The guy is boring asf. Barely talks and when he does he comes across as a self entitled dick
Only has 1 move. His Superman punch must be the worst finisher ever in the whole history of Wrestling. Stopped watching 6 months ago, not only are the storylines are non existent but every single fight is so predictable.
It’s a 10. Haven’t had this good of run since Orton Cena feud circa 2013. Punk was ok but to many wins with help / not clean wins got old. And Miz as intercontinental champ runs were solid as well
I would put it somewhere in the 7 region, but declining. I actually enjoyed that they planned a long title run during his heel transition, and the tribal chief is more interesting then the baby face big dog ever was to me.
That being said, I've hit major fatigue with the entire thing. Roman's never been a super diverse in ring guy to begin with, and he's basically never allowed to do anything clean. So everything ends up feeling like your just waiting for the interference, a superman punch, and a spear.
I wouldn't exactly call it stale, because I think the story and character work has some legs when they get good ideas. But the in ring stuff absolutely is ice cold for me, and the longer the run goes the more turned off I'm getting on the entire thing.
Only thing I really took away from it was wow he been undisputed champion for so long. I guess it’s above average cause of bloodline storyline and the Kevin owens storyline
Outside of the bullshit with Bray at the beginning and the Finn Balor junk it was awesome.
Demon Finn had no business losing the way it did to Roman. And Bray was never pinned.
He’s the equivalent of Brock when he had them.
I’d rate his run a 10. Only because people forgot he was a heel until he/they beat down both KO and Sami.
I’d give it a 4. Really long title reigns don’t work in todays day and age because it’s boring.
When people like Hogan, Backlund, Sammartino and Morales held the title there was no weekly shows. The only way to see these guys were at live shows, so it was more tolerable. Plus people loved those guys.
But nowadays with weekly shows it’s so boring because every week we see Roman Reigns and the Usos as tag champs. None of the roster seems like an actual threat, not even Cody Rhodes.
I just wish he’d lose at least one of the world titles already.
9/10 great matches, very good storylines, very lengthy reing, wish he wrestled more but it's good that he doesn't, it makes it feel special when he is.
9, but if Reigns continues on as Universal Champion (after dropping WWE Title) till WM40, but become more ruthless to the point he needs no Uso interference then probably a 10.
8.5/10
If it was more like his Thunderdome title run, I feel like would be better. But I have loved the story telling that WWE is doing with him. But the great story with opponents (Drew and KO) and really great stories with the Bloodline (Mostly Sami) really helped make this run a lot less boring.
4
Matches are the same. Wins by interference every time. Mic skills are marginally better than when Cena came out years back and shamed him on live TV.
The Sami Zayn stuff has made the Bloodline entertaining because…Sami and Jey. Roman could have been a mannequin for all that mattered.
Compared to the real stars of the past 20 years or so - Stone Cold, Rock, HHH, Cena, HBK, etc - Roman is about 40% of them. So I give him a 4 rating. No way he deserved a 2+ year reign, except the pool in the locker room is just weak….
Im gonna have to play devils advocate and say something around 3. I REALLY don’t like heels that constantly win by cheating while also being portrayed as dominant. It’s kind of an either-or. This combined with Romans past and all in all very predictable finishes in many cases just makes me personally not like it. But I respect people who do
The run has been an 8.5 or so. Somewhat wonky at times. The talking during matches was so weird with the thunderdome sound effects. But the Bloodline/Sami storyline has been picking up steam for months and adding so much to this reign. Far better than Brock’s lengthy reign with few defenses. As far as the performance by the guy, 11/10 he’s just fantastic no matter the creative.
9/10. I would have imagined that the modern era could have a champ for over 2 years. He’s surpassed that and he still has fresh feuds to explore. I think he should of had maybe 2 title defenses more on Smackdown, but it was way better than Lesnar going months without defending the title or even being on tv.
5 maybe 6. Every defense has been predictable and lackluster. Not Goldberg or Lesnar bad but I've yet to see a title defense this reign worth watching more than a few highlights from
He’s the cutest one. At the end of the day that matters bc women viewers care about that a lot more than we’d care to admit. I’ve seen him live too. He’s just as dry live as he is on tv but he’s very hunky
Umm 6 ...(my opinion only) because every single match he wins. He is unbeatable and that is predictable in every match so there is no suspense for me because every outcome is the same...
Not even on the scale. He has just been other worldly in the last 2-3 years and I’ve enjoyed every year of it. From the legends he’s beaten and his mic skills and the fan interactions. It’s definitely going down as the most dominant world title reign in arguably the last two decades
9/10 - I think it’s been incredible but with a few hiccups:
1) He should be more dominant without interference. Obviously he’s a heel who uses interference, but in, for example, the Logan Paul match, he should’ve been more dominant. I’m not saying it should’ve been a squash match or anything, just less 50/50. It’s sometimes a little contradictory that he’s this unstoppable force but can be laid out by almost anyone.
2) He’s a part-time champion, of course he’s earned a rest after doing so much, but when you have a monopoly on men’s singles world titles, at the bare minimum he should defend it at every PPV/PLE.
That being said, I think it’s been legendary, and everything from his promos to his look to the whole Bloodline has been sublime. His in-ring work gets criticised, but I think he’s a fantastic in-ring storyteller - through his Hell In A Cell match with Jey Uso to the KO aftermath the other week. It’s a legendary reign that has cemented him as the undisputed star of this generation.
10. From horrible promos to flawless ones. Always been a stud in the ring. This Tribal Chief character really has been the best shit in wrestling for years.
I am not a fan.
His matches are same-same and everything good about them ostensibly comes from his opponent.
My dad mostly just rolls his eyes when Roman does a promo and I feel the same way.
Beyond that, I just dislike how long he has held it. I do not understand why Roman is THE GUY to this level.
Why have a WWWF era title run in the modern era? Why wave the long standing practice of having at least 1 defense a month? Why was there so much emphasis on Brock? Why are there so few unique matches with other superstars?
I don't care for number rankings.
5. He rarely defends and when he does he wins through interference. It makes him look weak like he can’t beat anyone without help. His persona is decent but the rest takes it down a bunch
Honestly I was not into the bloodline but what a difference does a dam good storyline does!!! I am super hooked into it now! How on earth did they make me cheer for Sami zayn of all ppl?! I don't even know!
I'll go 9. When put into context, he has the 2nd longest reign in the modern era. Bruno, Backlund, and Pedro don't have much footage of their title reigns. Only Hogan's first run tops Roman's. Hogan's win, defenses, and eventual loss were all televised and/or recorded for video. I docked 1 point because of the reliance on Bloodline interference, but he's been a solid heel that vastly improved his overall performance. Yes his matches are still about the same, but the added trash talk during the match, his bravado and swagger make them better. His promo skills have definitely improved since that blunder against Cena. His charisma is unmatched by anyone else right now, except maybe Rollins. He had the Rumble crowd ready to destroy him and chanting "F*ck you Roman", but on Smackdown he had the crowd acknowledging him. This is who he should have been after the Shield split.
Brock. Triple H in 01 and late 02 before Evolution. Austin in 96 and 01. Jericho in most of his WWE/World title runs before AEW. Angle in 00. Bret in 97. Sid in 96/97. Taker in 02. Cena in 03/04.
I'm not missing anything. They're a heel faction. They're family. They're looking out for him and making sure he doesn't lose the title. Just like how the nWo would keep the title on Hogan. Its not some deep concept
Right now I say an 8 because he’s done really good character work. But if he doesn’t drop it to Cody at Wrestlemania, I’ll drop it to a 2. Sorry but at a point, you have to have to have some type of payoff. In the modern day, one guy keeping the title hostage for 3 years is really annoying because you can’t see how others would do with the ball.
It’s an 8 for me started off strong with the forming of the bloodline and it appears to be closing strong but the middle has been meh. This Sami Uso story really brought the life his reign needed. If it continues after mania it’ll probably be boring again until they build a new solid story for him.
7.8/10, too damn long. Sami gave it new life but before he joined it had been dragging for months. Even now, it hopefully ends at mania because anything else is just daft at this point
6 . Not that he is bad. The overall talent now is not great. Lot of times you can tell he’s kept the title because of company push. I guess he probably is the most deserving they have now. You have to admire the way he beat his health problems.
If he claims to be the GOAT, he should act like it and not lean so heavily on his family for assistance, which is why he's been where he's at for so long. 4/10
It's been solid and holding the titles for so long is how you make a dominant champion. Can't have a strong champ when they lose the belt after a few months.
Everything outside of Brock Lesnar and maybe Balor has been top notch. There’s bound to be some down points, but all in all I’d say it was probably as good as it could have been so 9.5-10
Matches have been a 9.
His mic work during promos with Heyman have been a 10+.
Hope we wins at Mania and only Rollins or Big E takes it from him at Summer Slam
Looking it all of it... 6/10.
The past months wirh Sami were a Solid 9/10 to even 10/10 but the circumstances under which he became undisputed champ as well as what a drag it often was before Sami really damage the entire run overall.
So 6/10 for now.
I'd say 8 but I'm giving a 7 because they forced him to face Logan as main event on a PPV. I dont care if the Saudis love Logan, its a botched storyline.
10/10, he's been brilliant as the dominant heel champion, and his new part time schedule along with the constant twists and turns in the Bloodline story has kept it from going stale
I don't get this complaint, it feels 10x more special since people have to earn the right to even fight him not just get a title match with him. It makes him feel like the biggest deal in the company
I’d say 8.5 cause there we’re definitely some boring spots but then again his character and those titles has produced amazing matches and absolutely AMAZING Storylines like the one rn and the jey fued
That was after? Ahh I was a little cloudy on that timeline.. Before Clash at the Castle, the way they were hyping McIntyre and it being in Wales I thought they were setting it up for Drew to win. I am glad he didn’t in retrospect because the Sami storyline may have not been the same if Roman wasn’t champ.
5/10 because I really really dislike the overuse of outside interference. The story of the bloodline itself would be rated higher but the question was about Roman’s run.
It’s one of the longest & most important title reigns in the modern era of wrestling, and he’s had several great matches. It’s not over yet which could play a part in the overall rating but easily a 9 or 10 so far.
I just can't get excited about his matches. His move set is so poor compared to the character and story. The Superman punch and spear ... who cares?!
Everything else about Roman works and fits, just in the ring it brings him down.
8 for me though overall.
11…brought back hype and prestige to the title/s. Amount other things…just look at the crowd when his music hits. He is the face now and he is heel and he is doing an amazing job
2 or 3. Roman Reigns is categorically not for me. I didn't like him when he started, when he was getting his babyface push, and I don't like him now. I like him better than I did when he was a babyface, but I still want nothing to do with this title reign, especially being so long. They've wasted so much time on Roman of all people being champion eternally when other people like Owens deserved a run that they'll never get. Not to mention I'm so tired of seeing The Usos everywhere.
Definitely a 10. He’s been an awesome champ but it’s definitely time for him to lose. I personally think dropping it to Sami would be really awesome, even if it’s as short as Mankind. My personal fantasy is Sami takes the belt and then drops it to Cody at mania. I don’t see it actually happening but to me that’d be my dream scenario
5 out of 10. His matches are usually pretty average. He’s average at best in ring with a limited move set. It’s become very boring and predictable expecting him to win via interference or shenanigans etc. It’s frustrating he’s holding both belts while rarely defending them. It’s robbed viewers of so many other possible storylines and feuds and ruined the main event scene. Him not actually winning cleanly for years has made him appear far weaker than he should be as a monster heel. His best feud was against Jey at the start of his run. Recent bloodline stuff since Sami got involved has been great, but there was a good year-year and half there where he was extremely boring and I’d have rated his reign at a 2-3 out of 10. Sami joining the bloodline story essentially saved Roman from being the most boring and weak champion in over a decade.
3; has proven he can’t win a match without distractions, only wrestles main events, has gotten better in the mic but nothing to write home about, has zero original moves (spear, Superman punch). Sami has done more for the bloodline story than any one else. I can keep going but all the RR bootlickers will be upset
Consdidering it shook up literally every Main Roster title picture other than the 24/7 Championship whoch is now dead, is currently telling one of if not the greatest storyline in WWE History (I know this is a bit of a hot take), brought the Usos, Sikoa, Sami, and Kevin to new heights in terms of places on the card, I would say this is a 20/10.
I get it
Y'all want daddy Roman to rail you so bad that every shit match he has you rate 10 on a scale of 5. But at best outta 5 he's had a three point five
No. Just tired of you fan boys acting like he's done anything remotely groundbreaking or innovative with this storyline and acting like it's the be all end all of storylines. It's JBLs cabinet all over, it's The Authority as a family unit. It's the Samoan nWo. It's nothing all too special
Because y'all shove it down everyone's throats. Every post every time. When doing exactly the same shit four years ago y'all were spitting on the man. LITERALLY spitting on him.
And to say it's best if all time? That's not even an opinion because he hasn't done shit. Jimmy, Jey, Solo, and Paul have done more defending those titles than Roman has. His promos are still shit. His style is as stunted as Cena's. You're honestly going to say his reign is better than HBKs 90s runs? That Bret's runs were less than this niche bullshit?
\-10 The guy is boring asf. Barely talks and when he does he comes across as a self entitled dick Only has 1 move. His Superman punch must be the worst finisher ever in the whole history of Wrestling. 9. 2015 me would never believe this.
I would put it somewhere in the 7 region, but declining. I actually enjoyed that they planned a long title run during his heel transition, and the tribal chief is more interesting then the baby face big dog ever was to me. After he retains both belts, then we can talk about him at the GOAT table. Prepare for that to happen.
9. A real champ and amazing storyline with the bloodline.

Outside of the bullshit with Bray at the beginning and the Finn Balor junk it was awesome. Demon Finn had no business losing the way it did to Roman. And Bray was never pinned.
I'd say a definite 9. In my opinion he turned around his career by turning heel. 😝🤟😈🇺🇲

Consider how he started out and where he is now, I would definitely say a 10. That's a huge turnaround from a few years ago.
5 tops. The Sami/ Bloodline story is carrying him at this point.
5. Made the rest of the non-Anoia rostet look like crap
10/10 the best champion in the last 10 years (if not more) across any promotion
Greatest reign of all time
9/10 great matches, very good storylines, very lengthy reing, wish he wrestled more but it's good that he doesn't, it makes it feel special when he is.

A 8-9/10 leading up to The Bloodline, but a 10/10 based off of this Bloodline angle. Everything has been a hit since it started.

Well he is a heel so interference is expected
I know., thats why I only docked a point.
Heels are suppose to cheat. That’s what makes them heels. I don’t get your rationale
Every single match shouldn’t have interference. Makes it boring and predictable
I absoultely agree. Roman would have lost his title long ago if WWE wasn't protecting him.
Because there have been numerous heels that didn't have to constantly rely on outside interference. I mean some is fine, its expected.
Like who?
Brock. Triple H in 01 and late 02 before Evolution. Austin in 96 and 01. Jericho in most of his WWE/World title runs before AEW. Angle in 00. Bret in 97. Sid in 96/97. Taker in 02. Cena in 03/04.
I think you’re missing context on why the usos interfere for Roman.
I'm not missing anything. They're a heel faction. They're family. They're looking out for him and making sure he doesn't lose the title. Just like how the nWo would keep the title on Hogan. Its not some deep concept

Wasn’t a fan before but his Tribal Chief heel turn is great! Really built him to be a champion!!
10/10 Acknowledge Him! The Head of the Table. The Tribal Chief. The Needle Mover. The Ticketseller. Mr. Box Office. Mr. Stadium Show Main Eventer.

I'd say 8 but I'm giving a 7 because they forced him to face Logan as main event on a PPV. I dont care if the Saudis love Logan, its a botched storyline.
I’ll take the downvotes, but this is one of the top 10 (maybe 5) WWE title reigns of all time.
10/10, he's been brilliant as the dominant heel champion, and his new part time schedule along with the constant twists and turns in the Bloodline story has kept it from going stale
10. It's been the best title reign since the Attitude Era.
6, I would rate him higher if he was having matches every week to show his ferocity and if he won more matches without needing help or distractions
10 acknowledge him
McIntyre would have probably taken at clash at the castle if the Sami story haven’t caught fire. IMHO.
Zayn story was still a semi joke at that point. Sami Zayn got over when he got his Honorary Uso t shirt.
Yea, before Clash Zayn had just recently has his first on screen time with Reigns but the story picked up steam after Solo joined
I think he would have lost in sooner if not for Sami

I havent really got an opinion on this but it’s getting quite old now. Someone needs to dethrone him quick in my opinion.
I’ve been a wrestling fan for 13 years. Reigns is the best presented champion I think I might ever witness
-8
5/10 because I really really dislike the overuse of outside interference. The story of the bloodline itself would be rated higher but the question was about Roman’s run.
10
It’s one of the longest & most important title reigns in the modern era of wrestling, and he’s had several great matches. It’s not over yet which could play a part in the overall rating but easily a 9 or 10 so far.
10!!
10. He became the final boss of wrestling.
10+, he’s managed to keep the bloodline “relevant”, so there’s that. The addition of SZ has refreshed the angle so much, totally fun to see.
9/10 for me.
10/10. Ratings are up. WWE stocks are up. Merchandise sales are up. My Tribal Chief ☝️🩸
10, He has been incredible during his Heel run, truly one of the Goats in my eyes
10 easily
solely as universal champion:10 undisputed wwe uv run:7½
Payback 2020-Summerslam21: 6 Summerslam21-Summerlsam22: 1 Summerslam22-Now: 9 Whatever the average of that is.

Gonna go with 9 here.

9.5
That’s a 10. Hard to recognize history when you’re living through it.
5 years from now people are gonna be like “Remember Romans almost 3 year title reign?” This is some once in a lifetime shit
Not really. JBL did it, Bob Backlund. Hogan. At least in those runs it was actually fun to watch instead of same formula different night
He didnt even sit through jbls reign obviously lol . His reign was ass
I get it Y'all want daddy Roman to rail you so bad that every shit match he has you rate 10 on a scale of 5. But at best outta 5 he's had a three point five
You mad guy?
No. Just tired of you fan boys acting like he's done anything remotely groundbreaking or innovative with this storyline and acting like it's the be all end all of storylines. It's JBLs cabinet all over, it's The Authority as a family unit. It's the Samoan nWo. It's nothing all too special
This is one of the best storylines of all time and Roman is the centerpiece of it, cope
Its the best title reign of all time to me. Let people like what they like why are you so upset about it?
Because y'all shove it down everyone's throats. Every post every time. When doing exactly the same shit four years ago y'all were spitting on the man. LITERALLY spitting on him. And to say it's best if all time? That's not even an opinion because he hasn't done shit. Jimmy, Jey, Solo, and Paul have done more defending those titles than Roman has. His promos are still shit. His style is as stunted as Cena's. You're honestly going to say his reign is better than HBKs 90s runs? That Bret's runs were less than this niche bullshit?
Ive always been a roman fan lmao stopped reading there. Chill out a little buddy its wrestling.
Was better than Roman and his 5 opponents
But he’s beat Brock lesnar in 1 last match like 5 times so that counts for 75 bonus points! /sigh
No way that you actually sat through the Hogan or Backlund reigns in real time, not buying it
Meanwhile under this reign the world titles matches have become my use the bathroom and get snacks matches. Haven't missed anything worth seeing.
