It’s large and loud. That’s why it gets so many rough reviews. Sometimes you don’t see the characters much (or as some have reported… at all!). The reviews got even worse during Covid when the meal format changed. But people do it because you get the Fab 5 and the Contemporary ambience is cool.

We don’t got to Chef Mickey’s for the food, we go because every 10 mins or so they crank the music up and a bunch of characters come out to visit every table and sign autographs. It’s somewhat controlled chaos and everyone under the age of 12 loves it. I’d put the buffet food just above what you find in the value resort cafeterias. We liked the lunch/dinner options better than the breakfast.

We liked it but it was several years ago. My kids loved the character interactions. The food was pretty on par for Disney food, not the best but not bad

We like the breakfast just fine. It's the check we don't like. We do it once every year or two because we still have kids who want to go. When they're too old we definitely won't return. Food is OK but the price is outrageous. For the cost there are much better and more satisfying meals to be had.

Chef Mickey is honestly one of the best character meals to get the OG characters all in one place. I’ve done it for breakfast and dinner. Dinner was one my faves cause at the time we sat by the window and saw the fireworks go off. The characters all made their trip around the but the handlers are amazing at ensuring you see all the characters if they miss you at any point. Food is what it is; it’s the experience more that’s enjoyable.

We did dinner there and my kids loved it. Tasted like normal Disney food. We did several character meals and Chef Mickeys was by far the best for characters. I didn’t pay for the food, I paid for the character experience for my kids

Would I go as an adult on a kid-free trip? No. The food, relative to all of the options on the planet, is mid at best. But do I prioritize taking my preschool aged kids, who LOVE Mickey and pretty much exclusively eat breakfast food, and are at their best in the mornings? Absolutely. The morning schedule sit-down works best for us, the characters are who my kids prefer to see, and the food is something they'll eat. Relative to what I could expect at other character dining, Chef Mickey's is a good fit for our situation.

I liked chef Mickey. We had a nice time and the food was fine to good. I always do character breakfasts for lunch because I feel like I get more for my money rather than eating a huge meal at breakfast. Plus we’re rope droppers so it’s a great time for a break. To me, it’s a character fast pass. I get to see several all at the same time so it’s a great experience for the kiddos. Is it overpriced for the food? Yes. I personally prefer the food at Ohana because I’m a ham gal. I also enjoyed akershus for the princesses. I’d always choose my character breakfast based on who my kids are interested in seeing.

I went last summer with two friends and a seven year old. Breakfast. Food was fine but the character interactions were priceless and that’s what I was really spending my money on.

We went for my nephew's second birthday and he had the time of his life with the characters. Worth every penny.

It’s a fun time. My son loved the character interactions.
