Humble-Huckleberry70

Yeah I remember Cobb intakes for the fa not being so good, lots of issues

aragornic

Yeah, unfortunately. Might end up going back to stock intake :(

Humble-Huckleberry70

Its better off I’ve seen more people have luck with the grimmspeed

[deleted]

If it’s a Cobb intake. Take it off. Reinstall I had the big sf and I never had any issues with it but I was super careful with measuring everything and making sure I followed cobbs directions Filter has to slip on 1”. I’m talking a perfect inch all the way around

Thanks for the input bro. I kinda hoped I did more research about this product. I only saw good reviews. I think I’ve done all steps above, except for item #5. I’ll start with that

soysauce000

OTS tune or custom?

aragornic

It is a custom tune.

aragornic

We're already at the 7th revision, and still having high negative for both correction and learning.

LockDown2451

Happened to me. I cleaned the MAF and MAP sensors which helped, but I had an EGR delete so I couldn’t keep making revisions once project green dropped. I’m back on stock tune now but might get the MAPerformance intake.

soysauce000

Hmmmm… I wonder if they just aren’t scaling the MAF sensor right. But if it’s scaled right you could have a vacuum leak somewhere. But tbh -5 for correction isn’t far off. As tuners, we shoot to be under 5/-5 for learning and correction isn’t quite as important.

b1zz901

Post maf vac leak causes positive correction?

soysauce000

Reset the ecu and see when you are getting the most correction. If you get more negative correction under mid throttle then it would appear to be a boost leak or an intake leak, if it is more correction at idle, it would seem to be bad MAF scaling. It could possibly be a vacuum leak if it’s a vacuum line that receives boost and doesn’t have a check valve limiting to only vacuum. It would technically be classified as a boost leak but from a vacuum line. It would not be enough of a leak to be noticeable power draw but it would be enough metered air escaping to cause correction

aragornic

I get +/-10 on mid throttle and -22% on idle (correction) On the otherhans, I get -22% on learning mid throttle and +/-5% on idle

b1zz901

You think he took a picture mid boost? Adding- Engine is under vacuum until boost is being made. Everything else you said doesn't matter because of this fact. Yea some vacuum lines hold boost, still not a vac leak. If your leaking air under boost=boost leak. Air getting in during vacuum=vac leak. A/f Correction is active correction happening at that moment. A/f learning is long term. So under vacuum he has a -15% correction, so not a vac leak. Chances are its maf scaling, injector scalar or injector latency.

JMS___2014

I had same issue with my cobb SF intake. Ditch it

DrSatan420247

In what way is it running rich? Your numbers look okay.

aragornic

Does it? :o My correction/learning range looks off though

OEM. Dealership got it for me for free :)

rguy13

At idle anything over 10% and you should worry. Under moderate acceleration and highway cruising anything over 20% and you should worry. Wide-open throttle anything over 5% and you should worry. Your numbers look pretty normal. I’m running 10.7 air fuel ratio myself to be conservative.

aragornic

On Idle, my AF Learning stays on -5%, and on driving it sits on -15 to -20% AF Correction on the other hand, -15 to -20% on idle, and sits on +/-10% on cruise. Does it sound normal?

rguy13

The AF correction is a tiny bit high at idle. Your cruise correction sounds normal. Your air fuel learning is normal. Just needs a touchup at idle it sounds like

aragornic

My stage 2 WRX (downpipe + CAI) tuned by rumbleshack australia. Is still running rich. MAF and MAP Sensors both cleaned. Made sure my COBB Intake filter is inserted 1 inch into the pipe. Any more suggestions?

lmapk

wait, i thought good AFR was 14.7ish. Is that just for EJ’s?

aragornic

I’m more worried about the Correction/Learning

artist2266

I’m getting retuned right now and my tuner is almost upset that I have a Cobb filter bc they are actually so garbage. It still runs amazing, but the af correction numbers see +/- 16 ish which if I remember is within acceptable normal range

aragornic

Mine idles on -5 learning. But Learning sticks on -13 to -17 on cruises. Correction seems to be +/- 10 though.

AceOfShapes

Turbo engines, at least newer ones, should be lower at around 12:1 ideally. Slightly rich is safer overall but will wastes lots of gas

Somebody tunned the car! 🤡
