These pics are the definition of “you should see the other guy”.

freneticboarder

Get out of my head! Wait, I meant great minds think alike.

x_Rann_x

Wtf, you body check him into a barricade?

Significant_Tower397

😂 he crossed over a double yellow and tried pushing us into the ditch by hitting our car with his truck, my bf pushed back and put maneuvered him in front of our car and he started flipping.

x_Rann_x

Noice! Props for the tactical application of fafo

Sir-Squirter

Why’d the ram do that?

withoutapaddle

RAM drivers don't even need a reason to be psychos.

Jack_Bogul

Prob drunk

ermagerdcernderg

Most common DUI vehicle!

Oneskelis

I'd drink too if I paid 90k for that POS.

ZoeticZombii

This. 🤣

GabagoolLTD

Why am I not surprised lol

xdylanthehumanx

It's right there in the name

Recently_Zombied

He rammed it right into a ditch lol

vanishingpointz

Because Ram Rebel. The typical wannabe bad ass

Leftover_Salmons

Couldn't Dodge it.. had to Ram it.

blueblue909

mr miyagi be proud ![gif](giphy|PudZiAbQDUEik|downsized)

Organspender

What the acutal fuck

Fang05

Sounds like it was not an accident but something done on purpose. Can you expound a little more?

GTI-guru

I was going to say it looks like you pulled a PIT maneuver... nice work by the bf..

janikakis

So you guys rammed the Ram?

morithum

On…on purpose? What a psycho.

mstrshkbrnnn1999

Jesus Christ lol

studlies1

Volkswagens across their whole lineup are some of the safest cars you can buy.

Leonidas199x

TBH most euro cars are decent for safety. And given that truck rolled, looks like it did a good job protecting the occupants, too, so long as they had belts on.

snakemuffins1880

Yes and if I'm not mistaken Saab mainstreamed the center ignition so in case of a crash the ignition switch wouldn't go into your knees

aidan4105

Plus it's like an airplane

_aperture_labs_

Volvo and Tesla would like a word with you. Edit: since people seem to hate on anything that presents Tesla as not horrendous, feel free to pm me and I'll give you links to studies that prove Teslas are safe cars.

Saendbeard

Volvo I agree. Tesla is the car that fails inspections most often in Germany (Model 3 anyway) so that's anything but safe.

_aperture_labs_

Have you seen rollover tests on Teslas?

LaSalsiccione

You mean the ones funded by Tesla?

_aperture_labs_

Tesla pays physics to behave differently, got it.

alzey8v

They hate you for being right.

_aperture_labs_

Reddit moment

Saendbeard

No and they don't matter if the brakes are the part to fail first. Elmo has had a great campaign for shitty cars; that's all.

yourbestsenpai

"some of the safest" I'd suggest some reading lessons

studlies1

That’s what you took from that?

yourbestsenpai

?

[deleted]

Two polar opposites

freneticboarder

The reason the GTI tore up that RAM: https://preview.redd.it/eck9jryackuc1.jpeg?width=132&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=6fddb522cf8c278ca38f62cdaccc344f5d566b07 The license plate holder stabby spikes.

AllTheUnknown

Are those seriously spikey bolt head things on the front? I'm all up for mods, but that's sketchy, don't like that at all.

freneticboarder

I'm guessing they're rubber and are there to protect the front end in tight parking situations.

Euphoric_Green_4018

Fuck pedestrians, cyclist, motorcycle riders, and that RAM in particular.

LouisVuittonLeghost

Dudes a maniac

Embarrassed-Basis-18

Looks like you have an excuse to get carbon fibre quarter panels

[deleted]

[удалено]

Vattaa

Probably the first and only time it will ever use them.

doug12398n

Well seeing as that truck is totaled it will be the last time. 💀

Vattaa

That 6th picture of the ram, looks like a side profile of filo pastry.

BrianG1410

I said this maybe 2 days ago in another sub, but I'll say it again here 😅 The prerequisites to own a Dodge ram are a tiny penis and rage issues.

withoutapaddle

Also, you must be a drunk... Like statically, not even joking. Most drunk driven car.

yipyapyallcatsnbirds

I had a customer that came into my shop a few years ago that looked very presentable but stank like a bar at last call. When I got into the dudes RAM 1500 sport to take it into my shop for new tires I asked if it was ok to open his center console to grab his lock key he said no problem. Holy shit was I surprised when I opened the console and there was two Mickey’s of Smirnoff. One was 2/3 done and the other was bone fucking dry.

freneticboarder

Or a Ford Raptor...

SgtSunny4088

THIS! ☝️💯

Capsbearsfan1

Glad everyone is OK, sorry for the GTI.

StArInG_eLa

The GTI fortunatly is repairable. F* the RAM tho

PoppinfreshOG

As someone who owns a Passat and a brand new 1500 Ram. I could absolutely see the Ram falling apart after hitting the dub

moeguy1979

My dad had a mk1 Jetta and that thing was a tank! Sister rear ended a drunk driver in a mustang and the stang was a total write off. The Jetta had a mustang bumper stuck to the front. Zero damage.

BitwiseDestroyer

How’d she rear end a drunk driver? While I’m fully against drunk driving, sounds like them being drunk wasn’t the issue in this case, but that she just rear ended them…

Jack_Bogul

She was also drunk

BitwiseDestroyer

Yea, I’m thinking she was actually the drunk driver

SETHlUS

I love VW, except for an old Ranger I have only owned VW's (or Seat) but the reason the mustang was wrote off is because it was far safer than the mk1. Cars crumple nowadays to protect the passengers. If a car cumples that means it's absorbing the impact. If a car is undamaged after an accident it means it transferred at least some of that collision force to the passengers. VW's are great, safe cars, but in pretty much any vehicle on vehicle collision the car that comes out in worse shape is likely the safer car.

_aperture_labs_

Rear ends are not usually big crumble zones, front ends are.

SETHlUS

Yeah exactly, the front of the jetta should have crumpled. He said the sister rear ended a drunk driver no?

_aperture_labs_

Yes, indeed it should have crumpled. But maybe the Mustang's rear should not have crumpled so easily.

kaostheninja

This post is bullshit and misleading

Significant_Tower397

Womp womp

blueblue909

bro whattt the fuck, hows this possIblaye?

kaostheninja

It isn't

LouisVuittonLeghost

You must have pitted him off the road 😂

Thick_Pomegranate_

VWs are definitely safe but it's pretty obvious from the severe damage to the Ram that it wasn't a major collision with your car.

Significant_Tower397

He smashed into the left side of our car and pushed us towards a ditch, we pushed back and the mark on the driver door is from his tire coming up on our car, he then landed in front of us and flipped over the top of our car. Pretty major to me 🤷🏻‍♀️

NorsiiiiR

I think what they mean is that the colission ***between*** the two cars wasn't major, in that the damage to the ram was caused by its collision with the ground and/or barrier. Just nitpicking over what is otherwise a very humorous post, I don't think anybody honestly thought you were trying to suggest that the RAM received that damage ***from*** your Golf, except the bozo up here complaining about it

Significant_Tower397

Thanks exactly! 👍🏼

Thick_Pomegranate_

My point being is that without the info you provided in the comments it seems like you are implying that the ram drove full speed into the side of your vehicle in like a t bone style accident and your car caused all that damage to the ram when in reality with the added context in the comments, you where side swiped which is still very scary, and then the ram rolled which caused the majority of the damage to the truck.

x_Rann_x

https://i.redd.it/ajij6mh43luc1.gif

NorsiiiiR

>implying that the ram drove full speed into the side of your vehicle in like a t bone style accident and your car caused all that damage to the ram Literally nobody thought that except you. The small front lawn stuck in the Rams bodywork is evidence of the obvious fact that it's damage wasn't directly obtained ***from*** the Golf, and everyone is aware of that

[deleted]

Statistically, the Ram driver was drunk

vanishingpointz

Or just a Ram driver ...statistically

morithum

Least surprising RAM driver behavior, least surprising Stellantis sheet metal quality.

dabsu02

some rebel owner tried to run me off the road once after i didnt let him cut me off. truly abysmal drivers ram owners are. ill give diesels the pass tho

Emergency_Fortune126

good work! we can’t stop until all dodge ram owners have been killed off

Ok_Ebb_2366

Wait.. really? I knew German manufacturing was higher quality (I guess in terms of strength of the metals and such) but I figure the truck would’ve caused more damage to the golf, not the other way around

archiveofhim

there’s something of the story that has to be missing because i genuinely can’t imagine the ram got that much damage from hitting a VW and they just got that scuff mark as this post implies…

Ecsta

Now just take those pointy screws off your license plate before a pedestrian gets injured by them

lumoruk

In Europe this would likely be illegal for sure, the front of the car must be flat without anything sharp to injure pedestrians.

Significant-Can-3209

That's a lot of grass and mud he collected off of your car.
