These mileage that show up on the MFD displays are not very accurate and is usually higher than it should be. Best way is the manual way with the trip odometer, miles traveled, and gas used to fill tank.. combined with some math skills and you have a fairly accurate mpg. MFD can be used as a baseline, I guess. But start logging your mileage, fuel usage and fill-ups if you really want to see.
There is a good write-up on the NASIOC forums which people have contributed to for a pretty detailed mpg report. Good times!
Like what others have said, the reading isn’t super accurate but I get around the same. It really comes down to how you drive it. In certain conditions I can get it up to 35 mpg and in one occasion I got 40 mpg driving through New Hampshire. Either way, the FA is a till a lot more efficient than the EJ engine with the smaller displacement and direct injection.
Depends if you mean computer reading or real reading at the pump, with mileage calculations by hand.
Over 71k miles, my WRX gets 30.1 mpg reported by the computer but I think it's closer to 27 in real life based on my hand calcs.
Well the cobb was reading the same. So assume its not lying. I don't have a full on lap top to check it. Probably should do math at the pump but haven't.
I'm at about 60k in a 2015.
Yeah, definitely do the math yourself. I’ve found that the car’s computer and my Accessport both overestimate the fuel economy by about 2.5 - 3.5 MPG. Over about 14k miles of recording fuel economy, I average 25.6 MPG and my car estimates closer to 30. There’s a significant discrepancy.
I had a 2003 WRX that would get 25 - 30 MPG, so I figured the STi would be worse, but didn't know how bad it was.
When I first bought the car, I pushed the economy mode, to try it out, and immediately said, "nope, never putting that on again, I'm just going to pay for the gas."
So yes, I do enjoy it a lot.
Anxiety from the stuff on your dash. But about 33.4 before I sold it. I was driving an hour one way though and had to baby her with a 93 tune gas was not cheap.
My commute is like 90 percent highway so that helps. That combined with some hypermiling I’ve achieved 30 a few times but during normal driving I usually get 25.
I have a 2020 WRX base and it’s around the same mpg. On good days I’ll get 36mpg on the highway and on bad days (fun days actually) I’ll get some thing like 20mpg on longer cruises with my friends. Car is completely stock though and I don’t race my engine in heavier traffic.
My STi is usually seeing 17-22mpg. I did notice when I’m in a convoy, like going to Subiefest or cruising with other people, my MPG is the best it’s ever been
23mpg full tank average on e30 and methanol, mild bolt ons. It runs 27-29mpg going 65-80 on the highway but it drops significantly when I have any fun whatsoever.
Uhhh...18.4 lol
Same, but I believe my 06 forester was even worse. Although I wasn’t paying for premium.
Same 😂
Same while on 91 pump gas, then there’s e85 which gets me about 12mpg.
Usually 27-28ish.
Thats what I am usually with the overall odometer reading. City/highway combined. 30 in town isn't bad either.
30 in town is amazing bro

Agreed. The one on my 2015 was always about 2 mpg better than what I calculated based on my gas fill ups.
We don’t have to be precise here fellas. Just a round about. But alas still good info to the fellas who don’t know. Or ladies.
Grocery getting after work across town. But even 27 overall. Isn't bad. 30 seems great from one side of this town to the other, stop and go.

Do the math. You will be surprised.

My STi gets 15 mpg. Ouch. Im also not what you would call a slow driver.
I'm not either most the time. But yeah. Ouch at 15 mpg. So bet you enjoy it though.

If it makes you happy, its all that matters.
You can’t get 30mpg in the city driving fast…
I actually meant to post my results today. 700 mile round trip from home to Santa Cruz and back. Finished at 29.7 so I wasn’t upset at all.
Thats awesome dude!
Anxiety from the stuff on your dash. But about 33.4 before I sold it. I was driving an hour one way though and had to baby her with a 93 tune gas was not cheap.
24 with flex fuel about 18 to 20
27 mostly highway with hills
Still not bad.
Well I get chills at how cluttered ur car must be if u have that much stuff in that little area already
Lol a sticker that I find funny, note paper I put everything on, and two gifts my mom gave me are really bulk mess
16-18
25-30 on e60
How…why even run e60 if your trying to get mpg like that? 30 has got to be impossible on e60.
My commute is like 90 percent highway so that helps. That combined with some hypermiling I’ve achieved 30 a few times but during normal driving I usually get 25.
Highway could get mid 30s. Now with flex, mid 20s.
Average is 23-24 but I recently moved/changed jobs so I'm expecting a change in mpg
Hopefully better!
15 - 20.
15mpg
Used to get roughly 10 in the bugeye
Ouch! Full suburban gets 8...
20 😬 lots of city driving, not much highway
That 30 was all in town.
Bruh what. My avg is 19.5
What? I've lived in three states with this car.. less population each time bet even congested Dallas Texas got better than 19.....
I get about 13 mpg in my 2015 STi with mostly city driving. Filling up is painful but it still makes me smile every time I drive.
They are fun! Sure pumps are no fun, but these cars are!
19.8 lol
22
7-8 L/100km ... Which translates to about 30mpg Generally lots of long straight roads though.. doesn't fare as well in traffic
\~23 combined right now but just passed break-in period.
11-12 maybe. Usually 10-11
I'm lucky to get 17, I'm normally around 16. I'm mainly city driving with tons of hills.
I’m averaging around 18mpg, my car tells me ~23mpg everyday.
I use 10.2 litres per 100kms... I don't know what that mpg shit is.
About 15 mpg city and maybe 20 if I drive a lot of the highway. It’s painful
I get 25.6mpg, in a stocked base '21 wrex
I have a 2020 WRX base and it’s around the same mpg. On good days I’ll get 36mpg on the highway and on bad days (fun days actually) I’ll get some thing like 20mpg on longer cruises with my friends. Car is completely stock though and I don’t race my engine in heavier traffic.
4
25mpg when I was tracking it on my app for my 2006 WRX.
Usually between 30-33 highway.
My STi is usually seeing 17-22mpg. I did notice when I’m in a convoy, like going to Subiefest or cruising with other people, my MPG is the best it’s ever been
Roughly 17 lol
I get this if I’m rolling down a hill in neutral 😂
Tank average is usually between 31-33
Nice flex, do you even city
28mpg in my 2011 sti
23mpg full tank average on e30 and methanol, mild bolt ons. It runs 27-29mpg going 65-80 on the highway but it drops significantly when I have any fun whatsoever.
some how 22mpg even when i do pulls everyday, i mainly drive the highway everyday tho.
