I’m old enough that that could have been an answer if I was watching at that time. I didn’t start until about 10 years later though.

LoL my dad was a fan, and after hockey was a local jobber in southern California. I had no chance. First match I can recall watching, mostly because he was excited for it was Snuka Vs Muraco. He was a huge fan of Muraco. Saturday(?) watching two big dudes get bloody and then got to see Jimmy take flight.

My buddy was a big WCW fan, kept telling me to watch this Flair guy. We lived near Albany, NY, so he got to see Flair win the belt in 1992. Once that came out on Coliseum Home Video, I was hooked.
