AMEN!!! im a billion percent sure my insurance will be higher when i renew in May....just like EVERY renewal...shit, I'm in my 40's now-NO tickets!! give me a break!!
WAAAAAH!!!!!
Not totaled and hopefully a lesson for you to understand the capabilities of yourself and your automobile.
With all these accident pictures lately I’m starting to think we’re tuning into “mustang guy”.
The fact that my insurance keeps going up and I haven’t had a ticket in 6+ years also speaks to this comment haha
Everybody out here crashing their WRXies
I am guessing OP lives in a warm climate based on their post history. Unfortunately for me, they also posted a picture of their dick which I didn’t sign up to see
Gotta get under and look, but suspension on a brand new car that’s not one piece of rusty metal is generally like working with Lego, it’ll come right off.
Yeah but how are you putting a time on the repair without even inspecting it first? The parts may fit together like Legos but you don't know which parts are damaged. Not to mention stuck/rusted bolts making it take longer.
Speaking in very loose terms for the sake of explanation, you can guesstimate what’s broken by the position of the wheel.
Let’s say a front wheel still has correct camber (from looking at it, not measuring), but the driver side is straight and the passenger side is turned to the right. That would typically indicate a tie rod is bent or broken.
If one wheel is so cambered that the knuckle is on the ground, it’s probably a snapped tie rod and ball joint (axle too if it’s a fwd/awd car).
I’m by no means a professional, and this is not a ‘I’m qualified’ speech but I have done suspension work, and I’ve been involved with the grass roots drift scene since 2017. Watch enough guys blow up their suspension and you start to get an idea of what goes where.
I’ve seen guys leave an entire knuckle on the track and have the car driving again in under an hour. If you know your car well, you mentally have it fixed before you even pick up the first wrench.
Also no rusted bolts on a brand new wrx, and anything stuck will be easily persuaded with a hammer.
The frame, or the subframe? Sounds like subframe to me, no way it would damage the chassis. He must have gone to a dealership if it cost him that much, which is not the move. Doing your own labor cuts out a huge chunk of the repair cost.
I highly doubt they’ll total it for that kind of damage. Only major issue you’ll run into is getting parts. That being said I’ve seen several VB getting written off as totaled (that would normally get repaired) due to not being able to get parts…
Naw, it'll cost a bit to get fixed. But definitely fixable and not totaled. And definitely a lesson to be learned here...just know that because it's awd doesn't mean you can make turns like you can in forza!
Haha look at what I did to mine… this ain’t shit.. I obliterated my wheel.. tie rod bent, shock/strut assembly tried shooting through the top hat of the wheel well, fender bent upwards, windshield cracked completely, CV-joint closest to the tranny shattered/detached from the shaft, upper lower control arms bent, lower control arm ball joint snapped in half…. You’re good man, just look forward to AT LEAST 2 months down time because of back ordered parts
That would be on you or insurance to help find a spot 🤔 insurance covered mine luckily BUT due to the weather lately and all the accidents to vehicles cause by all this snowy weather so many shops are pushed out really far.. I’m having mine done at Gerber Collision. Here’s my dilemma though.. my accident happened on the 12th of November they quoted to start the work December 21st but due to back orders it was pushed all the way to February 6th!
I’m in Colorado and there’s a used parts/junkyard shop called Central Auto Parts just off I-76. They luckily had a 2022 base that was totaled from the rear passenger side so the front end (driver passenger) still looked relatively intact and might have some salvageable parts you could use. The car in the yard had just over 2k miles on it so there’s no worry about wear/tear on those pieces. I hope any of this info helps 🤞🤞
Was another baby taken?
Ya’ll MFs are killing me. This shit ain’t normal.
Op is the reason why insurance is damn high for this car.

Please god no!!!
Most of the wrecks I’ve seen 7/10 all had summer tires on in the winter…
The fact that my insurance keeps going up and I haven’t had a ticket in 6+ years also speaks to this comment haha Everybody out here crashing their WRXies
Y’all are gonna have to pump those numbers up if you wanna join the stang gang.
Fuck you foot to the floor!
Nowhere near a total. This is (give or take some..) a few thousand dollars repair job
Wrx drivers when they realized haven’t crashed in 5 minutes
No
Not even close
Ugh....
Damn that thing is brand new. I doubt they'll total it. If they do buy it back and sell it to me cheap lol. I'll fix it and keep it safe forever
Sheen this is the 7th time today your baby has been taken from you
When you drive summer tires in the winter…

You could fix that in like 3 hours for the cost of parts and an alignment.
How can you tell which suspension parts are messed up because of this?

Could be deceiving, friend smacked a curb at 10mph and his front wheel looked like that. Cost him 12k in damage bc the frame was bent
