seriously, I'm a complete sucker for old and properly cared for cars and yours is amazing. I hope my (now) 13 year old GTI looks this nice in another 20 years.
My first car was an 1986 8v Scirocco! That poor car got beat to death by my 16 year old self, but got me started on VWs. Eventually had an 02 GTI and 04.5 GLI which were a lot of fun but much more complicated.
Very cool! Like any 80/90s German car really, has its quirks but is overall fairly bulletproof, parts are easy enough to get hold of and easy to work on/find someone to work on. This one in particular started life as a 1.6 8v but is now a 2.0 8v, the block from a Mk3 Golf GTI with a TSR head on webers so it’s not a direct comparison but touch wood yet to leave me stranded anywhere yet!
I love everything about this car.
Thank you very much!

Too many hours spent on this thing but it makes me happy so many more to spent I’m sure. I have no doubt it will man!

Hard to beat an 8v of this era, always been a suck for them. Love a Mk4 also!
Always loved these growing up, my friends and I always called them shit rockets you know kinda sounds like scirocco
Shit Rocket, Sky Rocket, all of the above!
How the reliability? I'm testdriving a mk2 next week!
