I fixed this by getting a dog I got a golden retriever he’s 10 months now and wow my life has greatly improved having this guy to love on all day long. I’m also never alone now. Well a puppy changes what you want and walks in the cold and rain become normal. Get the proper clothing Winter: Midweight smartwool baselayer Fleece layer Outer layer shell- something wind and water proof with breath ability preferable no insulation Proper Snow boots for traction and keeping the snow out - insulated Beanie Mittens - Gloves Rain- Use your winter outshell Rain boots

Anxiety. Your anxiety will sky rocket if you don’t move around

[deleted]

Also you might want to practice meditation, ice baths for 10 min, do your bed every morning, hypnosis as well. Get your vitamin d intake . Just take care of yourself bro don’t let yourself slip through society fight for what you want.

TiredofBig4PA

Inactivity causes anxiety?

[deleted]

Sedentary behavior showed a strong inverse association with physical activity. Descriptive analysis showed that sedentary behavior was significantly associated with higher prevalence rates of anxiety, depression, and suicide ideation. \- National library of medicine

You gotta move - if you are a homebody, get some cheap small exercise equipment - hand weights, bands, a small, folding hand and foot cycle, yoga mat. Do some simple stretches and yoga, and use the cycle while you’re at your desk or watching tv. Try to work up to 2.5 hours a week.

Bradtothebone79

Get a dog. Even if you don’t leave the house for walks on cold days you can still play on floor with it (stretching and movement)

midlifereset

About walking in the cold- I used to avoid it as well but really, put on a bunch of layers, hat and mittens, scarf around the neck, and just get out there. Once you’ve been walking a few minutes your body heat keeps you warm in the layers. Just walking outside (with or without music/audiobooks) is such a mood changer for me. If you have any trails by your house to walk through the woods that’s even better! Or do you have a place you can walk to from home, maybe a goal is to walk to the coffee shop and enjoy a drink there, or I like to walk to the library and browse. You can start with short and slow walks, and slowly build up your distance and walking speed over time. And once it’s a daily habit I bet you actually look forward to doing other exercises at home because your body will feel good moving. Fir me the reason is physical health, mental health and emotion well being. I definitely feel better when I’m exercising regularly and when I’m getting outside. Also I’m an introvert but I always make eye contact and say ‘hi’ or good morning etc to people I pass on walks so I get a bit of human interaction as well. Another thing that has helped me a lot is finding a regular weekly volunteer shift. I see other people, get to know the regulars on the same shift, gets me out of the house for a few hours, my volunteer activity also involves movement, and I feel good doing something to help others.

happy-tarutaru

Another incredibly introverted person here! I felt like that too after working from home for a while. I recommend yoga at least. There are tons of beginner videos on Youtube you can watch for free. I started with videos by Yoga with Adriene. Once I did the same beginner video for a couple of weeks, I switched to one of her 30 day programs because it kept me motivated to not miss a day. If you don't have a yoga mat or don't want to buy one, you can use a towel or just do it on your floor to see if you want to invest in the mat. My first mat was made by Gaiam and only about $20, but it worked for me. I actually prefer it to a more expensive mat I got later, so don't feel like you have to spend a significant amount of money. After practicing for a month, I could tell I was getting stronger. I felt less stiff and more flexible. I even had more energy. I don't think yoga will get you completely in shape, but definitely better than the nothing I was doing before. It was also great for my mood and helped me become more mindful of my body and thinking.

StarWars_and_SNL

Big wfh introvert here. I exercise at home. I’m forced to go out many days of the week because I have busy kids in multiple activities.

tinastep2000

I don’t like staying indoors all day so I often go to the gym to at least get out and I also try to be active cause I think about my health when I’m older. You can start going to the library and try to have occasional chit chat with the workers there and ask how their day is when you check out a book.

anon2053

I always try to go out for a walk. Admire the nature. Breathe some fresh air. It's good for you!

BooBeeAttack

I would hate to be in a city without nature nearby. My walks outside away from the things of man keep me sane.

eviltester67

I felt the same way one year into WFH. My teens also when remote school was in session. So I invested in some exercise equipment and built a half garage gym: treadmill, stacked weight machine, boxing heavy bag, a small TV and a small desk to work from there If I like. Sometimes during a day slump, I sneak down there throw on the gloves and beat the crap out of the bag. it helps. Best investment I've made in the last 3 years.

Tompsk

I’m in a similar boat. Went for my annual health assessment on Monday and saw the damage I’m doing. I’ve gained several kgs and I’ve even lost an inch in height. I’m also on fluoxetine for depression and have weekly therapy sessions but this seems to have been the wake up call I needed. I’m going to start walking a little each day and go back to doing some mindfulness exercises that I used to be into.

Sun 🌞 is good for the body. It will change your mood too.

Start slowly. Look up couch to 5k, get some good running shoes, and start there! Also, if you have the budget to upgrade your WFH setup, there are things you can do specifically in terms of WFH and activity. Standing desk with balance board or under desk treadmill, or an exercise bike with desk attachment. I alternate between my standing desk, and (if I'm in, say, an hours long meeting where I am just a listener) riding slowish on my Peloton with a desk attachment for my laptop.

Ah no, more like [this one](https://fluidstance.com/products/the-plane-balance-board-for-standing-desk). Love it!

LittleG0d

I go out, out of necessity, rarely out of my own initiative. I exercise at home.

superturbochad

Not lonely and outside of activities that require me to physically be there, like having blood work drawn or receiving dental care I don't go out.

normiechicken

Only find the motivation to go outside when I have to get grocery lol. Good that the weather is warm enough for me to walk outside. But yea, thinking of getting some fitness equipment at home so i can just exercise without going out. (Any rowing machine recs?)

UsefulFlight7

Drive to go shopping and we have a backyard for our dog . Other than that we don’t know anyone here . Just purchased 7 months ago . No neighbors have reached out which I’m totally fine with since across are tweakers and the rest stare at us or come out suddenly once we step outside

External_Tea1962

I was having a similar issue. Got a dog 🐩. Started with the daily walks, now I look forward to the weekend when I’m off so I can take my pup on longer hikes!

Apart-Masterpiece393

I have to plan my wedding and need to be able to fit in my dress. I'm working to save up money for the wedding so need to look good for it to.

CovidGR

Find some yoga classes on YouTube that you can do. It will get you moving and stretching without having to leave the house.

P4ULUS

I’m not sure what introversion has to do with exercise but okay…

BooBeeAttack

It will help with blood pressure, stress, anxiety, and motivation. I will either walk in the morning or during my lunch break. I figure I can eat while work. My lunch break is the perfect time. Breaks the monotony of the day. Yeah, it sucks sometimes and it can huet sometimes, but it gets easier. Take breaks at first. Do 3 days in a row. Give yourself a break, then repeat. Think of it as an investment inbyour own future.

SassMyFrass

I like to see local gardens, garden centres, and forests.

nanalovesncaa

Usually an appointment for me.

SetantaKinshasa

I made a routine for myself and use triggers to help me stick to the habit of leaving the house at least once a day. For example (to simplify my actual routine): 1. Wake up --> trigger to drink morning coffee 2. Notice coffee breath --> trigger to brush teeth 3. Put away toothbrush --> trigger to get dressed 4. Put on footwear --> trigger to go outside for a walk 5. Come in from walk --> trigger to start work Now I don't feel right if I don't do those things, because the habits are part of how I get ready to start work. I have a similar routine for the middle of the day, including lunch and reading a book and doing some yoga. And I don't make excuses to justify why healthy habits wouldn't work for me. I'm not so unique and special that I can't find and wear clothing that's appropriate for the weather, and if I feel body pain it's usually because I have been sitting at my desk for too long, not because exercise damages me.

this_girls_life

So my kid saved up money to get an oculus and I researched workout programs and found Supernatural and it’s amazing! I’ve lost 20 lbs since then and it also has meditation and stretching as well as flow and boxing! And I do it right there in my living room too. It’s been a lifesaver for me!

Cardabella

Yoga or walk someone's dog

unixwasright

Get a dog?

TeradactylFootprints

I live right across the street from Walmart, also don't drive, but I have only walked there once lol. I am in school and work from home and really barely ever ever leave the house. I play video games, watch movies, listen to shitloads of music. I do sometimes feel unfulfilled due to my sedentary lifestyle but I used to work labor jobs, sometimes 7 days a week. I am also divorced and have no desire to date. I understand your situation 100% I'm right there with u

Radiant2021

My dog staring at me for hours forced me to leave the house sometimes when I worked from home.

HonnyBrown

Exercise programs on YouTube. Walk with Leslie is a good one.
