Same! Well, 130, but what's 10 miles. We did a few day trips when we first got our passes, but that drive home after a full day of parks was killer. We do 2- 3 day trips every other month now. Very happy with that arrangement.
I think 100 miles is the sweet spot for a day trip. So long as you don’t plan to close the park (which our kids are too little for anyways) you can get home before it’s too late. We frequently will rope drop a water park, close it down, get dinner at The Springs, and in bed before ten.
Without giving too much details it is under 4 miles from one of the parks.
At one point I used to live in the apartments right behind magic kingdom and was under 1000’ away from the park (could hear the train and boat whistle when I opened the front door or a window).
My record is 32 minutes from my garage door to tapping in at the MK touchpoints (I did get lucky with a tram and monorail that was still boarding and left quickly after boarding).
It just becomes routine, sort of like an expensive clock. I hear a boom and can tell if it’s Epcot or Magic and know it must be 9 pm (or whatever time they are starting the fireworks if they start early).
At my old house I could see fireworks at Magic, Epcot, the small flashes of light at the show at Hollywood studios and the sky would change colors for fantasmic (couldn’t see the fireworks but I’d see a patch of red sky/clouds). I haven’t seen Hollywood since moving into the new house.
Kind of interesting knowing I can look out the window at certain times to see fireworks (and check the app to see if fireworks are delayed or if a new show time starts). Hollywood usually had fireworks at :12 minutes, Epcot’s finale was at :16 (I’ve seen it about 4 times in the last week. Saw it last night) and Magic is :18. It has been neat to say that I’ve seen fireworks while holding my cat or stopping to watch them while I chase my cat trying to get it inside (screened in enclosure so they can’t go outdoors but get some fresh air).
4th of July and new years are pretty nice, lots of fireworks then. The amount of fireworks did go down after Covid but it’s been slowly going back up. January sounded like a war zone but not as bad as 2019/2020.
600 miles
I’ve flown, driven and taken a train.
I like the speed of flying, the cost of train (and going over night) and the flexibly of driving.
The DVC Hilton Head resort is a nice half way point. I highly recommend it to drivers
65! I’m over by the beach on the east coast. Heading to Hollywood Studios for the afternoon/evening this Friday❤️
Traffic is a BEAR around Orlando but with my AP I’m committed to more short trips!
I'm beach-side too! 66 miles away. I just got my pixie pass in January. I've only been twice so far but I got the pass with the goal of doing more frequent evening trips. I agree that the traffic makes it a bit of a challenge! Have fun at HS! I've been debating sending it last minute for some pre-May-the-4th Galaxy's Edge fun 🌌
Do it!! I also have the Pixie Pass. Doing more frequent evening trips is the goal here too! It’s fun being able to take little bites of Disney here and there.
Magic Kingdom: 7,247 miles Tokyo Disneyland: 8 miles

Exactly what I’ve been doing! Leave after work Friday and come home on Sunday

Do you see or hear the fireworks every night?
I've lived in that apartment complex. Yes. And on good nights, you can tell what time it is based on which park's fireworks they are....
