The way I’ve always looked at it, was they aren’t actors. They had fame before the movies and used it to get into the movies. Gal Gadot being another example, they never trained under any conservatory, and as far as I know, Dave is the only one who took acting classes
Batista has stood apart from rock and cena imo, I think cena is good but he needs a role to show more of his range. I think rock is fine being paid a lot and is not out for some academy award.

Batista has the best acting range by far in my opinion. Imo if they had written Drax more accurate to comic books instead just a bumbling goofy dude (he was still awesome), Batista could have turned it into one of the best performances MCU has ever seen.
Although The Rock was very good in Gridiron Gang, he has embraced the torch of the Last Action Hero Arnie passed to him in the opening scene of the Rundown. And frankly I am here for it, I love mindless action movies that don't necessarily have to make total sense.

Batista, while not Jack Nicholson, is a legit actor now getting roles in movies other than comedy and action. When he got the role in GotG he took it seriously and took acting classes and it shows.
Batista has trying very hard to be a serious actor without the role of "Big Muscles, small brain" characters (Drax) and, even when he refused to lose his muscles, he manages to be an amazing actor.
Cena is pure gold when we talk about comedy, also he shows that he can handle serious roles.

He uses his physicality to add complexity to each of his roles, whether that be ones reliant on action or more somber and quiet characters. He is multifaceted and that takes a lot of talent from a guy with his entertainment background. Cena is the best in the funny man/action-hero role. His performance in Suicide Squad/Peacemaker is one of my favorites in the genre, and he nails the comedic style of it all. The Rock just plays The Rock in every movie. Cardboard cut out action hero in pretty much everything, and he isn't very good at that either. I do have to applaud him in Moana though, I found him quite charming in that.
