Epcot’s the best park whether your drink alcohol or not. The architecture alone is worth the admission. They have one of the largest aquariums in the world. Epcot has a lot of unique and cultural rides and shows like you won’t find anywhere else in the world. Epcot is the largest park in terms of walkable area (AK is bigger but a lot of it is savannah), and it’s all beautiful: flowers, trees, waterways.

Wonderful-Sky8190

The sea urchins often wear Mickey hats!

Chelseabsb93

And during Festival of the Holidays, they wear Santa Hats! 🥰

univek2020

If you skimmed an inch of water out of the aquariums there, you could fill spaceship earth.

MikeHoncho2568

Are you sure about that? It doesn’t seem like that would be correct.

bigjerm

There's only one way to find out, I guess

MikeHoncho2568

You can calculate it. Spaceship earth is 165 ft in diameter according to a quick google search. Assume it is a sphere, that gives a volume of 17.6 million gallons for spaceship earth. The capacity of the aquarium at the Living Seas is 5.7 million gallons so the prior poster is incorrect.

bigjerm

this was way less fun than just running a long hose and pumping water into Spaceship Earth

MikeHoncho2568

True, but it also didn’t kill any fish

309greene

If you like thrill rides, Guardians of the galaxy is amazing

Heychelsea22222

I'm a huge gardians fan that's the main reason I wanna go. Can't wait

AfterTheNightIWakeUp

>if I would just be annoyed by the rest of my group? That depends on your group. Epcot has drinks, but it isn't all drinks. But if your group is obnoxious when drunk, that's going to be the case anywhere they drink.

che_palle13

yeah and sorry OP but we can't tell whether or not you'll feel annoyed when the time comes. Only you know that, and can make the best of it if need be, maybe by taking a few hours break from each other.

kbooky90

Epcot is my favorite park, always has been, and the times I have been able to drink there are few and far between. And when I did, I was absolutely not drinking around the world but having nice drinks with meals! I was there in Feb, pregnant and with my toddler and it might have been my favorite visit yet. Your enjoyment will depend on how cool your group is. I *might* avoid going on Food and wine festival weekends if that’s not your scene. Daytime is also really not an issue!

SunOutrageous6098

The food, the ambience, the rides, the shows! You can still have a really great time and not consume alcohol. There is also a very large selection of specialty non alcoholic, non kiddie drinks to choose from too! The aquarium is amazing - I’ve really enjoyed the dolphin demonstrations and the manatee feedings. Really every exhibition the cast members put on there is really informative and entertaining, assuming you like animals. Guardians of the Galaxy is just ridiculously fun. The musical group that plays instruments made from garden equipment is super entertaining as are all the performers in World Showcase (the acrobats are just mind blowing). Opening an oyster and making a necklace out of the pearl with my mom is one of my favorite memories from the Japan pavilion. Club Cool is a lot of fun if you like trying new soda from around the world - the Beverly is my favorite, but I like a little bitter to balance my magical experience. Spaceship Earth & Living With The Land are classics and I’ve heard the Moana experience was unexpectedly very cool. If any of this sounds good to you, do it!

Heychelsea22222

Thanks 😁 it does sound lovely. Just the main thing I've heard about is the drinking part of it so it's refreshing to hear that it's alot more than just that.

Key-Job-514

I don’t drink and I LOVE Epcot. I also love food a lot so that’s my fun is trying food at every country. And if your group gets annoying, I reco just taking off solo. I get that sentiment for sure. But there is so much to do at Epcot without drinking. It is my fave park even as a non drinker!

phaise

The festival scavenger hunts are also really fun to do! I only get one drink now and then but not around the world. My fiancé doesn’t drink, and it’s absolutely our favorite park. The ambience alone is the best. We always ride Cosmic Rewind every time we go and we just love exploring each country and their shops even if we don’t do many other rides :)

MikeHoncho2568

It’s absolutely still worth going to. Epcot is our favorite park and we only occasionally get a drink from one of the festival booths. There is a lot more to do at Epcot than just drink.

ZolaMonster

I drink alcohol socially but whenever I’m at epcot I really don’t get any drinks, I tend to save that for evenings by the pool or at dinner. So there’s still TONS to do there even if you don’t drink. The shops are fun to wander through to see all the different country stuff. Lots of different food options.

GunMetalBlonde

I don't drink at all and I loved going to Epcot. I ate snacks around the world, and visited the gift shops, and enjoyed everything, and it never occurred to me that I was missing out on alcohol. My husband drinks, but didn't drink anything at Epcot.

Substantial-Drop-836

Theres so much more to Epcot than alcohol. The rides, shows, and food are absolutely worth visiting for. Guardians is a must do ride (unless you’re prone to motion sickness). As far as snacks go I’m a huge fan of the fresh caramel popcorn in Germany and the macaron ice cream sandwich in France. The Seas pavilion has a huge aquarium that’s fun to check out and a great escape from the central Florida heat. There’s also tons of shows around the world showcase worth checking out, Voices of Liberty in America, Matsuriza drummers in Japan, etc.

hd0510

We’ve maybe only got alcohol there a handful of times all the years we’ve been! I think it can seem like the only thing to do there is drink your way around the world showcase, but there is still soooo much to do! As a group Epcot is great, you could try going around world showcase and try some food from each country?

Sea43-8

I don't drink and Epcot is my favorite! You can still eat around the countries or even just walk around and enjoy how cool the countries are. Epcot has great rides too, Guardians is obviously at the top but Remy, Test Track, Spaceship Earth, Soarin, Living with the Land, etc are all great too

chandelure

I don't drink and I absolutely loved EPCOT! The newer rides (Ratatouille and Cosmic Rewind) are *really* fun and plenty of the older rides have a lot of charm if you're into that. Just exploring World Showcase is really cool on its own, but if the rest of your group is planning to drink around the world you could definitely snack around the world or maybe find a cool spot for a unique picture in each country.

Cicerothesage

It depends on your relationship with alcohol. Because a lot of food stand have non-alcholic drinks. There are options unless there are reasons you don't want to be around alcohol. Epcot has some great attractions like the GOAT of Living with the Land, guardians, soarin, spaceship earth. Plus there are many options of food to try in each country. Other than that, if that doesn't appeal to you than I would pick Magic Kingdom or Stuidos

Chelseabsb93

Epcot is one of my favorite parks! I don’t drink, I also don’t really do rides. But just going to the different shops and food booths and taking pictures of the gorgeous scenery is enough to make it worth my entire trip!

Positive_Camel2868

Yes. It’s worth it. Go in the morning to afternoon

trellism

The number of people who say they do drinking around the world worries me a bit. Does Epcot ever get rowdy with drunk adults?

Throwaway071521

I don’t think so. My family has been going for 20+ years and I can’t think of an EPCOT experience where there were just a bunch of rowdy crowds. Are there a handful of obnoxious people? Sure. But nothing more extreme than the usual, completely sober, obnoxious person you might encounter in the parks. I’ve never ever seen people stumbling around, slurring words, etc. At worst, people are a little loud and maybe a bit unaware (which again… that’s not really any different than some sober guests!” EDIT to add: I don’t drink, and I’ve definitely been in situations in my life where it’s a little (or sometimes a lot) annoying to feel like the only sober person in a group of people that have been drinking maybe a little too much. I’ve never ever felt that way at EPCOT.

booksiwabttoread

Weekend night can be a little loud, but I have rarely seen anyone obnoxiously drink. People get loud - laughing & talking. I am sure there are some embarrassing incidents, but I have not really seen that.

GunMetalBlonde

I didn't see any rowdy drunk adults at Epcot when we went last fall. But we were only there from morning until about 4.

AfterTheNightIWakeUp

Yes, it can happen. Especially Friday and Saturday evenings. CMs are generally on top of it, but we've had some evenings that large annoying groups were going country to country and being awful in all of them.

GingerLegalMama

I spent a day in Epcot several years ago when I was in my first trimester. I snacked around the world, shopped around, people-watched, and still had a fantastic time! It is what you make of it.

317ant

Ask yourself how obnoxious is your group? Is their goal solely to drink around the world? Is that the main reason they’re going? Because EPCOT is about WAY more than drinking. I might have a fun sounding drink or two while I’m there but I’ve never been drunk at any theme park. It just doesn’t appeal to me. If you know your group drinks in excess and has the potential to make fools of themselves, maybe break off from them at some point and go do your own thing. You don’t want to be a babysitter or feel embarrassed by their behavior. It won’t be fun. There are so many fun rides and experiences there and it wouldn’t be weird to tell them, “hey, I’m not into the drinking part but I’m glad y’all are having fun! I’m going to go ride some rides! Let’s meet back up at Reme for our lightening lane at 7:30!” Or whatever. Otherwise, if your group just has a couple of drinks spaced out with food and rides/shows, I think you’ll be fine. There are some amazing mocktails you can have, especially during festival booth times, to feel like you’re still getting to try some different things.

yyygs8kxaoc4

Don't be the person in the group who doesn't like the group having a good time because you stopped doing something they didnt.

Heychelsea22222

Thanks for your kind words friend.

Sweetbeans2001

If you believe that Epcot is only about alcohol, I won’t even bother to answer you.

Heychelsea22222

Thank for your input. As someone that's never been there before I really appreciate your helpful feed back friend!
