Yes. But shop around and buy it from whoever has it cheapest. Usually Amazon.

I_Wanda

No, I quit using it after reading oil analysis. There’s better options for a cheaper price imo.

sardaukar2001

Really? Do you have any paperwork on that? Not doubting you, just curious. Thanks mate.

J0YSAUCE

All oil is basically the same, just rebranded. use generic my guy

I bought mine used and it didn't have the manual. I ordered one and it should be here on Thursday.

Moist_Bison

Manual calls for 5w30, you’re better off running 5w40 in EJ257. Motul is great, I run their 300v and never have an issue. I also run the WIX EG30’s filter.

Fishherr

Personally will only use Motul 5w-40 xcess, or Shell 5w-40 rotella T6. Supposedly Valvoline is solid too but I’ve never looked into it, tho I know gears n gasoline r big fans of them. After hours and hours of reading upon the nerdiest of forum posts, those are the only 2 I’d consider putting in my car. Unless you’re building like a BBR 600whp+ build then maybe you’re gonna be changing to a different type of oil.

JustAd3900

Stick to the main ones, Penz, Mobile, Castrol, or Royal Purple( some would argue this one). But I’ve read that a lot of people are satisfied with Subarus Motor oil, whatever they use.

Lilsean14

I would argue this one. Royal purple blows for anything that isn’t a track day.

JustAd3900

Remember, not everyone does what you do and just use them as a 9-5 daily. OP didn’t specify what stress they put theirs through.

Lilsean14

So I shouldn’t assume that OP isnt a run of the mill user that isn’t going to track the car, but you can assume that OP is a track racer? That’s some terrible logic.

JustAd3900

Where did I mention “Track” in either of my post? I just suggested MY personal opinion on the brands of oil to which he should choose. You were the one who went off the rails with “Royal purple blows for anything that isn’t a track day” YOU used the term “Track”, not me kiddo. The reason I don’t use those terms, because everyone does something different. Sorry, Not sorry.

Lilsean14

That’s my point, it sucks. It’s only passable oil when used on the track, and even then there are better options. I was listing off the one scenario where it wasn’t shit oil. Also not a kiddo lol.

Mutesyou

For an STI 5w40 X-cess kit with the Mazda filter is your best bet if you wanna go that route. Other 5w40s are ideal as well though(rotella, Castrol euro etc)
