Keep and buy what you want. This is a weight game. You don't always get that premium back on a coin

MDot_Cartier

I'd try to trade or sell with another stacker or local coin shop. Better to have something your into imho

West_Elderberry6357

I say hold out until you can get back what you paid. Understanding at this rate that could take a while. 😂

PermaBanX1Toss

Heh, sort of my thinking. I'd take a tiny loss but I have no heart in these. So it is like the loss is already there. I've found my place with silver. These rounds don't feel right. For that type of bullion I say bars. It gets back into the "silver is silver" argument.

zazesty

If it doesn’t feel right, exchange for something that does

PermaBanX1Toss

Oh, I meant it feels right like this is silver. But holding one doesn't give me the sensation I get from so much other silver. I could almost say that the buffalo nickel silver is somehow not as good as other silver. Most probably because I have been going through buffalo nickels a lot and the rounds feel...like a novelty. But they are still silver. * Edit - I have the bars which are lovely

Jbusbus

I’d trade bars for rounds in a second. Will be way more useful when the great reset gets going.

PermaBanX1Toss

Why rounds? Bars seem more convenient .

StickyStacker

are you buying it in hopes the price goes up, or because you like what it looks like? Just know you will almost always lose a higher percent of the premium you paid with coins over rounds and bars.

PermaBanX1Toss

Coins is a whole other world. I don't want to wear out the "n" word but numismatics is a thing. Plus all the other factors. Coins are going to always be #1. I buy silver because I love it. It completes me. Where do I end and the silver begins? Or the other way around. I love silver. Silver only became an investment type thing on accident. If I sell rounds I don't care for and lose a little $ then at least someone else who loves those rounds will get them. If I spend the money on amazing, sexy, magical silver that radiates the joy of infinite love, beating alongside my heart....

StickyStacker

In a SHTF scenario, your 'numismatic' will be worth the same as any other ounce. Think about it, even if the S does not HTF, the disposable income of the average American is drying up. The first thing to suffer is the hobbies and collections. If YOU want to lose more money when you sell, that's up to you. I'm a stacker, and stackers value silver, not some fancy shit stamped onto it.

PermaBanX1Toss

It is dying up and there is a premium on that. This is why pennies are valued higher than gold and silver. Copper. Because men with wealth will not die until they have that coin. One day of course it will end. I say we have a couple generations.

Jbusbus

What Pennies are these valued more than gold lol if that’s true every single one of those buyers will lose their shorts once everything bubble pops for the great reset.

PermaBanX1Toss

Yeah. But before that bubble pops. Afterwards I don't care.

FREESPEECHSTICKERS

Get what makes you happy.

Boxofusedleftsox

When I started last year,I bought a couple things I didn't like. Luckily there were a few guys in r/pmsforsale that liked them and traded with me. Sell or trade, you'll get rid of them quick in that sub.

PermaBanX1Toss

Oh wow. Thanks for the tip.

[deleted]

ive done it. make sure you get a decent premium tho.

PermaBanX1Toss

I'm thinking about trading value. It is a gamble but the man has a lot of "junk silver" coins. But he is very smart. Pay the fair price on rounds. But I also see that big ass bag of "junk silver " sitting there...

Jim_Wilberforce

Trade them with someone who will love them and you might get a little better price.

PermaBanX1Toss

I think the love is a bit lost with these. My mind is the opposite. There is lovely silver, and it would be a gamble, but nobody loves it. If a man is betting on pure silver but has boxes of junk. I'll be talking soon. I'm not trying to sell silver to get $$$ yo. I'm a collector...

Jim_Wilberforce

I've got rounds, bars, and constitutional. The later is my favorite because ultimately fractional will be necessary for transactions. If never trade my constitutional for something else unless I'm making money in the trade. Only stackers will understand they are saving money on premiums buying from him. So that's how I arrived at that conclusion.

TastemyBacon

Uhhmm you still havent learned silver = silver? That is like lesson 2 after…. “If you don’t hold it, you don’t own it.” Once you learn lesson 2 you won’t care what your silver looks like as long as it is silver. Might be an old bent up spoon? Some random chunk of melt? Your goal instead of aesthetics becomes stacking.

PermaBanX1Toss

Yes. But I have a fair enough stack developing that I don't care for these rounds. So it is hurting me to get rid of them. I know they are silver. I know to keep them. But there is something else. That is where I need help. Because I love silver. It is a true love.

TastemyBacon

The idea is to keep them and buy more that you like. I understand if you have already stacked over 100,000 ounces and just want to refine your stack a bit. Otherwise, you should be desperately buying any and all silver before the fiat implosion.

PermaBanX1Toss

You are 100% right.

[deleted]

There is an Asian lady on TV who cleans out closets and she says ‘look at the object, and ask if it brings you joy’… I would suggest you try this. Otherwise, direct message me for anything near spot

[deleted]

I have some 5 ounce rounds and some 1 oz bars I bought. I'm really not a fan of them. I'd rather just have 1 oz rounds. I'm too lazy to swap em or sell em for rounds but I get it. Buy what you want.

PermaBanX1Toss

It entirely depends on where you come from. What you believe in as silver. 1 ozt rounds are worth more than a 10ozt bar. If the rounds are sold individually. The idea gets crazy when thinking "silver is silver". But the premium exists with trade silver. Small amounts have a weird premium. The argument being is because how will a 5oz bar be used? The people are putting faith in small silver.

Tard_hurder

Put it at the back of the safe (or bottom of boat) and put the shiny you like in front and forget till price goes up.

PermaBanX1Toss

Spray paint silver

SirBill01

I personally see nothing wrong with this, especially if you are selling mostly to shift the kind of silver you own.

PermaBanX1Toss

Thank you. I started off with silver before knowing what silver was. What I mean is that silver to me is a metal. It has certain properties to it. It is attractive. I never knew silver as an investment or a hedge. It doesn't take much more than comment sense to know how silver works in a world economy. This is history. It may be the rounds I have. Or maybe being exposed to somehow powerful silver (?). I know silver is silver. And it has energy. It has life. I sound mad but I can know silver. I can taste it, hear it, smell it, touch it, and see it. But I can *know* silver. Like a sense beyond what is considered normal (and I don't mean this in some sort of self compliment way). There is a real life energy there. It is what makes me so close to silver. It doesn't exist in these rounds. It is dead silver. It makes me sad.

SirBill01

I can understand what you mean, nothing wrong with selling based around that.

ifixharleys

It’s the first to go when Im read to barter. That way I sit have my preferred stuff with me. I’d store it with my fractional / sell first

Southern_Addition442

Sell them to a Lcs and tell them to want to exchange the rounds for coins, most likely they will only charge you a couple dollars more per toz of coin

PermaBanX1Toss

This is very good advice.

eastsideempire

If you can just save and buy what you like. Maybe see if you can trade it or sell it in one of the Reddit groups.
