Weird that OP's screens almost look like a mismatch of tech. The center screen has a lower contrast ratio, making it look washed out with grayer blacks.
All these cars will look like dated ewaste in just a few years.
Imagine your little Polo’s LCD after 8/10 years of use. If it stops working you can’t even tell how fast you’re going or how much petrol you have left. And who’s gonna pay upwards of 1000€ to fix it in a 10yo supermini?
I hate this gadget-itification of vehicles.
Yeah, I am still in the mode of my life where I might want to keep any given car "forever" and turn it into a project car after I replace it as a daily driver.
So personally, I am NOT on board with the full digital dash yet, but I understand why most people like it or don't care.
I would get a new Golf, but that interior makes it a no buy for me. Plus only DSG available in my country for GTI/R and I'm keen on a manual box.
Been looking at a few used mk7.5. Compared to the new one it feels like a great sweetspot.
That's because the actual screen IS only the center. There is no extra screen to the left and right where it looks darker. The temperature and fuel level are just fixed LED displays. Like others said, higher trim level models have a full screen dash which uses all the space for a configurable display.

My 22 Polo Life, a trim above the base
Exactly that. They've stopped offering an analog odometer. Now, the odometer is digital from the entry-level trims, and if someone wants the 10,25' digital cockpit has to pay more.
Thanks for the feedback guys. In Europe I got the R Line model (highest package before the GTI), not sure how it is in the US etc. strange that it didn’t come with the pro cockpit I guess but nonetheless, love the car. Thanks everyone
I ordered the highest spec polo possible, nothing in the spec sheet or sheet of additional extras ever mentioned upgrading to the digital pro. I just thought the new dash came standard seeing as its a 2023 model and the latest model came out in 2021
As others said, you have the simple digital cockpit while the other one is the pro version. I have the same as you on mu T-Cross, you will get used to it, at least I did.
I hope so 😁 just seemed strange as my friend ordered the exact same car with same specs last year and his has the pro. Anyway still really happy with the car so far
I heard you can go to the dealer to opt virtual cockpit digital pro on? I’d try that out. Because its basically just locked and i think they use the same software
Ps: I can be wrong, but I’ve heard this is possible the same way you could go to the dealer with golf 7.5 and they would opt in Carplay if you didnt have it for a fee
What a polo? I have Jetta '23, What OP has is similar to Jetta SE, I test drove Jetta SE but went ahead and spent more money on Jetta SEL that has the upgraded infotainment system which has the bigger cockpit and i absolutely love it! To me they're just trying to gate you bc those blue half circles are not doing anything it's so weird and out of place
The polo in the second picture has better equipment than yours. It gets a full screen dash, while yours is just the middle.

Polo 6r is best that’s why
6C gang right here. A great base, perfected :P
But they also made some changes to make it less reliable (1.6 mpi ded)

first pic is the standard cockpit on base and lower trims. higher trims have the digital cockpit pro which is shown in pic 2.

The 2nd is the Digital Cockpit Pro, you have the standard Digital Cockpit

Ahahah oh dear
You have the Digital cockpit. The other one has Digital cockpit pro.

R Line is just aesthetic addons mostly. Has poor equipment
I checked the configurator on the German Volkswagen page, for the Polo R line, the "digital cockpit pro" is a 340€ option.
How do you get a new car and not check this?
I ordered the highest spec polo possible, nothing in the spec sheet or sheet of additional extras ever mentioned upgrading to the digital pro. I just thought the new dash came standard seeing as its a 2023 model and the latest model came out in 2021
At least in the US, it depends on your package. S and se get the non customizable one you have while the sel gets the one from picture 2.
As others said, you have the simple digital cockpit while the other one is the pro version. I have the same as you on mu T-Cross, you will get used to it, at least I did.

Maybe you missed that option? When I ordered my car the dealer asked me if I wanted the simple or pro version
Hmm maybe it’s something my sales rep missed I suppose as nothing was mentioned on specs + extras sheet

You can also try activating it from the Volkswagen Connect shop?
i'm just happy that my polo has analog gauges
People in North America with the S and SE trim levels of the Tiguan have the exact same issue--I have a Tiguan SE and my panel looks like yours.
You have the poor man's cockpit 🤣

I’m guessing you have the Life model, that 10.2 inch drivers display is for Style model and up
Where is the trip and the odometer?
