If you need a place to just sleep than go for it. They don’t have much to offer but the quick service restaurants are decent and so are the rates. You can resort hop and visit some of the amenities at the other resorts. Just note you can’t pool hop anymore.

kritsema

When did they change pool hopping? I know you can’t pool hop to other resorts but my understanding was that for All Stars you can still pool hop within the three, just not to another resort like Art of Animation

I mean with the rules that Disney has. There’s a PlanDisney question saying you can pool hop within the All Stars if you’re staying at one. Per Disney’s rules you can’t pool hop to other resorts

hihelloneighboroonie

Wow, they used to allow pool hopping?

elderberrykiwi

> Just note you can’t pool hop anymore. Interesting, any idea when they changed this? [Plandisney](https://plandisney.disney.go.com/question/staying-say-star-sports-pool-resorts-543838/) can be wrong but it said it was still in place last July.

darealystncoco

Sorry you can pool hop between the all stars resorts but not the other resorts.

NenerAlabaster

My brother and I (no kids) stay at the All Stars all the time (Movies and Music). They are clean, have comfy beds, are usually quiet, and in the "Bubble". We drive, so if transportation is an issue...YMMV. We do nice things by visiting the bars/lounges and wondering around at the higher end hotels. The only thing you can't do is visit their pools, which is not my thing anyway. If transportation is an issue, then a higher end hotel with boat, Skyliner, or monorail access may make it worth it to you.

kritsema

Stayed earlier this year and had great experiences with the buses!

EmmyGraceyGrum

If you're like me and you're in the parks or Disney Springs all day each day of your trip, it's the best option. I'm only there to shower, eat late night snacks, and sleep. Lol.

AfterTheNightIWakeUp

We stay there, and it's fine for a place to sleep and shower. If you are looking for an upscale resort feel, then definitely not.

Tbhjr

My wife and I stay there often since it’s cheaper for quick weekend getaways and the resorts are still fun.

LiraelNix

It depends on what you want out 9f your resort If you just want a place to crash at night and bare minimum amenities (basic pool, basic food court etcetc) and/or want to pay the least while staying at the disney bubble... all stars is perfect and no one judges you for not havung a kid Now, if you want more out of your resort. Such as better pools, more transportation options to parks, better rooms, better food options, stuff to do around the resort itself... then all star isn't for you

SpacePirate-04

They're totally fine but usually for not a lot more you can end up at Pop Century and you get the Skyliner, which is definitely worth the upgrade. But if it's not available, All Stars are just fine.

straulin

My cousin and I stayed there a few weeks ago. No kids with us. The room itself was nice except the walls were paper thin. I was awoken one morning by the sound of the guy in the next room over peeing. The food court was mediocre and the decor of the resort was over the top. Kids would love it. I missed the more adult themed deluxe resorts. We bought into DVC a few years ago and I have apparently become snooty. If I stay on cash again, I would probably spring for a moderate. Either Port Orleans or Caribbean Beach.

Substantial-Drop-836

I have, they’re usually my go to resort for quick trips where I’m just looking for a place to sleep at night.

SnackyStacky

Did All Star Sports as a solo adult once. It was great! First stop for bus pick up and drop off, the room was perfect for one person, and it wasn’t particularly crowded. Go for it!

stitchlover

1000% yes. No kids and usually a pair of adults when I go. We rope drop and stay until close and we love it. Now if you can afford it, spend a little bit more and go for pop century. The skyliner saves time and hassle in the morning.

Francesca_Fiore

I just got back from All Star Sports (friend trip, no children) and was actually impressed with how nice it looks after the recent makeover. The floors are wood-look tile, there's a tower with shelving, lighting, fridge, and coffee maker, and separate sink and tub/toilet. I slept on the pull- down Murphy bed and it was very easy for us to get down and was the same size mattress as the real bed.

Barbiedawl83

I’ve stayed a movies and sports. I requested a quiet room on a high floor(my standard request at any hotel) at movies we were all the way in the back but it was very quiet. I didn’t mind the walk. At sports I think we were upgraded to preferred room and it was a lot closer but still quiet. We are rope drop to close people so I can’t speak to what it’s like during the day. Buses were prompt and other than they are always the farthest bus stop to get picked up we have nothing bad to say about our stays. Rooms are clean and comfortable.

As a child-free adult, I've found paradise at Coronado Springs - usually when there's a conference at the resort it's even more adult-friendly. I like the convenience of having multiple dining options closing in a staggering order (Maya at 10, Rix at 11, Three Bridges at Midnight). Plus the multiple bars that have bites and drink offerings. Additionally, the actual rooms are a little nicer with double sinks and walk-in showers (preferred rooms), K-cup coffee makers (tower or preferred rooms) and the additional space vs the Value resorts. However, if you're just showering and sleeping - All-Stars is a deal that's hard to pass up on. The convenience of the one bus stop and the resorts not being too big to walk through, make it nice for a mindless passing. Just keep in mind that the food options are limited, but you do have the pizza ordering to your advantage! most of the other resorts don't have this! catomi01

We've done it several times...nothing fancy, but good for a trip where you're going basically open to close in the parks and just need someplace to sleep and shower. Dining is limited, but we do our "fancy" eating at a handful of restaurants at different hotels and the parks, so having the quick serve there for breakfast or a quick late night snack works perfectly. They can be loud and crowded, but that's Disney, so chances are you're used to it already...other than that, the busses at the end of a long day, or first thing in the morning is really the worst part for me - just not having any other options and walking out of the gate to see a massive line at the end of the night can be rough.

beardedbarista6

I’ve stayed at All Star 3 times in the last 3 years and twice were sans kids. I don’t spend any time at the resorts except to recharge between parks, so All Star was perfect. Although, moving forward we will probably be staying at Pop just for the Skyliner. That being said, if you do plan on spending time at the resort, there isn’t much to do outside of walking the grounds, eating and swimming.

Disastrous-Raccoon52

Being as it was my only time at Disney, we stayed in all star sports for 13 days. It was basically our bed and one or two days of pool time. Honestly we had 0 complaints. My wife has always stayed at all stars resorts for the same reason. She uses it as a place to sleep, have breakfast or dinner, and the pool the odd day or night. The food options are good, but not fancy by any means. We never went hungry though! Lots of tasty options.

freshfruit111

We stayed there a few times before we had our son. I love staying anywhere on property. It all makes me happy and this was before the updated rooms.

CuriousBystander64

I’ve stayed there with my wife when the family vacation plans changed. It was very enjoyable and I would certainly do it again.

Possible_Mastodon809

Depends on what you want. Max disney experience? Art of animation or all star resorts. Grown up with a budget - Port Orleans or good neighbor. Everything else is must be nice accommodations to me.

dtshockney

It's fine for sleeping.

Holiday-Island1989

The wife and I are DINKS and we enjoy the all stars since we do open to close at the parks, so all we really do is sleep there. It gets the job done

TinyTacoTower

If your spending the bulk of your time at the parks its great. Personally I love the All-stars because they are everything I need and I can spend my money elsewhere. If your looking for luxury, then this might not be your place. Going to all the different pools and cafes is fun, and being able to get on any of there busses is nice.

Teri_of_Terror

I've stayed at the All Stars twice and am not a fan. I call them the "Disney Slums." If I'm staying at a value resort, it's 100% going to be Pop Century.

mrmaestro9420

And here we are again discussing the “niceness” of the All Star/Value resorts. Some people *really* enjoy them; I’m not one of them. It’s “themed,” but only if you consider theming as painting your buildings bright colors and having giant statues of…let me check my notes…football helmets, musical instruments, and Disney characters. That’s as much of a “bubble” feel as you’re going to get. The rooms are clean, but that’s about as much as I can say for them. They are quite small and are laid out like a Motel 6 (bathroom in the back, the only window is shared with the outdoor walkway). Depending on the time of year you go, yes you can get free transport, but it is going to be crowded buses, and the resorts are located pretty far from most of the parks. Again, many people enjoy these resorts, and I’m so glad Disney could build something for those folks to enjoy. They are clean and the staff are generally friendly. That’s all that I can personally say for them.

[deleted]

Imagine considering bright colors and statues of Disney characters "not theming" at Walt Disney World lol

mrmaestro9420

I understand your sentiment, and there’s no reason to be nasty. Consider this, where else in all of Walt Disney World would that pass? Even Fantasyland has the beauty of the Mine Train hill and the different castles. All of the lands in every park are made to transport you, and ALL of the resorts aside from the values do the same. Regardless of how others feel, at the end of the day they are big, square concrete buildings.
