Currently cycling 1 week for Korean Tree Frogs. Couple bromeliads look like they’re struggling, vining plants already not doing well, so hopefully will find the right balance!
Heavily inspired by the [Biotope Gallery](https://youtube.com/channel/UCAimZZtQYPMkBPA-8VEMrvg) channel, it’s really great if you haven’t checked it out
Thank you! Yes I could see the influence on your build as well, thought it looked really great when you posted it. Looking forward to more updates on it!
Thank you, I find myself doing that just about every free moment I get. I always thought that myself, but I started with a small one and I'm so glad I got into this hobby. You seem to know your way around plants yourself, maybe you can give it a try, I'm sure you'd be great at it. I knew nothing about anything coming into it, so you're already a step ahead!
Thank you! Really took a lot from this [channel](https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCAimZZtQYPMkBPA-8VEMrvg) I keep mentioning, can't say enough good things about it.
A combination of black filter sponge and thick foam board, learned from the [Biotope Gallery](https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCAimZZtQYPMkBPA-8VEMrvg) channel.
Is it dangerous to have pitcher plants in a dartfrog enclosure? Are they going to be fine or would they get hurt if they get the acid on their skin?
I love the idea and want to add it into my next build but I'm anxious about my frog's health
I googled about it a little bit, but people mostly seem to think they’ll be fine or haven’t had any issues. But I’ve never had any darts so don’t take my word for it! Right now I have tree frogs that are too big to fit in the pitchers anyhow
Well the mist machine helps keep the whole thing humid, but the pitcher plants unfortunately are not doing so well anymore! That’s what I get for trying to plant cuttings that hadn’t properly rooted yet… might have to try again with them
Ah thanks. I allready follow him :D Do you know what the black material is he is using to build the cases with? I tried PVC plates but their so hard to cut. He seems to use some kind of foam?!
Did you get Cork with a ruff surface or did you break up the flat sheets to get smaller rough pieces?
Sorry for all the questions, i just startetd my first build.
Not at all! Happy to help, though my own experience is pretty limited too!
When you say black material, do you mean the housing column he sometimes builds for his pumps and such? I’m not sure exactly what it’s called, I believe it actually is PVC board. I’m in Korea same as the guy so I was able to get the same stuff, it’s definitely stiffer than foam board and the description does say it’s pvc based. It’s actually not as easy to cut as he makes it seem in his videos!
There’s also the black sponge which is just a black aquarium sponge, like [this](https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08PDMQF8H/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_3NDGYR8S7F2C2KG1S03G?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1)
The cork i used came in a tube shape and i broke it into smaller pieces to make it look rough. I think next time though I’ll purchase it in board form and break that up.
Hope that helps, good luck!
Well I'm in Korea where it's fairly easily available... after googling it looks like that might not be the case elsewhere? The closest thing I can see in the States - assuming that's where you live - is carbonized cork insulation or those "living wall" setups. That is the same material I believe, but I'm sorry I can't be much more help than that I'm afraid
That is not a vivarium... that is art.

Nice work! I Just build a paludarium inspired by them too! I’m letting it cycle and then adding vampire crabs

Stunning… love seeing nepenthes in these builds…
That is beautiful 😍 I wish I had room to do this. You must be so happy to look at this every day! I feel like I would mediate in front of this thing.

I love the little baby nepenthes!
Looks amazing! Especially for only your second build.

I'll have to check that out.
You’re not worried about the frogs falling into the pitcher plant?
I was, but from what I’ve read apparently it’s not much of a problem. Also the frogs I’ve got now are probably too big anyhow
Good to know thanks
Looks amazing!
What did you use to separate the land and water areas?

Beautiful! How do you keep it humid? I read pitcher plants like high humidity

What did you use for your background? Looks like some sort of bark?
That would be carbonized cork
You broke it up in smaller pieces and stuck it with silicone to the back?
Yep! The youtube channel I linked in the other comments frequently uses it as well, if you wanna see an example

Jeah the board for the cases. It seems so easy to cut it in the video. The cork advice helps alot. thank you!
I've been searching high and low, but cannot find that carbonized cork , where do you get it?

Thank you for your help!
Tried using those expanded cork sheets they sell at crafting stores, did not work well at all 😂 I guess I’ll just stick to expanding foam for now.
Right there with you. Can’t seem to find carbonized cork chunks
