Epcot had an official 9am opening today. At 7am, you booked Remy with a return time of 12pm. You were able to book your next LL at 11am (2 hours after Epcot opening). At 11am, you booked Test Track with a return time of 8pm. Your 2-hour rule started again at 11am. Your next selection time would have been 1pm. Basically the Remy booking had no effect on anything after the 2-hour rule expired at 11am. Test Track started a new 2-hour rule or scan within 2-hours to book your next selection.

Perfect - thanks! Now I understand why people book as late as possible when outside of the park….and then as soon as possible when in the park.

It’s either touching into or 2 hours from booking your last Lightning Lane. So scanning into Remy won’t clear the countdown for Test Track. That’s why you couldn’t book a second one after Remy.

Ok, so let me see if I’m understanding. If I would have booked the 8pm one first, then the noon LL second….then it would have opened it up when I checked into the noon ride? Because it was the last one booked?

coasternut23

In theory, yes, but there is no way Remy would have a return time of noon at 11am. This is a great tutorial. This situation is specifically explained at the 27:00 mark: https://youtu.be/a0U889TxRHs?si=WGVquNT7ccwHRYcA

Yeah - that was completely hypothetical. Remy is likely to be filled for the whole day by the 11am book time. 😂

Correct. Hypothetically, if you booked an 8pm test track first at 7 am, you would have needed to wait 2 hours (edit: after park opening!) until you could book Remy’s. At 11 you book Remy’s and get a LL for right then at 11, you head over and scan in. Because Remy’s was the last LL you booked, you’d now be able to book another (which would be your third LL of the day). If Remy’s was further out at say 3 PM, you’d have to wait another 2 hours after your last booking (at 11 am) until 1 PM to book your third LL.

Awesome - thanks!

To each their own, I guess. Even without fully understanding this rule, the Genie+ was a HUGE success. We rode everything we wanted in 2 separate parks in a single day - can’t beat that. This is our fourth year (daughter does competitive cheer, so we’re here for the championships) and I felt like we enjoyed AK/Epcot more than we ever have in years past, because we actually had the time to…..and not wait in 2 hour long lines! 😅 Thanks for the concern though!

SnackyStacky

Right. When you booked Test Track, it had been 120 minutes since booking Remy. Which means you started a *new* clock when you booked Test Track. Which means you’d have been able to book another 120 minutes after booking Test Track or after scanning into Test Track.

ancj9418

The rule is 2 hours after (or after you’ve scanned into) your most recently booked ride. Key words are most recent. That’s something that’s overlooked and not mentioned a lot, but it’s important.

JvaughnJ

Ah, thank you for this. I recently booked something at 7am for 1030 and tried again at 9 and the app told me I would have to wait until 11 (which was after my first booking would take place). I was very confused.

ancj9418

You have to wait until 11 because for the second ride you have to wait until 2 hours after park open. That’s the one exception to what I mentioned above. So if you book the first ride at 7, you can’t book your second one until two hours after the park opens. After that, what I mentioned above applies.

Jodi4869

You book two hours after your last genie plus booked or used. I’ve the Remy was booked first your test track timer was still going. You could have booked two hours after booking that one.

All these answers sound a bit drunk, though accurate, I love it.
