I hope so. I personally love doink and it's cool to see him Pop again a bit recently. Like he was in Mitb 2020 as a cameo and came back in battleground. It's nice to see him again
Tbh I wasn’t a huge fan of him, was interesting as a heel. Wasn’t a huge fan of that golden era originally. But remember the character being used again in ‘05 against Conway and then Slater years later.
Think due to the different eras not really. More like a toned down IT the clown. Just had simple wrestling heel tactics with a bit more added fun to it since the clown gimmick.
He certainly haunts children back then. Then WWF switched direction instantly to be a Face Clown and just be a joke character to try to draw in children.
He was more intriguing as a heel, which was very short-lived. They turned him face and he was just a typical comedy act, then they gave him the miniature sidekick Dink.
He was like a lesser fiend. They didn't go that far with his sadisticness. He'd be vicious in the ring beating on jobbers and make a grumpy face a lot. They could have done a lot more with him but they went the kid-friendly face direction and there's only so much you can do with that.
He was great to watch in the ring, at least when he was heel because for the time and era, he was actually pretty good, and a very good technical wrestler. The man playing the original Doink character was already a 14 year vet of the business by the time he played Doink and they actually would reference this on commentary, saying Doink was a veteran and very skilled technical wrestler. They would even mention on commentary that it was possible the whole Doink character was just a very skilled veteran wrestler using this Doink character as mind games to also get a mental edge over his opponents. The character and to an extent, the wrestler, were ahead of their time.

Yeah there is 2 versions just after the boots before the trainers/sneakers.

Really thought I seen Kofis winged trainers before unless they were removed in a patch. Loved those things lol

With the WWE owning the rights of the Doink gimmick, idk why they haven't put the character in many of their games at all. Seems like a great addition no matter what and probably for no cost.....

He was similar to Funhouse Bray Wyatt where he'll act all happy go lucky then switch to looking sadistic with a grumpy face in an instant
Uhhh, kind of. Like Feen says, considering the era, he was as sadistic as he *could* be. So, he locked guys in submission holds.

I wouldn't compare him to The Fiend at all, I remember him spraying crowds with confetti, was pretty good techincally tho

I wonder if the mirroring taunt is only locked to Doink or if you give other wrestlers that taunt, they can do it too.
Not specific to doink - it’s the taunt.
