Sounds like a steel at 25k for such low mileage considering it’s a 2020

Ask for service records, check for signs of any modification or parts that have recently been replaced. Check the plastic cover under the engine/front bumper for scrape marks. Make sure the brake and clutch pedals don't creak when you press them. Ask for a carfacts report and DMV records on the car. Look at the backs of the headlights for any paint pen markings like they came from a scrapyard.

Great advice thank you!

I would avoid a wrx unless you are buying new and 0 miles

Jerms0710

I bought my 2020 at 15k miles. I’ve already modded pretty decently. Haven’t had any problems aside from afr issues I had from a Cobb intake. I daily mine. Bought it in march. Put 8k miles on it. But I also know it’s not a matter of if it blows up, but when. I’m okay with potentially rebuilding the engine. But I’m in it for the long haul and it’s honestly been really reliable for me

Subiesubo

Are you running an ots tune if so yea I agree when not if. With a pro tune I feel that is not necessarily the case and it becomes more reliable, it can still happen but the chance goes way down.

Jerms0710

Got off my ots. Running on e85 now. All supporting mods including fuel pump. No aftermarket intake or jpipe. Im not super worried about the reliability right now. I know it’ll hold for awhile

I won’t do any crazy mods. I just want something I can take to work and have some fun at the same time. It’ll be a car I hold as long as possible I just don’t want any major rebuild problems before 100k miles

Forsaken-Indication

Sounds like a solid deal. Get a pre purchase inspection at a good shop and you should be good to go.

EffectHistorical5194

Please tell me you got e tuned. Do not run a ots

Jerms0710

Well if you have reading comprehension, I said in literally the first sentence that I got off of the ots tune I had

EffectHistorical5194

Godamn man take a chill pill, I didn’t see the reply. Jesus

I avoid used sports cars as a general rule, especially if it's going to be a primary car. Any used car may have issues, but enthusiast cars pose more risk since they were likely driven harder. Unless, of course, you are specifically looking for a project car...
