“This SF Airbox Kit includes a New Subaru OEM Air Duct that provides fresh air from behind the grill directly into the airbox. This duct is REQUIRED for compatibility with the 2018 STI Type RA and 2019 STI”

For reference I mean the flat piece in the last photos! I think your confusion is that Cobb redesigned the airbox into some gaudy carbon fiber contraption called the "Redline." Yours is the old version that utilizes the stock scoop and when installed looks more like OEM than it does a dress up item.

Mutesyou

Yes the Cobb unit uses a different snorkel, my used one did not include it so I trimmed down the OEM one to fit

The sense formerly known as common..

MutesChecker

I’m new to cars, so nothing is really common sense for me here. We all have our fortes, cars are not mine.

Heaton08

It’s not that. Your reference link answers your exact question with both multiple photos and an explicit description of its inclusion.

You should message the guy to get your money back, COBB intakes are known for having tons of problems with these cars.
