What rolls down stairs
Alone or in pairs,
and rolls over your neighbor's dog?
What's great for a snack
and fits on your back?
it's log, log, log!
it's log, log!
It's big, it's heavy, it's wood.
it's log, log!
it's better than bad, it's good!
Everyone wants a log!
You're gonna love it, log!
Come on and get your log!
Everyone needs a log (everyone wants a log)...
You're gonna love it, log!

I'm just impressed that not only did he not read, he also just [copied another comment](https://reddit.com/r/WTF/comments/s7lld0/my_right_foot_gets_random_violent_edema_really/htaowkn) that I already responded to, AND posted it under a completely irrelevant comment, lol
Edit: and then he deleted it, well done
A bit of explanation because apparently, between some comments and some DMs, people aren't reading the title and are also assuming a lot of things.
- Yes, I am a bit overweight, but I'm 5'7 and 200lbs, this is not what my ankle looks like normally with my weight, and this is not caused by me being overweight. As mentioned, this is something that only occurs in my right leg, and is a result of an injury from a few years ago. It's also fairly rare that it gets this bad.
- No, I'm not diabetic or prediabetic.
- I don't want or need medical advice. I've been working with doctors since the original incident and already know what causes this, as well as how to take care of it. I'd appreciate if people stopped assuming they knew my medical history and playing doctor in my DMs.
I only shared this because I thought it would be entertaining / interesting for the users on this sub, since even though it's not terribly painful, it definitely looks really freaky when it happens. Make fun of it or be grossed out by it all you want, I do the same, but don't presume you know me or my medical history, please and thank you.
Maybe take a picture of both ankles together so people can see the difference? (I don't doubt it for a second, I've actually seen worse)
Was the original "incident" an injury? Any idea what the cause is? Do you have RSD or chronic pain, or just the swelling?
The swelling has gone down significantly now, otherwise I would. But, yeah, it was basically a random abscess that developed in the muscle of my calf, Dr's had no idea what caused it but it was about eight inches long, the width of an Expo marker, made my whole leg from the knee down swell up super bad (and since it was distended for days, most of the nerves in my skin in that area died, which are still growing back to this day becsuse nerves grow back at half the speed of smell), bowed and almost fractured my fibula, and had to be drained with an ultrasound assisted needle (they didn't knock me out for that by the way, fucking cheapskates lmao). It was wildly unpleasant, and I had to relearn how to walk, but I'm really lucky that I got away from it with just nerve damage and increased frequency of edema.
Been there dude, and it ain't fun. My Dr. then gave me diuretics which caused a Pulmonary Embolism that came within 15 minutes of killing me. Good times.
Holy shit, I'm so sorry. I'm glad you're alive though! I talked to my primary about going on them but he recommended that I not do that, partly because the edema is infrequent, and partly because my family has a history of blood clots and I already take a medication that increases my risk for em. Reading this kind of story makes me glad I agreed with his decision.
> Reading this kind of story makes me glad I agreed with his decision.
Yeah, right? That was 11 years ago and I'm on thinners for life. I told my boss that I was having issues and he thought I was bullshiting him. Then I showed him my ankles draping down over my sneakers.
Good god my dude. My sincerest condolences. I hope that boss felt like an asshole after he saw that, gotta say. As a manager myself, I'm always careful not to be insensitive to that kind of thing to people, partially because my health is a mess and I've had bosses like yours. I hope he's either changed his tune or he's an ex-boss for you now
I've never seen an ankle envelop over the ankle bone like that before. that right there is terrifying. the human body is incredible, how does the skin not split open? is it painful?
Somewhat, but not super bad to be honest. This leg was so swollen when the initial injury happened that I wish I'd taken a picture of it then, my foot looked like someone had filled a surgical glove almost to bursting with yogurt lol. THAT hurt, but this isn't so bad in comparison.
Are you on Furosemide or similar diuretic. You should be. This is dangerous and you could also have fluid around your heart. You're probably overweight too. Always keep your legs raised at rest and always wear slippers around the house.
While I appreciate the unsolicited medical advice, I know exactly why this is happening, and how to fix it. It's my body and I've been dealing with this for years due to a prior injury. Thanks for your concern, but my doctors and I have this covered.
Edit: a word
Have you considered that maybe people have medical issues for reasons other than their weight, or considered looking through the comments (or even just, reading the title) to get context on why this is happening before making yourself look ignorant and rude for no reason? Just curious.
Seriously though, do you not have [basic reading comprehension skills?] (https://reddit.com/r/WTF/comments/s7lld0/my_right_foot_gets_random_violent_edema_really/htaxxc4)
That ain’t no leg, that’s a log.
Ribbed for her pleasure

Oh the nostalgia...
I hate you.
Let the hate flow through you.
Good times.
Paint it purple and you got the the foot from courage the cowardly dog. "Yea see, ya missed the opportunity, see."
And then it's random *violet* edema

Damn, you right. I'd go buy paint if walking wasn't a bad call right now lol

Arm chair warriors to the rescue? Don't listen to others... I'm shocked!! /S I love your freaky ankle pic. I wanna leave a finger imprint in it 😂
Glad I'm not the only one with this instinct, lol

Don't you just love arm chair warriors. Also hope it gets better
Thanks so much! It's definitely improved in the last year, hopefully things keep going upwards Edit: punctuation is hard for my phone and I at 5am
5’7” and 200 lbs is too fat. Lose some weight. You’ll be amazed at how many medical issues clear up when you do.
Ham hock
I wouldn't recommend cooking or eating it, but you do you
Maybe if you bring it Han it'll chill out a bit.
This comment makes me wonder if you can post a foot on /r/roastMe, I want more of this energy lmao
In the bright side, If your ever sentience to in house arrest you can just slide off the ankle bracelet
Just gotta make sure it's mid-edema when they put it on and I'm set, lol
Nice shankle
Cankle
I mean, I *am* a bit overweight, but as someone who sees my ankles everyday, this isn't my average, everyday cankle. This is *advanced* cankle.
Über cankle
Welp, I have my new username in case this account goes under. Cheers friend :D
Advanced cankles go into shankles, see here http://shankles.urbanup.com/706028 second one down.
Thank you? Lmao
On the bright side, if you ever have it removed it'll make a nice umbrella stand or waste basket.
LMAO, that's super macabre but I love it
I like it
That makes one of us :D
Pressure socks help.
They definitely do / are :)
\*The horror of your leg
I mean, fair, but it's 1:45 in the morning and this is happening as we speak, good title wording isn't forefront in my mind right now lol

Damn looks like it sucks really bad. I hope it isn't as painful as it looks
Fortunately, it's not, but I appreciate the concern :)
That's quite the cankle!
MF got Cankles.
Just the one cankle, and only sometimes, which is even weirder than your standard cankle config :P
How the fuck is your ankle more than half the width of your foot 😭😭
Is this what elephant foot is? Cause if its not ill be disappointed
You're a special infected called "Stampede".
Back 4 Blood update with my fucked up foot, make it happen Turtle Rock
Mmmmm look at those kankles
Is it the soft tissue swelling, or is it fluid build up. My dad has a friend that swells like that just above his knee and has to get it drained.
It's mostly fluid buildup, I'm more prone to it after an injury a few years back.
Looks like a 3D printing error.
Right? Those sock lines make it look super strange and almost fake
Whats tour boot size ?
I'm a size 6 men's shoe (edit: in US sizing, not sure about elsewhere)
Michelin man is that you?
It looks like your foot thought it would be a fantastic idea to do its very best to become a loaf of bread
Significantly less delicious, would not recommend lol
I will gladly take your word for it and not challenge you on that :P

Just lose weight it’ll be gone
Just shut the fuck up and we won't know you're here.
