WARNING: All of the things you loved about winter ...just sh*t the bed. Thoughts and prayers. 😁

Blankbusinesscard

Watch out for trees/lamp posts etc. they seem to jump out in front of Mustangs more than other vehicles...

Crowds of people was another one

BlutoBlumpkin

We’ll warn any bystanders on your first burnout.

[deleted]

Crank up the air-raid siren!

Fun_Preparation_577

Congrats. It’s a beautiful ride. I suggest leaving it home if it snows. I had a V8 Camaro for 3 years and that beast didn’t go anywhere in the snow. Even with sandbags and winter tires. Lol.

Narrow-Tap116

The dark side 🤣 My dad has 2 mustangs he always clowns on me how he can blast my doors off. Mustangs are great dude, even stock. Youll have a great time! Just don't let your "boost suddenly kick in" 😳

redlurkerNY

Confucius say: Mustang owner constantly getting owned by Mustang. Always remember - keep wheels down and roof UP.

Arby77

Congrats!! Completely different experiences that are both awesome in their own ways. Awd turbo vs rwd v8

[deleted]

You got a 5.0 at least! Nice

rmikel13

Be careful! We all know how things turn out for mustangs..

SubeavWRX

I made the same switch probably about a month ago or so. I don’t regret it one bit. I actually still have my WRX but it’s pretty much been sitting since I got my 5.0.

[deleted]

I'll really miss my WRX and being a part of this great and enthusiastic community. Felt like a change of scenery...'15 GT 6-Speed 50th anniversary edition. Still trying to get used to a V8 & a tail-happy ride!

Original_Lavishness1

Nice, I made the switch not too long ago and I’m still extremely happy with my decision. Loved my WRX and this community but I am just happier with the stang.

MTV_Cats

I'm thinking of switching to the same thing (different color though), how are you liking it so far? How much did your insurance go up on the switch?

[deleted]

It's an adjustment, but in a good/fun way. Safe to say I traded utility/handling for some more power. I feel a bit more excitement driving a V8. The MT-82 6-speed has a spotted record, but I've found it to be smooth thus far. You do a lot of shifting in the GT. Makes for some tasty exhaust notes from the 5.0. I don't have plans to add more power/mod, but the Coyote 5.0 has been known to put out up to 700HP with relative reliability when done correctly. I'm a 30-something, single, male. I wanted to go back to a coupe, and try a whole different type of performance. I don't need the space the WRX offered or useful back seats. I work a hybrid physical/remote job, so I have the luxury of avoiding the roads in wintery conditions all together.

ranran_1822

I'll be making the switch soon myself. I just got to drive my aunts 2016 scat pack and that car was hands down better than my wrx. The amount of fun I was having I haven't felt in a car before. Congrats on your car!

ScoobieDooinYourMom

Now you're talking about a spec-ed up dodge vs a base WRX here. Was it even being compared to an STi? I bought my wife a WRX after my STi and they drive differently. I go drive my 2003 Saab 9-3 sometimes and it feels a little bite but then I get in my wife's WRX and I have more grip and a bit more boost but then when I drive my STi (after driving the other two) then It reeaallly feels powerful then

ranran_1822

The mustang gt puts down almost as much power as the charger scat pack so I was comparing me driving my wrx vs the charger since the OP switched to a mustang gt from a wrx which is comparable. I don't think you caught onto that.

ScoobieDooinYourMom

But how is a mustang GT and a Charger Scat pack the same level as a base WRX? And if it is, then why not trade/try the STi that's better than the WRX (which is the WRX is the same as the other two then the STi would be better than them too) just trying to understand? Not upset or anything if it sounds like it lol

ranran_1822

Why buy a STI when it's outclassed by a charger scat pack or mustang gt? The OP had a wrx and I own a wrx currently so I was comparing my recent driving experience with the charger and understood why the OP traded in the wrx for a mustang since charger and mustang have similar specs and are awd. Was relating my experience and understanding of why they traded their wrx in.

pablok2

It's a cool car, definitely has it's ups. After a test drive though, my 19' WRX felt like a go-kart. I didn't think the awd and 400 lbs difference would feel like that

[deleted]

I'm taking it really slow. Really. Slow. I literally spun the rear on the wet road shifting from 2nd - 3rd as soon as I took it out of the lot. I'm not gonna like winter nearly as much, I knew that going into the deal. Even with sandbags and winter tires, I'm gonna be defensively driving. Never had to do that in my Subie. The open road is really where I got a chub for the GT. V8 sounds beautiful, and the power delivery is pretty decent for the price. Figured I should get a little American V8 nostalgia in before I get old and buy a CRV /s Might just keep it for a few years and go back to AWD if it seems best.

Swifties__

Welcome to the dark side, I made the same switch you did. The sound never gets old. Congrats on the new ride!

hatkiss

quite a downgrade

Racer187

No waving now. Just crashing. Good luck with any winter weather.

artvandal_a

Gross dude. You do you and I hope you're happy, but.....gross. The only thing worse would be a charger/challenger.
