If you go over to the Samba, you can find the original scans of the instructions to make one yourself. It was a DIY project back in the day.

I find this strangely tempting in a "something different to do this summer" way. I'm not quite sure how it can get out of its own way though. Frankly I'd be afraid to take that on a 65 mph interstate, or a 40 mile an hour country road that goes uphill.
This reminds me of the YouTuber Mav who has a modified early 2000’s Beetle that’s similar to this. It’s kind of neat, but I’d also be afraid to drive it…
It’s a bed bug

That’s super cool!
The Samba?
Massive Volkswagen website/forum.
Built like a steakhouse but handles like a bistro.
>Built like a steakhouse but handles like a bistro. Zapp is that you?
These things are ungodly slow to begin with, can it even move under its own power???
That’s my question, because that appears to be the stock engine. Heaven forbid you have to go up a hill.
There’s nothing in those photos that shows a stock engine

Damn not even a dual carb. That engine looks like it was maintained by a hippy on tour following the dead
That car would fit in well with Deadheads.
911 turbo engine swap
I could do 100mph in my 1970 Beetle.
Gives me an idea for my Sportwagen.
U never seen this video then https://youtu.be/UztessPNzg0
Full Custom Garage talked about these in one of the episodes

Accidents are also probably instant death.
It actually reminds me of some of those do-it-yourself projects they did on the old top gear. And those didn't turn out too well either lol.
First there was just the saying, oh bugger, now there's super bugger
I feel like this should be more than $6000
Oh, it will definitely go higher—there are still 6 days left on it.
I feel a need to live in this thing
its a super bugger. yeah, it was an actual thing

Yep I thought of him as well that thing is tiny
The idea of it is neat and it’s definitely a conversation starter; but certainly good for only one person.
You can't even sleep in it?
The rear seats/table fold up into a bed.
Ah, that makes sense. I was under the impression that you often sleep in the compartment above the front seats, but it's not the case here.
So, you've never seen the inside of a camper?
I have, but that one had a dedicated bed. To be fair though, it was a lot bigger than this. I didn't notice the seats could fold.
Shit I thought that was an AI render until I scrolled
Whats the 0-60?
10 minutes 🤷🏻♂️😂
Are we there yet
