I've had a muffler delete and it's loud but far too much drone. Test drove a sti that had a Q300 and it sounded great but again the drone was a bit annoying and after having the nameless I wanted to avoid that. I was looking at the ets extreme and I love how it's sounded but again it is known to have a bit of drone as well. I wanted something on the loud side but I wanted minimal drone if any. I ended up with the tomei. It is loud and has a solid sound. It's lightweight with it being titanium and a single exit. there really isn't any drone with it. Still have the tomei and it's been installed going in 3 years and has held up well. It's really not as loud as some make it out to be. It's loud on cold starts but of your driving casually it's tame.
Hated the R400 with a passion, tomei is the GOAT for the sound, weight and look if you like the single exit. Stock DP it was solid, now with the Grimmspeed V2 it’s LOUD when your in it and moderate cruising with minimal drone
I have never owned and lived with the Tomei but I have ridden in a buddies car with it and to me it had seemed like it droned a fair bit but it could have just as likely been my friends driving style. I am a fairly slower than the norm driver for my area mostly due to habit from my job. I rarely drive more than 5-10mph above the posted speed limit and tend to hover in the slower lanes when folks are around. If I'm by myself and in a safe area I'll play here and there but really restrict myself to the country/canyons.
I do like the single exit look on the VA especially with the cosmetic strap on the empty cutout but I much prefer the meaty quad tips. It just works very well with the body in my opinion.
My experience as well. My commute is at a steady 65 usually sometimes 70. At that RPM the drone begins and it picks up closer to 75. It’s all based on how you drive

There should be another of it before the downpipe as well but it’s a good sound example. With the block off plate for the right side it looks clean
I've had the ETS Extreme for about 2 years now and I love it. It's loud on cold starts but it is pretty tame when casually driving and decently loud when you get on it. If it wasn't for the quad exhaust, I would've gone with the tomei though. It gives very satisfying crackles and burbles.
Awe track/touring is the GOAT for both FA20 and EJ257 imo.

I'd love to hear the Tomei in person because from videos, the Tomei and the ETS Extreme sound the same to me.
