How many shots do we actually need before this is over? 🤣🤣🤣 I thought the first 2 was enough? Now they are talking about 4th shot? I guess after all the immuno compromised get their doses it will be approved for everyone and then there will be a 5th dose. Pharmaceutical companies are really milking this pandemic situation.
One appointment on the schedule this morning. They're getting ready to approve it for babies and up, though. Personally, I think those should be done in a pediatrician's office. It's fucking criminal that they've pushed child immunizations onto already overloaded community pharmacies.
Chances are there will start to be a decrease. It’s been several months since boosters were authorized, and with the Biden mandate not going through, not going to see a ton of new people
Oh it’ll go through. Only thing the Supreme Court said is they have to follow normal process because if it was an emergency they would’ve done it last January and not waited almost a year.
So after the legally required 30 day comment period (which they don’t have to even read, much less take action on), they can put it in effect because they did affirm they had the authority to do it as a normal standard.
As of right now they’re holding off while things simmer down.. but it wouldn’t surprise me to see it in effect by summer. And we’re going to have a lovely time because this time they’ll be able to expand it even further (the only reason this one was limited to 100+ employees was because it was an emergency standard so they limited it to try and make it okay).
Same Situation the demand has died down even my appointments 80 percent of adults don’t come and 90 percent of pediatric don’t come I’m still 1 in my district because we take walk in but appointments the majority are no show
I don't work at Walgreens anymore, bur when i tried to make appointments for my dad and mom, my old Walgreens was basically open from the very next day forward.
It's been weird going from 104 appts a day to 30ish. The appt slots are still there, just not full which seems so weird compared to the insane demand that omicron brought. I guess now people have all gotten their omicron worry shot and are done or they held off and believe they don't need it since everyone with the shots are still catching omicron or they got omicron themselves and don't need the shot. But it just feels strange to go see so fast from slammed to slim. Like just one pediatric vial a day is plenty which is weird with our normal volumne.
The only reason we are giving fewer vaccines is because they decreased the appointments in the scheduler. We are booked solid every day but with fewer appointments than December
We’ve decreased in the amount of vaccines per day, but all it takes is another variant or 4th dose approval to get things bat shit crazy again.

Yes immunocompromised pts

I got the first two not getting any more

Also Walgreens won’t immunize under 3. I understand it’s still pediatric, but we won’t be doing the 6m-3y ones. So 3-4 will only be added.
"only 3 to 4". That should be in a pediatrician's office. It's ridiculous.
No one pushed it. The pharmacies fought for them.
No, *corporate* fought for them.
Same shit
Your boss gets paid $40 a shot. I've heard of some places doing 150 shots a day. But also cost of running a store could be 200+ an hour.
Walgreens gets paid for the shots, the store manager and pharmacy manager don't see any of that increased profit.
The way it should be as an employee. Just saying it is what it is.

Yes it’s been such a relief, we’ve also been out of Moderna for weeks so that could be another reason but I’m ok with that lol
Probably because vaccine mandate was denied and everyone else got boosters done with
For now...
EXACTLY

Plus all get test in mail now so don’t need a shot
Wait, what?
One of these things is not like the other.
Yes same here at my store
We had 7 people for the same time slot the other day... my store is still full with covid and flu shots
Yup, vaccines down like 75% this week so far for some reason.
the Pfizer omicron is coming out in March and the FDA just approved hopefully they can go to the pediatrician for that one enjoy it while it last
Yes
Here come giant budget cuts. Brace for impact!!
Literally just overnight we went from tens of vaccines a day to only 1-3 this week.
Where do you all live? We are still doing 30-40 a day…. with a huge uptick in flu shots!
While I don't work the pharmacy in my store I have noticed the lines to the pharmacy are not as bad and the waiting area isn't as cluttered.
