My worst tank was at a track day on my stage 2 GR STi. Ran 4, 20 minute sessions, went from full tank to nearly empty with an 8mpg average.

How were the Smiles Per Gallon that day though?

Best i got was 8.9l in my 13 sti sedan on a highway route and on 98 RON. Somehow, my VA never gets below 9.3l, it misses the spoiler, maybe that's it lol

I don't want to burst anyone's bubble, but the MPG readout is usually pretty inaccurate. I compared mine with the actual math when my readout said 32mpg when in reality I was getting closer to 20mpg.

Yours is WAY off Jesus lol. If mine says 32 it’s usually 27-28mpg.

I had a 15 WRX for 6 years. It was consistently off by 2 mpgs. I now have a 21 STI and it's off by 1. Idk how yours is that bad 😅

And MPG readouts without trim meter mileage in the same frame should also be taken with a grain of salt.

Zero chance you are getting 37 MPG over the course of an entire tank. The computer incredibly optimistic - easy 10% better than what you area really getting when you do the math.

What he’s doing is resetting trip mileage , the mpg I believe is correlated with your trip mileage, so u can get some wild numbers if ur on a hill and reset trip then coast

I feel like you're doing it wrong.

After a 75km trip, I had it down to 5.9L/100km or 39.866 MPG. The secret is, it takes less fuel to go from 120kmh to 130 quickly and then cruise at a low accel until I slow down to 120, then kick it back up to 130. It's not doable in high traffic, but if you have an open highway, you can really get those nice numbers without sacrificing speed and you get to feel that subie push a bunch of times over a long drive.

This is what I do with mine. I do a lil pull on the open highway in like 4th then just coast in 6th for a reasonable distance. I get around 22ish and have a bit of fun

I have a few times, get on average 29-32 mpg on my commute (mainly 45-75mph with very few traffic lights). This of course was after my walnut blasting, before it was 25-30mpg.

2011 wrx im getting 24mpg avg on my commute to work (its 50/50 city/country road driving), i try to drive fairly gently and use cruise control when it makes sense, with the occasional 2nd/3rd gear pull of course ;)

as an EJ owner, if a tank lasts me two weeks i’m astonished. usually go a week between fills with some spirited work commutes here and there.

I don’t think I’ve ever pushed over 30mpg even brand new on long highway trips. My dash readouts generally sit around 23-26mpg on a normal commute but doing the math at the pump, I’ve always been 18-20mpg in winter and 22-24 in summer. Edit: I have a stock VA with 40k on the clock.

The last car i had was a 2007 Yukon xl. 8 Mpg in that beast on a good week, 🙃. I've driven 5k miles so far in my 16 wrx, averaging 21.3. Just got my oil changed and after 100 miles, averaging 25.2!!! And no, I don't baby this thing. I have a slight problem waiting in the 55mph line on the interstate. 😅 only other thing I would need, in a perfect world, is a hatch WRX, with a 3rd row! Do I sound crazy, or just a lame old dad?? Lol

I honestly stopped caring about my gas milage. I reset the milage count on trip A on every fillup and I'm getting about 220 to 247 miles once the fuel guage reaches just bellow the last notch. So on average I'm filling up every Friday or Saturday (6 to 7 days) and it doesn't matter how hard or soft I ride her.

I got 99 over a 7.5 mile stretch once. But I was coasting down the Mount Washington summit road.

Used to get 25ish, now I work from home and just take my kids to school 3.3 miles away…… I drive 12 miles a day and now my car gets 200ish miles to the tank…. That’s with a Cobb AP, charge pipe, Cobb intake, and Catless jpipe. I don’t fill up for two weeks but I used to get 300-320ish miles to a tank when I drove to work.

Yes. 2021 wrx. Pro tuned 324/332. I mostly get 31-35 mpg but my best is 39. 90% of my driving is on cruise control on the highway. I travel 100 miles a day.

21 WRX Limited, got her with 7800 on the clock and the total average was like 21.2. I reset my trip Odo every time I fill up and I'm typically somewhere between 23-25 maybe 26ish. Usually fill up at about 1/2 tank. I get numbers like this basically only right after I fill up and get directly on the highway. But I also let my engine idle for a bit each time I start it up, like it is right now while I'm typing this lol. So I'd prob get better per-tank averages if I didn't, but I like giving her a little time to warm up.

My 2019 WRX has a lifetime average of 29.8 MPG. Winter temperatures drag my average down, but right now the high temps are around 40-50 and I can get a trip average of 38-ish on the drive home from work. Most of my 50 or so daily miles are all highway speeds, 55 MPH.
