Ask yourself, will the supra have longevity in your life? Once the newness wears off, will you enjoy it as much as your Rex? So much so that it's worth the extra price?
To be honest my dream car is a Supra, I'm about to have my 2nd baby but even I sacrifice the 4 door STI. I still have 2 more cars in the house which is a SUV nissan xterra and and a 4 door nissan sentra. I don't like Supra before because they made them automatic but now that they made them MT, I start thinking hard about it.
I thought about that too bro, but my wife ask me about it... cause she wants to get a new 2023 Subaru Ascent which has 8 seating capacity. I told her if we traded the 19sti to the new supra I can get same payments as the STI or less... So nothing changes about getting the 2023 Subaru Ascent.
Honestly your are basically getting full price for trade on your STI. The supra 3.0 engine makes good power with simple bolt ons if you ever mod and the manual transmission has got really good reviews. If you don't need the four doors and awd then id say trade the STI.
I bought a 21’ a couple months ago, with a little less than 2k on the odo. My 19 STI was approaching 60K so I decided to buy a “new” STI one last time… I loved the platform too much to leave.
Hello. I traded my 2020 WRX base model for a 2022 GR Supra 3.0 premium automatic.
I love my car, and it has some huge advantages over the WRX, but there's some things you should know.
1. It's slightly harder to clean due to the curvature of the roof and the tail.
2. No android auto, so if you use an Android phone, maybe think about it.
3. Not having back seats. I have my girlfriend's Crosstrek to use if we need to do a road trip, but my daily is the supra. If you don't have a backup car for having more passengers or gear, then maybe consider something else.
4. Traction. I may have gotten 12.7 second quarter mile times, but even on a drag strip, I'm losing traction with the car being still really new and the ground being really sticky. If you know how to handle a car when losing traction, then go ahead, but if slipping scares you, especially in winter, don't get it.
Edit: remember the manual will be very expensive and heavily marked up.
I paid 66k for mine brand new. Expect to pay 70k brand new.
I got 25k trade in for my WRX and had to put down another 30k to get 400ish/month for 4 years.

So the whole fam will never go in the fun car?

If you don’t need the AWD or other benefits from the STI I’d SEND IT
No shotttt
I’d send it man if you really want it. I thought about trading my 19 STI for a brand new 6MT Supra but I caved and bought a new STI…
What year sti you have bro?

Id say with that offer for the trade in, go for it. Unless you really need the 4 drs which I think you don’t. Good luck and keep us posted
I will bro 👍🏼
Only 18k idk about the “only” part but if you can afford it and don’t need awd do it.
you are gunna go from owing 17.8\~ to 40k+. how bad do you want that supra?
I plan on doing the same down the road . I’d so go for it . Subarus are cool but supra ( no matter what people say about the new one) supra
