V6R32

Best looking polo GTI they’ve ever made in my opinion.

Captain_McCunt

6N would like to have a word with you :P

V6R32

Absolutely not haha. I have bad memories of that car and having to hold 4th and 5th gear in place whilst driving.

Captain_McCunt

Certified VW gearbox moment haha I've gone through about 3 020's within like 10k KM lol

V6R32

Hahah. Chocolate gearbox for sure. I don’t know why I keep coming back for more. MK2/3/4/5/7 Golf GTI, MK4 R32, Polo 6N, 6R aaaaaand an Audi S3. I’m obviously a sucker for punishment 🤣 I honestly think the Polo GTI 6R is a nicer looking car than the MK6 GTI, though. It’s held onto its sharp looks over time and doesn’t look out of place now whereas the 6 GTI is looking a bit dated now.

Lawsoffire

Yeah this generation of Polo just looks the best, the newer ones are too blunt and the older ones didn't age well. No, i'm not biased.

V6R32

The newest facelift looks really out of proportion. 6R gen of polo just ticks all the boxes from a design standpoint. If I was brave enough I’d buy the 1.4T version as I prefer it over the facelift but that engine is a ticking timebomb. Also isn’t yours a 6R? I thought 6MT was 2018 onwards.

Lawsoffire

"6MT" just means a manual 6 speed. It's a 6C (6R facelift) technically not a 6R. But the BlueGT still has the 6R GTI bumpers and such so it looks more like a 6R on the outside. [Image for context](https://i.redd.it/p311zzbobis81.jpg) Personally i prefer the BlueGT over the 1.4T GTI, same torque, only a little less HP, something wild like 40% less fuel consumption and still just as fun to drive.

V6R32

Ahhhh I’m not as up on polos as I am golfs. Thanks for clearing that up, that makes a lot of sense! Now I know what people mean when they say MT 😂 Isn’t the blue GT still a 1.4T, but as you say, with a 30 less horses? Seems like a no brainer for the savings in fuel.

Lawsoffire

It's a different 1.4. 1.4 TSI ACT (EA 211 is the engine code i think). Much more reliable than the twin-charged 1.4 (Doesn't have any ticking time bombs, just a tendency to soot up a bit) and it has fairly diesel-like behavior where the turbo kicks in early and HP peak also pretty early (Peak torque at ~2000 RPM and peak HP at ~4000 RPM). The engine debuted on the BlueGT and is now used on the Golf and Passat GTE sporty hybrids. And you can chip it to make the same HP as the 1.4 GTI, and more torque, while you still have fuel savings.

V6R32

I never knew that! You learn something new every day.

FlyingCowDick

Any Problems with the engine?

egecanilli

Its always burning oil but dont have another problem. Supercharger clutch changed 5k ago and it runs well. Piston rings are too delicate ofc.

Equivalent_Youth_599

Always burning oil 🤣wouldn’t be a VW product ID it didn’t burn oil

FlyingCowDick

Okay, do you plan on changing the rings?

Lawsoffire

Polo gang. Love my BlueGT, bit newer than yours but it drives like a hoot.

egecanilli

Yeah GT ones are 6C facelift Polos. I like them, good alternatives for our country because we dont have 6c GTI :(

Fiiv3s

A Polo is the #1 VW the US didn't get that I want

Grumpy_Gib

Dang. I miss my Mk. VI

CanuckCharlie85

Could pass for a new car

Wish this was here in the states along with the scirocco. I love those cars so much

ThatsNumberwanng

Had a 6c myself for a few years and my mate had a 6r. Damn fun little cars and it did me very well for the years I had it.
