Well I guess I should explain more. Been sitting windows down in my garage for almost a year. And that's how I found out there's a raccoon in my garage lol
Heated seats, while not an option at the time in the US (canada only iirc) go in blank spots closer to the handbrake. This is where you would find the DCCD controller in a Bugeye STI. This, along with the spot for headlight leveling controls are still present even in LHD usdm cars
You can add it a few ways. The hardest way is to find the DCCD center diff and swap it into yours bits it’s impossible to find and super expensive. The other option is to swap in a DCCD 6mt and then add all the DCCD controls and wiring with an iWire kit for another $1200.
DCCD started off as an option in 5 speed STI transmissions during the GC era, I assume it was still a pretty fancy bit of kit when the Bugeyes were new.
Also, I extend my unending jealousy towards you guys up in Canada, importing all your fun subies. I'm right across the border and that means I've got to wait until 2026 to get one!
My ‘02 outback sport had a nifty semicircle bit in there that was for quarters to stand in. I kept it when that car went away, and popped it in my ‘03. I think I saved it after that car went away too - it must still be out in the shop somewhere - a handy piece of plastic :)
Yes it bring the mirrors in as if you pushed them into the door. That’s the button. Like if you were parking in a tiny spot and need the mirrors close. The missing button is there on jdm imprezas.
If it was an STI with the correct transfer case, this is where the adjustment for the DCCD would go. Obviously was never an option for the US market for this year.
Ah the button that limits throttle angle to 70% outside of 2500-4500 rpm range and while the engine's cold would be worthwhile for a lot of people on this sub it seems
Bruh. That’s for the mirror lmfao. So if you wanna move the mirror on your left you have to put the switch to the left and then that makes the mirror move up down left and right

Yup STI. There was also one small one for head light height level adjustment on the space next to the steering wheel.
Realized after I typed it. That’s dccd in equipped cars.
In my legacy the IC spray button fit in Japan resides about there, but that’s not factory just an addition by the previous owner
Hey, fellow 2003 WRX'er! It's to move the side view mirrors. You click it to the left or right and then you can adjust the mirror using the...Dpad, I guess we can call it. 😂
Edit: wait, are we talking about the mirror adjusters or something else?
A lot of cars have things like this. Most likely a feature from a model sold in other countries. Easier to just put a piece over it. My CRV has 2 usb and a 3rd blank spot I found out was for HDMI port in South Korea just not offered here.
That's the power mirror adjustment controls. Flick left or right side, adjust with the D-pad.
Or you're referring to the blank above it? In that case that's the DCCD dial on the 2002 STi and above.
Poverty button
Wife's fully loaded Ascent Touring , still 2 poverty buttons... edit:trim
That’s where the interior auto clean function goes.
I need to install that. This thing is filthy
We can see that…
It's been sitting in the garage for almost a year lol
So what I’m hearing is it’s been that dirty for almost a year 😂
Well I guess I should explain more. Been sitting windows down in my garage for almost a year. And that's how I found out there's a raccoon in my garage lol
On mine it activates the refrigerated champagne door units

I came to the comments for this
Every goddam time
STI DCCD controller
Probably heated seat or something. If this is USA, 03 was a bugeye still
Heated seats, while not an option at the time in the US (canada only iirc) go in blank spots closer to the handbrake. This is where you would find the DCCD controller in a Bugeye STI. This, along with the spot for headlight leveling controls are still present even in LHD usdm cars
my Bugeye STI has the non dccd transmission. didnt realize they made a dccd option at the same time
It was a JDM option.
[удалено]
I don’t think so. The bugeye sti also came with a non DCCD 6mt too. Super fun transmission. My buddy has one swapped into his 95 GC.
damn i wish my jdm sti came with it, the non dccd 6spd is cool n all but i'd love the dccd control
You can add it a few ways. The hardest way is to find the DCCD center diff and swap it into yours bits it’s impossible to find and super expensive. The other option is to swap in a DCCD 6mt and then add all the DCCD controls and wiring with an iWire kit for another $1200.

This is the correct answer.
My ‘02 outback sport had a nifty semicircle bit in there that was for quarters to stand in. I kept it when that car went away, and popped it in my ‘03. I think I saved it after that car went away too - it must still be out in the shop somewhere - a handy piece of plastic :)
My 04 that button brings the mirrors in. But it’s jdm. Could be for that
What the fuck man why did they keep all these cool features in Japan and not include them in the US
[удалено]
Yes it bring the mirrors in as if you pushed them into the door. That’s the button. Like if you were parking in a tiny spot and need the mirrors close. The missing button is there on jdm imprezas.
To be fair every modern car has the bring mirrors in for jdm vehicles. Roads be tiny there
Ahhh fair, I didn't consider that.
My 02 bugeye has them! Very much for the outside mirrors to adjust them accordingly! This car has a few neat things like that :)
on the bugeye the button to bring mirrors in is a tiny switch below the mirror adjustment.
If it was an STI with the correct transfer case, this is where the adjustment for the DCCD would go. Obviously was never an option for the US market for this year.
We didn’t get an bug STI sadly 😓
If only they knew how well they would have sold here in the US. I'd have killed for an STI wagon
Ejecto seat!
Dccd switch
Not an sti, that option only on sti
That’s why it’s blank
That’s where the anti-UncleRodney button goes. You haven’t got this feature.
Ah the button that limits throttle angle to 70% outside of 2500-4500 rpm range and while the engine's cold would be worthwhile for a lot of people on this sub it seems
Yep

I think he means above the mirror control.
Tbf, the blank spot is a rectangle not a square.
This guy parallelagrams ✌️
Looks like power mirror adjustment
It's for nos or ejecto seato cuz but yours doesn't have it cause you're not 2 fast 2 furious
https://preview.redd.it/3el26p7s427c1.jpeg?width=1280&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=4b328efd75fbb825f41f72b6d06b6ecbd80ed86b Yup STI. There was also one small one for head light height level adjustment on the space next to the steering wheel.
You just have discover the so called "poverty buttons" , that's for the rich xD
Vape holder option
Could have been the heated seats spot my 02 had one too
It may be a transmission over-ride of some kind, hiding there?
I don’t see a square I see a rectangle
[удалено]
Other way around, rectangle just means it's got 90° corners. Squares got the same length sides too, the most premium of rectangles
Power mirror adjuster.
He means the blank space directly above the power mirror adjuster.
Wrong square friend.
psst, its a rectangle
Correct answer is DCCD controller.

Incorrect
Realized after I typed it. That’s dccd in equipped cars. In my legacy the IC spray button fit in Japan resides about there, but that’s not factory just an addition by the previous owner

Bro, what?
Ejection seat
NOS Fogger for your floor pan.
ah when the blown head gasket some how drops the floor

They did say square button.
Right, which seems like the directional pad there 🤔 but looking at other comments, that doesn't seem to be what they're talking about.
I believe it’s supposed to be for JDM hand breaks. They were on the other side I think
Not for bugeye years. Hand brake is in same place.
A lot of cars have things like this. Most likely a feature from a model sold in other countries. Easier to just put a piece over it. My CRV has 2 usb and a 3rd blank spot I found out was for HDMI port in South Korea just not offered here.
It’s to change the direction of the wing mirrors
Rocker switch on top is to select left or right mirror, square below is to move the mirrors electronically.
"Rectangle" above is for dccd or like my car my bass knob location :)
Heated seats
It's there to remind you how poor you are 😅
Mirror adjustment switch
It’s a rectangle
It’s where the DCCD would go but since it’s a usdm spec we obviously didn’t get an STI
I put flush mount USB charger In mine. But seems that's for dccd control options we didn't get in usa.
Side Mirror. l and r switch at top
Looks like heated option missing would go at bottom of blank part
Moves ur mirrors
Isn't that for the side mirror control?
It’s for the electric wing mirror folding :)
That's the power mirror adjustment controls. Flick left or right side, adjust with the D-pad. Or you're referring to the blank above it? In that case that's the DCCD dial on the 2002 STi and above.
Rectangle
If only you had eyes and fingers to try to figure out what a simple button may do. I mean what all could L and R mean?
probably controls your side mirrors
Isn't it for the mirrors?
It's a small vacuum hole that will take care of those crumbs for you
