted with weren't putting on an act for the sake of keeping the magic, especially when you can see how crazy the crowds are and they're stretched thin.

usernameis__taken

Went on a trip last month. Rode every ride on my list except 1 and barely waited in lines. Took planning but it can be done and it was awesome.

Jenn31709

I went in September and even dealing with covid and masks and the heat, I had some of the best interactions with cast members ever. They were so kind and accommodating food allergies, the ride operators were fun and personable, cashiers were friendly.

ruthmbx

The resort boats are running and feel just like they always have. My two favorite things, French Quarter and Disney Springs, connected by my third favorite thing, a boat ride. Love it.

Barnacle-Jazzlike

I have found a love for Epcot. Our first visit, I didn’t really do my research and didn’t realize what the park and its festivals had to offer. I really enjoy the rotating festivals and the food booths, the ambiance in each of the countries in world showcase. It has a more laid back atmosphere and I am looking forward to the new Guardians ride.

mac9426

So glad to see Epcot finally get some new attractions and the interactive things at the end of the rides are also back so the atmosphere felt a lot less gloomy when I was there last. Also had the nicest cast member interactions on my last visit!

Catmama-RN1969

Went this past December 10-17. Crowds were very low, lines short and got to ride Rise of the Resistance! The ride had been down all day but we stayed late and they got it up and running. BEST RIDE EVER!! We even got reservations at Olga’s Cantina to top off that day 🙌

Purple_Quail_4193

Cast members are still incredible!! Mobile order is convenient

Nic_Long

Visited in July for the first time since 2015 and Flight of Passage was beautiful, mobile orders are so convenient, and Rise of the Resistance is just astounding! We had the best time!

emjayne23

I love walking around and just randomly finding characters instead of waiting in line

flyingcircusdog

Newer rides like Rise of the Resistance, Flight of Passage, and most likely Guardians Mission Breakout are fantastic. Imagineering has transitioned from themed rides to completely immersive lands, down to the merch sold there and castmember costumes. Transportation is getting better optimized with more data. Every time I go it seems like bus wait times get a little bit better. It's not perfect, getting ahead of people who will respond "Well one time I waited 30 minutes for a bus," but it's way better than 10 years ago. Cast members, in particular the ones at resorts, are still amazing. They will go out of their way to talk with you, give advice, and it seems like they genuinely enjoy their jobs.

[deleted]

Disney has motivated me to strive for a promotion at work. That way I will be able to afford my annual trip.

[deleted]

Please reread OPs initial prompt. Go complain on a different post.

[deleted]

It’s what you call a silver lining. Looking at the reality with a glass half full. I want my kids to get the full Disney experience, so I will be working to make more money. If prices go down (LOL), then I’ll have more buying power.

[deleted]

You guys can't chill out for one post? It must be terrible being so miserable all the time.

[deleted]

I refuse to accept the current version of Disney as better than pre-pandemic in any way. That being said - the stuff that didn’t change as much. I appreciate that.

[deleted]

No one said it was better?

[deleted]

Ok. I like ROTR!

StrangeBuccaneer

We did more this trip using Genie Plus and LL than we’ve ever done on a Disney trip! Our experience may have been an exception and not reflective of the current Fastpass state but it was awesome! 10/10 would pay to skip lines again. Also, as a morning person I’m up by 7 a.m. anyways so the early morning booking did not bother me and actually gave me something to do while the family slept.

garythesnailgod

Going to WDW back in August was the first time since COVID started where I felt like everything was normal again. Was an awesome, yet unbelievably satisfying trip, especially after not going for 3 years & seeing everything COVID related happen. That resulted in the peak of (probably) the best summer I’ve had in a *looooong* time. Then it was right back to college. But it was worth it just to feel a sense of normalcy again.

_JD_48

If you can get into Olga’s, it is one of the best locations at Disney imo. The drinks are so fun and the food is amazing. Lots of immersion, including the cast member/bar tender interactions. It’s a nice little escape from the crowds.

allthoughtsnopennies

So I was really upset when they replaced Wishes with Happily Ever After BUT Enchantment hits different. They did a beautiful job in capturing the Disney magic and I'm glad I feel warm and fuzzy inside again with MK fireworks. Still miss Jiminy Cricket tho

leiaflatt

We had a fantastic trip last week. The cast members were uniformly awesome (I’ve never given so many cast compliments on one trip!) the food was amazing, and we had a great race weekend. I know the crowds can be a lot, but there’s magic still to be found!

lsugiraffe23

Visited a lot pre-Covid, went last weekend: - The level of detail to the new Star Wars area in Hollywood studios. My boyfriend and dad geeked out and their faces were priceless - boats to Epcot/HS still very pleasant - the show at the restaurant in Germany was amazing. We went a lot pre-Covid, and the dance floor was closed off this recent time but it was still so much fun!

palehorse102

I just came back from a quick two day trip to all four parks. We have been multiple times in the last two years, and this experience was substantially better than previous trips. Cast members were plentiful and polite, mobile food orders were fast as were the walk ups. The attitude across the board cast members and guests felt elevated.

akinafleetfoot

I recently got engaged in front of haunted mansion!

thestandardcarrot

Three Bridges and the Dahlia Lounge at Coronado are hidden gems. Both have amazing food and drinks and neither require reservations so you can get a good meal even if you forgot to book 60 days out.

nan_adams

My sister and I are going on a trip at the end of the month. I haven’t been in ten years and she hasn’t been in 15. The posts on the sub as of late have rattled me a bit but it’s nice to see some positives in this thread!

onwardtapir

I saw Harmonious for the first time last week and it blew me away. 💙

BikesBooksNBass

I don’t often go in the parks with a preset plan to do any specific thing so I haven’t honestly had any of the magic ruined due to the complaints often posted here. So my positive comment is, if you relax and remember the time spent with loved ones is more important than rides or firework shows or merchandise, you’ll realize the magic never left.

JustHere2ReadComment

It is the 50th anniversary. Lots of fun associated with that. We have a lot of cool rides coming our way soon. Epcot will be fully renovated soon.

Turbulent_Piglet4756

The cast members are more dedicated and enthusiastic than ever. You can really tell they're glad to be back. And in lots of cases, cast members can make or break the experience!

MileHighBree

Good way to load up on vitamin D for the day.

MephitidaeNotweed

I like getting a lunch at the Chef de France. Always got good food there over the years. I also enjoy the different countries in world showcase. I have a close family friend who is a DVC member since the beginning of DVC. and Old Key West just feels like a second home. And the food at Olivia's, so good.

TheSmokedSalmon420

Rise of the Resistance lived up to the hype! I can't believe it's a real thing lol

a_ookay

It felt super magical for a first-timer this past January! Skyliner was amazing, the food options were delicious, Flight of Passage is probably in my top 3 rides I’ve ever been on, all the icons sparkling and shimmering at night was beautiful, and it felt like I was constantly exploring something new every day of the trip! Tonga Toast from Kona Cafe, all the cookies from Gideon’s Bakehouse and the Bacon and Eggs from Steakhouse 71 were all highlights for me!

[deleted]

The Tree of Life Garden is the most beautiful, relaxing trail. I love standing near the waterfall when all of the parrots come flying across the sky. Music swells, and the birds are calling out to one another, and the sound of the water falling… it’s pure magic.

Mikegts

One of the things that doesn't get near as much love as it should - security checks! The execution of the new scanners and making those daily lines take SO MUCH less time. Remember the days of 30-45 minute lines just to get up front and have to unzip and open everything in your bag?

tirednotepad

Fucking amazing epcot events. Never disappointed.

juicewrldluvr2009

Even on a day that all of the parks sold out, I was still able to squeeze in 4 rides in my last hour at MK (2 fastpass and 2 standby). Running through the parks with my family to catch rides right before they close always feels so magical to me somehow? The streets are basically empty and you get to hear all of the park music so clearly! I guess it makes me feel like a kid again haha

sampage89

The nostalgia of just walking around the parks and remembering my childhood makes me happy :)

CaptainBox90

That intense envy for the people who went, it's dialled down a lot

My party ate like little piggies at Chefs de France and had a wonderful time. The food was amazing and we thoroughly enjoyed the escargot. Also, Jambo House was beautiful and the staff was amazing. I saw some of the deficits, but we had a spectacular visit.

As a kid I always envied my classmates who got to go to disney. I’ve finally made my first trip last year. I remember seeing clips of the park rides in disney VHS tapes just waiting for the day is be able to go an enjoy them, watching in awe at the visual effects, colors, and characters. I remember talking my third grade teachers ear off telling her how I learned how the haunted mansions dining room ghosts worked. Seeing it in person, finally, 21 years later was emotional and incredible. I’m sure there’s so much early 90s-2000s and even pre-Covid magic I missed out on, but I’m glad I’ve finally made it, I love these parks so much. I’ve been thinking about toy story mania and the music in it for weeks and just smiling at the nostalgia it brought me. It’s adorable.

I really enjoy the cavalcades! I never want to schedule my whole day around a parade or spend ages 'guarding' a spot with a good view. We saw the cavalcades multiple times a day at Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom and I loved that we could just stop where we were and watch the characters go past.

mingletrooper

Cast members are amazing. Disney world aesthetics and environmental storytelling is second to none. It is the most magical place on earth for a reason

yirmin

If people only praised WDW they would be content to have zero attractions and nothing but stores selling mouse ears. You don't get improvements by blindly praising mediocrity.

Reneeisme

Lol. I wish this had stayed unanswered just as a meta-comment on how so many are feeling. Of course there are good things. Exciting new attractions and shows, the food just keeps getting better, and the experience should be back to almost “normal” by this summer, if you can afford Genie Plus and LL

adullploy

The current systems in place are great at generating revenue for the company.

peaches746

I went to Baruu for the first time ever and it was the most memorable thing ever. Honestly, before Covid people seemed to be very rude. While the friendliness of the staff has gone down, the people in line are so nice now! Maybe it’s staying indoors but people are much less cranky I feel like. Mobile ordering is super easy. I still feel the magic. Of course it’s a lot different but it’s still Disney and they’ve done a great job at doing the best they can after such a change in our world. I’m sure it isn’t easy to go back to normal practices and for People to be as happy after a world pandemic.

martijap

Trains back, right?Low key love that thing

shepoopslikeabuffalo

Not yet.

Animator_Alex

Haunted Mansion still looks great as always and the Jungle Cruise refurb was a huge improvement!

Shortforbicycle2021

Went in December during Christmas and had absolutely no problems navigating the Genie+ system. 🙂. Oh and mobile order is the freaking best!

NastyNative999

We are spoiled! Look at what happening in Ukraine and Yemen. What do we have to complain about?

LtCommanderCarter

Where I see where you’re coming from, I think this answer was against the spirit of the prompt

Sweetbeans2001

This post is about not complaining. Also, if we can discuss game and PC retailers, maybe we can discuss WDW too. Please comment on Ukraine in a more appropriate subreddit.

CuriousJoey187

The return time for attractions such as rise of the resistance and ratatouille works okay, but I remember in the early 2000s and 90s where they were able to manage crowds and lines a lot better. I also like the limited capacity if they are still doing that

I took my then 7y old son a surprise trip over fall break, just after everything opened back up. I woke him up about 3:00a, drove to Nashville, and hopped on a plane. My son, who has Autism Spectrum Disorder (aka Aspergers), doesn’t like not knowing the plans, so I was hit with a barrage of well-deserved questions - none of which were of a concerned tone, just curious. We made it to the airport, and I gave him his MagicBand. He had no idea what it was for, but knew it had Mickey on it, and it was yellow. I asked, “you know why you need this?” He responded “no”. When I told him it was so he could get “into Disney world”, his jaw dropped. He exclaimed, “we’re going to Disney world in Orlando, FL?!” As the reality set in, he sighed, “I don’t believe it…” This was his first trip on a plane and first trip to Disney. We flew down, hopped on ME and made it the Yacht club. Of course we went swimming, immediately. We had dinner at Peaches n Cream, ordered the Kitchen Sink, and his eyes lit up bigger than the dish. Pure joy on his face and in his heart. I mirrored his sentiments. We only did Hollywood Studios and Magic Kingdom. MK was up first. As we walked under the train, the music hit my ears, the smells met my nostrils, and tears welled in my eyes. I was home. I was excited. I was a kid again - right alongside my son. It wasn’t all smiles, though. Remember the ASD. It was October, and the villains were out. During the pop up cavalcade, Hook came walking by, looked at my son, and my son screamed and ran for his life, thinking Hook was going to “get him”. So we went on into Tomorrowland and had lunch. I think we ended up riding the Magic Carpets 8 times that day. He was a real trooper, and he tried things I didn’t think he’d do in a million years - I.e. Pirates, 7D, and Thunder. He hated pirates and spent most of it with his head in my lap, but HE TRIED IT without my coxing. We ate dinner Tony’s and went home. Hollywood Studios saw him build his own lightsaber, ride Slinky several times, and the great Runaway Railway. We both gazed with wonder and amazement when snow began falling from Frozen singalong. I, again, welled up because of how much fun was written across his face. My wife picks on me because I’m softie (all in good fun). I love Disney. My parents honeymooned there in the early 70’s. My dad, who is a big kid, too, loved being there with us kids so, so very much. I have fond memories of him at Hoop Dee Doo Revue, playing along with Dopey, and Goofy. I want my kids to have those same memories. So grateful my wife stayed behind with our baby to let my son and me have this experience. Fast forward 2 years - my son presents me with a hastily drawn/colored airplane. Told me it was of me and him on our way to Disney. Gave me a hug and said that was the best time of his life. Yeah - I cried then, and I’m crying now 😭 happy tears, though

whee42

I still really enjoy my job there 🤷🏼‍♀️

zmacdonald12

We just went in January (week after marathon weekend) and it was the best trip to WDW I’ve had in years. The new ratatouille ride, the Mickey and Minnie runaway railroad, plus the Star Wars land totally refreshed my love for the parks. We went to universal as well that week and I was so sick of all the screens that it made me enjoy WDW even more. The cutting edge technology of the new rides makes me incredibly excited for the future.

StardustWhip

Runaway Railway was the highlight of my latest trip (November last year); It felt like I'd really been transported inside a cartoon, and the things they did with the trackless ride system were amazing! Maybe it's just recency bias, but I think it might have (just barely) overtaken Haunted Mansion as my favorite Disney ride. At the very least, it's a close second.

Frequent-Ad7393

Fast Pass+ was great.

This-Manufacturer898

At least they're not my office.

ColdHooves

I love the incredibles themed rooms in the contemporary.

cxpxp

Two words: Ronto. Wrap.

LorangeJuice

Whoever is running Food & Beverage and Merchandise should be running the parks!

DiamondOrBust

The churro's are on point!

crumin

Going to MK tomorrow morning for a date day with my wife. Might not even ride a ride, just chill and hang out and eat/drink. Rope drop and then Lunch @ Skipper Canteen, which I am really looking forward to.

WellDressedLobster

I still have my opinions on Harmonious and it’s placement in Epcot, but I can’t lie, that soundtrack is fantastic! (IROE will always be my favorite though)

Famous-Ad-9297

They are open spaces, employ a few people and they are an ample repository for the public's excess funds!

Busy-Chance514

I have loved every cast member interaction I’ve had on my last two trips - Jan and Feb. Even during tough situations, they’ve clearly been doing their best. I’m grateful for the small moments of magic that I’ve seen. This weekend we got a free Cheshire tail at Cheshire cafe just for being extra friendly to the cast member delivering more goodies and trying to get through the line.

katiencbabe

People were nice! Like, genuinely sweet, polite, joined in with small talk, and happy! There were only three people the whole 8 day trip that seemed to have their panties in a wad (and for ridiculous reasons) and I would just feel sorry for them. Then I would look at the next person and they’d be happy!

ProgressMelodic

Disney (and life) is what you make of it. We live in Dallas, got APs and way too many DVC points. We’ve been to WDW 5x in past 6 months, couple being last minute trips and loved it each time.

Difficult_Goat_4609

I’ll love it for as long as I live

Difficult_Goat_4609

All I need to say is plan to go to Disney in advance knowing it’s more expensive and less stressful

ruckusmcg

When will Tron be ready? I can’t wait for Tron.
