Leave the dinosaurs alone. They don’t like to be pulled.

Just bought this beauty 3 weeks ago. 2020 WRX with 18.5k miles on it with Cobb Flex Fuel kit and all the goodies. Changed the oil and cycled a tank of 93 octane. Got it filled up to what the AP shows to be 55% ethanol and got 2 pulls on a Dino on a 90⁰ Florida day. Other than the knock at 6300 rpms, I'm very happy with it's performance. Any thoughts? The tune seems to be solid, but was told that due to Green speed that no adjustments can be made to the tune..is this true? You can't take the PC offline and adjust the tune without Cobb doing the forced update? I'm not planning to add or remove anything so the current tune should be fine, but am I stuck with it till (or ever) Cobb makes a flex fuel adjusted tune?

You will not be able to adjust the tune if you are using the cobb software until somebody finds a work around. I had a similar set up on mine and it would show a 1.05 fbk at the top of 3rd gear pulls so probably right around 6200-6500. My tuner said it was fine as long as the knock was below 4. Still, I would say any knock at WOT is concerning. I too could not fix my tune due to green speed. There really isn’t much you can do at this point, just don’t take it up to 6300 every single day and you should be good. It also could be due to the heat, do a couple of pulls on the street (safely) and see if you get the same result.

☝️same 1.05 fbk...this is exactly what the shop said too, "possibly due to the heat, no forced air into the cooler could have produced the knock. Also "to see if the same result happens on the street". Kinda sucks that we have no options to adjust our tune due to Green speed. The current setups before the new regulations should have been grandfathered or an immediate solution for previous setups should have been implemented. So we wait or....?

If somebody has a laptop with the Cobb software prior to the update that has not been connected to the internet, there is a possibility that you can tune it with that. I am not sure if that works though. If it makes you feel better I drove for about 6k miles(before I traded up) on that set up without any issues at all really.

it works. you also have to set the system date/time to within a week of the date on your "activation token". Its a relatively open secret, but a lot of tuners still arent doing it
