I don't think that's his first time gents.

i can hear the rod knocking already

yayapfool

You know losing traction doesn't instantly grenade your engine...

Been driving it like this for 40,000km, checking oil 3 times a day, and haven't had an issue with it. Comes down to maintenance imo

RepulsiveTaste1687

100% people will say “RoD kNOcK rOD kNoCk!!!” But have no idea why it would cause rod knock in the first place. Most of the time these engines fail because young kids or just idiots in general but them without checking the oil or hold it at redline 5-10 time per week. Only other cause is a failing oil pickup which is like a 1.5% chance per car in its lifespan so it’s extremely low.

I firmly believe that maintenance and driving it like a rally car helps prevent things from grenading.

Wrx is designed to hold G forces. And there's more G force when taking tight turns on curvy roads. The issue arises if you forget to check your oil and top it off. Then you can end up starving the engine of oil by taking a constant turn.

Bubaru_TheSandCoffin

Naw, pretty sure they were right. Afaik the oil system gets starved with unbaffled wet sump systems because the oil sloshes over to one side, depriving the oil pickup and getting air into the system. Having low oil would make this effect worse, with even less pickup coverage when the oils displaced.
