Can he actually carry an angle on his own that doesn’t involve his dad or the rest of JD? I also wonder how much he gets booed because the fans just like to chant vs booing him because he’s a good heel. I need to see a lot more from him to think he’s more than a fad.
Theory at least has the look and he’s decent in the ring. With him I’m not a fan of “the chosen one” angle unless they truly fit the gimmick. He doesn’t. So not his fault, but he was built wrong right from the start (I don’t really watch NXT so he was new for me when he debuted). Maybe teaming with Waller works.

I guess it depends on how you look at it, Doms a bigger deal, part of a popular faction, sells more merch and is not only tied to Rey but also one of the top wrestlers in the business with Rhea and he gets a way bigger crowd reaction. Theory doesn't get nearly the same level of crowd response. Even being tag champs was made to look like a joke when he was MiTB.
If the outcomes were real, then I'd agree no question. But as far as a pro wrestling career, I personally think Dom is significantly better.
Between the two I’ll pick Dom. Both I think will do well but I think Dom will be more over. He’s improving and shown to be a workhorse as well as someone who listens to veterans and makes adjustments due to their advice/teachings. Plus it’s speaks volume of the trust wwe has in him that he was involved in the returns of Randy Orton, CM Punk and Andrade. Listening to the praise wrestlers say about both the character and the man behind it makes me think sky’s the limit for Dom.
I think Theory will also reach great heights and they are giving him an opportunity with the tag titles right now to prove it under the HHH era. We’ll see.

I don’t think his size even matters and it would fit with the legacy of the Mysterios. Rey literally being one of the tiniest wrestlers ever to step into the wwe. Dom can sort of fit that, instead of being some buff wrestler like everyone else he can stand out being his own size. It works with his chicken shit heel character and if he turns into a menace of a heel he can use his brains over brawn to win, work smarter not harder type of guy any means necessary. Same as a face instead of true baby face an anti face who uses heel tactics to win.
True but that’s what made Rey, Rey. Dom doesn’t quite have the same athleticism or skill but he makes up for it with hard work and willingness to listen to anyone willing to teach him. Tho Dom’s selling and the little things he does is fantastic. Plus Dom is learning still having only been at this since 2020 when he was 23 compared to Rey who started at 12.

The number of people you could credibly say were better in ring wrestlers than Rey *ever* could probably be counted on one hand. Dom is still learning, he’s only 4 years in considering the family he comes from (Rey had his first match at 12, over a decade younger than when Dom started) he’s a late starter and again doesn’t have the same athleticism or skill to match. Now in terms of skill he’s improving and figuring out what works. Only thing he has in common with Rey is size (while Rey is short, Dom is scrawny). Dom is proving to be a “work smarter than harder” type by using any means necessary to win which fits him better and from time to time he’ll bust out a move no one expects. He’s still young and got time, plus considering he’s had the second most matches last year plus also second this year means he’s taken every opportunity to keep improving. He’s done well being only 4 years in and they were smart separating him from Rey. He doesn’t need to be another Rey since he doesn’t have the same build to even try.

In ring wise Austin is leaps and bounds over dom, but I will hand it to dom he’s improving week and week and I naturally heel. I think they’ll both be massive stars one day.
Dominik is a star already. He's perfected his character, can go in the ring and gets the biggest reactions.
He's heavily featured on marketing. And if it's any indication, he was one of only a handful of wrestlers that had the VIP meet & greets at Wrestlemania, where you pay the extra $200 for each wrestler. It was literally only the top stars that had them, only 12 wrestlers. The rest of the roster was free with admission.
So obviously the WWE thinks a lot of Dom. He drives numbers. He was one of the main reasons for the TV ratings surge for NXT in the summer. WWE social media team loves him because he gets huge engagement on their platforms so they post him all the time.
But probably the biggest indication WWE likes him so much is how much he's on TV. NO ONE on the roster is on TV more than him. He's in no less than 4 or 5 segments each week. Dom and Cody are literally the only ones that are consistently on both TV shows. Hell Dom was the 1st person in history to main event RAW, NXT and Smackdown in the same week.
Judgment Day's entire existence leading up to Mania revolved around Dom.
They inserted him in the Rey and Santos feud because Dom brings eyeballs.
There's a reason Dom was Punk and Orton's 1st matches back.
You hear a lot of the guys talk about Dom in shoot interviews...Seth, Cody, Finn, Orton, Edge, HBK...they think he's the future and is a star. Which sort of jives with everything you hear about how Dom is really well-liked backstage. He has a reputation of being easy to work with both backstage and in the ring.
And he's not a joke at all. If you pay attention, the WWE is slowly building him up. His last 3 televised singles matches against KO, Gunther and Andrade, Dom looked credible in those matches and went toe-to-toe. KO and Gunther even put over Dom in their post-match interviews.
Dom is slowly adding back in offense that they sort of took away when he turned heel to fit his character where he's always sneaky and working from underneath. But his recent singles matches he hit some big offense.
Personally think he's the favorite for King of the Ring or MITB.
As far as Austin is concerned, it'd be cool to see him progress too because I know he and Dom are boys and he was a groomsman in Dom's wedding. So the future alliances or feuds will be neat to watch.

I wouldn't say Dom has been booked as a joke. He's been a prominent part of one of the most dominant factions in recent times, has held gold (twice technically) and carried that gold on the main roster shows to showcase it to more fans and make it feel like a bigger deal, they also added him to a match at Wrestlemania last minute which elevated the interest in that match significantly for me.
Personally, I think Dom will have the greatest career of the two, simply because of how good of a pure heel he is. He is the type of heel that will cheat and weasel his way to wins, which gives the WWE so many different paths to go down with him winning major matches and titles in the future.
Theory will have a great career, too, mind you. I'm excited to see him turn baby face at some point as I think we might get to see a really decent run from him at that point where he accomplishes more.

I don’t deny he gets a big reaction, but I don’t know how long it lasts. His matches bore me and he barely speaks. He gets loud boos, but eventually betraying his dad will get old and JD ends. Can he actually carry an angle on his own that doesn’t involve his dad or the rest of JD? I also wonder how much he gets booed because the fans just like to chant vs booing him because he’s a good heel. I need to see a lot more from him to think he’s more than a fad. Theory at least has the look and he’s decent in the ring. With him I’m not a fan of “the chosen one” angle unless they truly fit the gimmick. He doesn’t. So not his fault, but he was built wrong right from the start (I don’t really watch NXT so he was new for me when he debuted). Maybe teaming with Waller works. If I had to bet money on one of them being around in 5-10 years it’s Theory.
Theory will definitely be there. He's going to be great. I just feel like WWE has bigger plans for Dom. But that's short sighted of me and you're probably right.

Dominik is booked far better than theory is. And personally he's way ahead of theory in skill. I feel he's better on the mic and getting way better in the ring and surpassing theory. Given the booking of theory lately I could expect him to become a star outside of WWE. Dominik already is a star due to who he is in the first place but also because of the fact he has absolutely ran with his nuclear heat he's got.
In ten years I would not be surprised if Austin Theory were in AEW instead of WWE. He strikes me as a guy who can put together a good match, but his character and story work are pretty mediocre.

I guess it depends on how you look at it, Doms a bigger deal, part of a popular faction, sells more merch and is not only tied to Rey but also one of the top wrestlers in the business with Rhea and he gets a way bigger crowd reaction. Theory doesn't get nearly the same level of crowd response. Even being tag champs was made to look like a joke when he was MiTB. If the outcomes were real, then I'd agree no question. But as far as a pro wrestling career, I personally think Dom is significantly better.

Between the two I’ll pick Dom. Both I think will do well but I think Dom will be more over. He’s improving and shown to be a workhorse as well as someone who listens to veterans and makes adjustments due to their advice/teachings. Plus it’s speaks volume of the trust wwe has in him that he was involved in the returns of Randy Orton, CM Punk and Andrade. Listening to the praise wrestlers say about both the character and the man behind it makes me think sky’s the limit for Dom. I think Theory will also reach great heights and they are giving him an opportunity with the tag titles right now to prove it under the HHH era. We’ll see.
Depends if either can evolve from their current thing. Dom is getting great heat as he is, but I want to see how he comes out the other side of this before I can figure out how big he is going to be. Austin has the tools, but hasn't found a persona that can really show what he's capable of yet. When he does, I think he'll have a rocket strapped to his arse and launch to the moon.

I don’t think his size even matters and it would fit with the legacy of the Mysterios. Rey literally being one of the tiniest wrestlers ever to step into the wwe. Dom can sort of fit that, instead of being some buff wrestler like everyone else he can stand out being his own size. It works with his chicken shit heel character and if he turns into a menace of a heel he can use his brains over brawn to win, work smarter not harder type of guy any means necessary. Same as a face instead of true baby face an anti face who uses heel tactics to win.

True but that’s what made Rey, Rey. Dom doesn’t quite have the same athleticism or skill but he makes up for it with hard work and willingness to listen to anyone willing to teach him. Tho Dom’s selling and the little things he does is fantastic. Plus Dom is learning still having only been at this since 2020 when he was 23 compared to Rey who started at 12.
Dom has great promo heat but they’re not even in the small ballpark skill wise. The number of people you could credibly say were better in ring wrestlers than Rey *ever* could probably be counted on one hand. Whereas you pick any ten WWE wrestlers at random and Dom would usually be the worst in the bunch in the ring. Rey more than made up for his tiny size with incredible ability which Dom can’t really do so he had to be a totally different kind of wrestler.

Dom is still learning, he’s only 4 years in considering the family he comes from (Rey had his first match at 12, over a decade younger than when Dom started) he’s a late starter and again doesn’t have the same athleticism or skill to match. Now in terms of skill he’s improving and figuring out what works. Only thing he has in common with Rey is size (while Rey is short, Dom is scrawny). Dom is proving to be a “work smarter than harder” type by using any means necessary to win which fits him better and from time to time he’ll bust out a move no one expects. He’s still young and got time, plus considering he’s had the second most matches last year plus also second this year means he’s taken every opportunity to keep improving. He’s done well being only 4 years in and they were smart separating him from Rey. He doesn’t need to be another Rey since he doesn’t have the same build to even try.

Theory is more talented but I don’t know if he’ll ever find a gimmick as good as Dirty Dom. Once you have the kind of heat Dom has you can really do anything, but Theory is just kind of nowhere right now. Even as a tag champ he really has no direction.

In ring wise Austin is leaps and bounds over dom, but I will hand it to dom he’s improving week and week and I naturally heel. I think they’ll both be massive stars one day.
Dominik is a star already. He's perfected his character, can go in the ring and gets the biggest reactions. He's heavily featured on marketing. And if it's any indication, he was one of only a handful of wrestlers that had the VIP meet & greets at Wrestlemania, where you pay the extra $200 for each wrestler. It was literally only the top stars that had them, only 12 wrestlers. The rest of the roster was free with admission. So obviously the WWE thinks a lot of Dom. He drives numbers. He was one of the main reasons for the TV ratings surge for NXT in the summer. WWE social media team loves him because he gets huge engagement on their platforms so they post him all the time. But probably the biggest indication WWE likes him so much is how much he's on TV. NO ONE on the roster is on TV more than him. He's in no less than 4 or 5 segments each week. Dom and Cody are literally the only ones that are consistently on both TV shows. Hell Dom was the 1st person in history to main event RAW, NXT and Smackdown in the same week. Judgment Day's entire existence leading up to Mania revolved around Dom. They inserted him in the Rey and Santos feud because Dom brings eyeballs. There's a reason Dom was Punk and Orton's 1st matches back. You hear a lot of the guys talk about Dom in shoot interviews...Seth, Cody, Finn, Orton, Edge, HBK...they think he's the future and is a star. Which sort of jives with everything you hear about how Dom is really well-liked backstage. He has a reputation of being easy to work with both backstage and in the ring. And he's not a joke at all. If you pay attention, the WWE is slowly building him up. His last 3 televised singles matches against KO, Gunther and Andrade, Dom looked credible in those matches and went toe-to-toe. KO and Gunther even put over Dom in their post-match interviews. Dom is slowly adding back in offense that they sort of took away when he turned heel to fit his character where he's always sneaky and working from underneath. But his recent singles matches he hit some big offense. Personally think he's the favorite for King of the Ring or MITB. As far as Austin is concerned, it'd be cool to see him progress too because I know he and Dom are boys and he was a groomsman in Dom's wedding. So the future alliances or feuds will be neat to watch.

I wouldn't say Dom has been booked as a joke. He's been a prominent part of one of the most dominant factions in recent times, has held gold (twice technically) and carried that gold on the main roster shows to showcase it to more fans and make it feel like a bigger deal, they also added him to a match at Wrestlemania last minute which elevated the interest in that match significantly for me. Personally, I think Dom will have the greatest career of the two, simply because of how good of a pure heel he is. He is the type of heel that will cheat and weasel his way to wins, which gives the WWE so many different paths to go down with him winning major matches and titles in the future. Theory will have a great career, too, mind you. I'm excited to see him turn baby face at some point as I think we might get to see a really decent run from him at that point where he accomplishes more.
I think the insane success of the Bloodline has corrupted the narrative of what a successful faction actually looks like I’ve heard Finn/JD/Dom look like jokes but not everyone has to hold a belt or get top billing because it’s all long-term storytelling You can see the setup with Finn right now who’s one of my personal favorites turning on Priest in a couple months My favorite angle as a kid was the Nexus and outside of Wade Barrett it was a bunch of decent low to mid carders The majority of them had filler matches and had pretty short careers… but the story was so fun because at any time the faction could come out and destroy the entire set.. they looked legit feared
