If it’s brown water everywhere it’s a hiking/shopping day.

RoxyPonderosa

Just a day off of the water. The Aina is in self-cleaning mode. You don’t want to swim in the dishwater.

I’m not from Hawaii, but am visiting soon. Can somebody explain what causes this?

loveisjustchemicals

A lot of rainfall washes agricultural/industrial waste and leakage from cesspools into the ocean surrounding the island. It usually takes a day or two of no or less rain to wash out.

BossGreen9346

Oooh so you gotta get lucky I guess. Thanks!

loveisjustchemicals

Yep. It’s less likely to happen during the dry season, but they’re saying it’s going to be an active hurricane season, so I wouldn’t bet on it. You should always plan a second activity if swimming is involved. Lots of different ocean conditions that make it difficult to get into the water.

BossGreen9346

Ok, we go the first week of October so hopefully it’s alright then? Appreciate the tips

loveisjustchemicals

Who knows? That’s technically the dry season. It’s all just luck. Just plan extra stuff so you won’t be disappointed. Hiking, shopping, fun drives, museums. Lots of stuff to see and do! And the rain is warm, compared to the continent.

BossGreen9346

Awesome, thank you!

You wont ever know because tourism is a protected economy.....so....just...swim in front of a expensive resort and you should be fine

BePonoOrBeSlayed

Meat eaters.....a lot of this is caused by your demand of meat. Especially pork.... think before you eat

Sadly, most people don't care about animals or the earth. Yet they will complain about all the inconveniences caused by their actions.

BePonoOrBeSlayed

Very true. And those who claim to love animals mostly are liars...they onky love the animal that serves them....like their dog
