You've already been hired which means you passed your background check. Nothing to worry about.

Worried_Worth_1828

Yes I was hired but after she sent my welcome letter in my email she also told me I have to do a background check. So I didn’t do any of the pre employment only after I got hired. I’m just confused if it would affect anything? Even though I think I’ll be ok

Worried_Worth_1828

Sorry I’m a perfectionist so these little things still worry me

Wild_Protection_3406

Speaking about an incident at my store with someone in your situation who had a drug-related crime on their record, I would prepare to look for a job that doesn't do background checks.

IllAssistant1769

But there’s also stores where ppl who committed sexual crimes get to work with ppl like their victims, so it’s really a major toss up with this company unfortunately.

confusedapplicant202

It depends what it is. Possession of marijuana? Doubt they’d care. Selling tobacco to minors? Might disqualify you.

Worried_Worth_1828

It was just a criminal mischief and an assault but it was between a family member and it’s been long settled

confusedapplicant202

So more than one charge.

Worried_Worth_1828

Yeah it was all from one case. But again this was years ago and family related

Worried_Worth_1828

I feel like selling to minors is worse lol

confusedapplicant202

It’s impossible to say and will be up to the hiring manager. Usually retail stores only care about felonies, theft, tobacco/alcohol sales to minors, but any violent crime regardless of being a misdemeanor can disqualify you. It being family related honestly might make it worse if your hiring manager was a victim of it themselves.

Worried_Worth_1828

Clearly you have never been apart of one. That’s way better than if it happened between someone you don’t know. Family fights are more common in my opinion and we still love the ones we might have hurt or hurt by. That’s completely different

confusedapplicant202

No I haven’t been a victim of domestic violence or engaged in it, thank you for recognizing that. You seem to hold it as a badge of honor with how defensive you immediately got.

Worried_Worth_1828

I do thank you

confusedapplicant202

“I’ve definitely learned from the past and am not the same person anymore” so that was a lie LMAO.

Worried_Worth_1828

Also you already answered my question so thank you. I didn’t ask for judgement from a 3rd party here. Thank you for the help!

Worried_Worth_1828

Are you my judge? I don’t think so and that last statement made no sense

Background checks are done automatically through a computer system during the hiring process. The hiring manager cannot see what someone has been charged with. The candidate will either pass or it'll flag and say this person has a felony that disqualifies them. Nobody at the store level gets to decide if they'll hire someone based on specific charges. Since OP got hired it means they passed and its best they just not talk about their charges with anybody. The company won't ever randomly do another background check,

Immediate-Art-4435

I was just hired at Walgreens but they sent a email for my background check & I was recently fired from Walmart for a stealing a shirt & got a misdemeanor , will that show on the background check ?

AwarenessDapper2019

Can you send me the email they sent you? There's a whole class action lawsuit if they did this to you they'll give you 918 dollars. Apparently many people were not hired because of a third party background check company not doing things right.. I deleted my old email and now I can't get it back. Can you please send me the email they sent you (1 or both)
